    How can she take someones spot? People (American haters); She won the trials and the nationals prior to thatolympics. She was the reigning world champion. There is no one replacing Simone, it was her decision to make.she earned that spot and s… happens. All those who are hating are mostly people who haven’t moved their bodies in years. Had she competed and had life changing injuries, i bet the same haters would say” well she shouldn’t have competed”. Im so done with people holding others back because they are stuck on stupid.

      Exactly. If she had continued and either done badly or injured herself, they would have called her selfish and arrogant for continuing at the expense of the team.

      1000% I just hate when people say she took someone elses spot when she worked her butt off and earned it, just like she'll earn this once 🙏🏾

      This narrative of Simone taking someone else's spot is crazy. I bet people commenting this are mad about someone else being chosen over them to be featured in My 600 lb life or something like that, when they can't even compete in the biggest loser 🥴

      Thank you! I feel like most of the people saying that don't even know anything about gymnastics and only watch it once every 4 years for the Olympics smh. She rightfully earned her spot and people seem to forget there was also a whole pandemic at the time so an alternate couldn't have even filled in for her(plus one of the alternates tested for covid smh). Considering she was the highest scoring on the team, she also had pressure to compete so even if she did pull out before the games, she STILL would have received hate since people already dislike her and wait for any reason to have an excuse to do to so. She won 30+ medals for this country and literally competed with kidney stones before so she deserves more respect

    • @speedofpee
      @speedofpee Před 22 dny +29

      Quit the events? She took herself out of the all around, giving room to Jade Carey. She took herself out of vault, giving room to Mykayla Skinner. She wasn't going to be a factor for a bars medal. She ACTUALLY DID compete beam and won bronze, as the Chinese were unbeatable that year.
      So yes, refer back to the previous commentor who told you to not speak on things you don't know about. Get it now?

    • @veronicamayer5661
      @veronicamayer5661 Před 22 dny +25

      Don’t judge what you don’t understand. She didn’t quit „out of fear“. There’s more to gymnastics than just muscles. Her brain didn’t allow her to twist in the air as she lost all sense of control and simply couldn’t tell anymore where the floor is and if she would land with her feet or her head facing the floor. It’s extremely dangerous to keep going in that state and the only smart thing to do is stop. If you’re interested in doing a little reading, google „Twisties in gymnastics“ it’s actually not that rare. She’s simply the first big name to face this during an Olympic competition.
