Julian Assange: Bitcoin is Much More Than Just a Currency

  • He who controls the past controls the future, warned George Orwell. This dictum is particularly true in the digital world, where history can be deleted very easily, and without anyone noticing.
Bitcoin, however, destroys all of that.
So argued Julian Assange at The Nantucket Project, where he appeared in the form of a hologram.
Assange called Bitcoin "the most interesting intellectual development on the Internet in the last five years."
Bitcoin is more than just an online currency, Assange pointed out.
The underlying technology of Bitcoin creates "proof of publication" that has the ability "to defend itself and the people who use it against the full might of a superpower," Assange said. This technology has never existed before, and it has applications far beyond the economic role that Bitcoin can play.

    Free Julian.
One of the most smartest minds on our earth.
A shame this man lost so many years in prison, while he could have developed and inspired humanity in a positive way

What happens if a solar flare comes and wipes all the electronics out and you lose your currency, or a virus attack?
I think I can answer my own question, any sort of currency would be worthless anyhow. :)

All modern electronics are built with that in mind and are shielded.

I believe Julian isn't allowed to update his opinion especially on things like this for the reason is they have 2 likely 3 workarounds in place 1 of which is easy to see making me question anyone current on tech as of the past 10 months if they think crypto-bitcoin & the like aren't, haven't always been & by the way you should have known even Julian should have known & maybe did these things are tricky I try to give leeway. I mean look around right now & think ahead just 2 years from now what do you really see & don't be naive.

This talk is absolutely brilliant. Cryptography is equally important today as it was when the British cracked the Nazi code. We live in such a depth-defying moment in history. People just don't understand, but it's not meant for everyone to understand. "For many are called, but few are chosen"... I'll just leave it at that.
