As a member of Gen Z myself who’s come to and left God repeatedly over the course of my life, I feel like I have a bit of say in this conversation.
We’re not asking how God will make our lives better, we’re asking how you can prove he exists.
Edit: Apparently this wasn't clear in the original comment but I am indeed a Christian, specifically an Eastern Orthodox catechumen. I wasn't saying I'm an atheist (in fact I specifically denounced atheism in the replies and repeatedly stated my faith), I was simply being a devil's advocate by speaking from the perspective of one despite not being one myself.

I have no problem with people believing in whatever makes them personally happy but children should be not be taught religion or exposed to religious rituals. Let them grow Some people live and
Maybe young people just don't believe and have other things they want to do with their life and their family should respect that because the next step of leaving religion is leaving their family. My mum was a crazy over the top Christian who was obsessed with her God she didn't allow anything in the house like toys, TV, Internet, fictional books anything fun at all because it was all worldly. Days out to play in park or go to cinama or bowling or birthday parties were forbidden. She didn't even encourage me with school work because she thought no other subject was important than religion. She expected me to focus on god and just do enough at school to get any minimum wage paid job enough to support myself for food while warning me i was not to focus on the job or any social aspects of the job and must keep god first and foremost in my mind. The only thing that was allowed in my childhood was church, reading the bible constantly, praying and conversations that were about god. Day in day out all I heard was god this god that what do you think god would think about this. When I got bored and started trying to talk about anything but God or asked to do anything non religious and whined about it I was punished into complience. My mum and I are no contact I left home at 18 . I worked hard and started my own home run business I've two children and they are my joy in life. I give my children the childhood I never had and I would never ever raise a hand to them or take away their childhood. They're both kind and loving children, they're creative, funny smart, inquisitive and curious without me teaching them that a god is watching their every move. My children enjoy everything that life has to offer, they enjoy school and kindergarden, my son loves sports. They love going to the park and play parks and camping. I make a point of doing something with them every night of the week , we have movie nights, game nights, cooking and baking sessions, lego and building nights. Now my daughter is three we are going on our first trip to Disney land and I think I'm almost as excited as the children to create memories. That's how I want my children to grow up in the here and now with love, fun and experiences. Their schools are thankfully nor religious and I would never allow them to be exposed to religion while young and innocent. My mother is so caught up in her book that she will never change she reached out about meeting the children and instantly attacked me because of how I raise them and how worldly I am. She can't see sense or reason and unfortunately I've had to accept that I can't even allow her to be part of her grand children's life because I know I'd see all of the joy taken from their life all their experiences and fun would be taken away replaced with a old book, a church pew and the word god. Forcing religion on children and making it the only thing in their life won't keep them in religion it will drive them away at the expense of their relationship with their family

Thank you for not indoctrinating your children and letting them make their own decisions when they are ready. I brought my 3 daughters up the same way, now they are 15,26 and 29. Unfortunately my wife’s parents are trying their best to indoctrinate my youngest daughter and she told them that she would make her own mind up when she is ready. My 2 older daughters are open minded, intelligent and enjoy everything life has to offer. I’ve always told them that they are free to believe in whatever they want too and it wouldn’t offend me in the slightest. I was born and raised in the UK by agnostic parents and when I moved to Georgia US in 2002 I was stunned by the way young children are threatened with hell or whatever if they don’t believe. Let your children be children and don’t force your beliefs upon them, let them make their own decisions when it comes to religion. Thank you for your comment, it was like a breath of fresh air in a small closed off room that’s hard to escape.

Jesus said himself that if someone does not deny themself and carry their cross daily, they cannot be his disciple. There’s loads of proof if you look. It’s just that many people just don’t want to accept that Jesus is lord and instead they worship idols which will not do anything for them.

We don’t care to go to church simply because it’s so ridiculous that we all share the belief in Jesus Christ and just want to be a part of it, but the older generations have nothing but hate, contempt, negativity, rude and insensitive remarks, or just straight exclude you, as they talk behind your back. Young people are over the gossip hoity toity bs. Be real and honest with yourselves and each other. @@harryotley5256 and yet, churches are getting more empty by the day, and no ammount of prayers is working.
It is time for the institution of religion take a very hard look into itself, and go for a veritable deep debate of what its indeed its vocation, because carrying with the "sola fide" preaching is not working, dogma is not working, and emotional appeal is not working.
Sorry for the blunt answer, but that is the sad state of affairs that religion is in right now - the institution of religion is in a deep "crisis of conscience", as I like to call, and even an atheist like me cannot stay quiet by the blindness that its followers have about this.
I think that it is time for the religious to take a DEEP look inward, and have a BRUTALLY HONEST debate about what in the end religion stand for.
And let me warn you: it is not gonna be pretty - you will walk into the most deep recesses of your soul, and be witness of yours and your congregation most shameful faults. Many will abandon the faith entirely, for the weight of their own guilt will make them perceive that they are not worthy of even being part of a congregation or being religious, or just by the sheer disgust of the errors and crimes commited by its so-called brothers and sisters.
      It will hurt, and badly.
But, at the end of it, what will be left will be a more humble, realistic, and above all, HUMAN understanding of Jesus, for this "distancing" of the humanity of Jesus is what had led to the main problem faced today by Christianity.

We know what we believe, but do we know why we believe? Do we actually understand what we believe? Reasons I left the Evangelical church is because of college. I was a Theology student at a private Christian university. I took history of Christianity and realized that it wasn’t the Bible that made us Evangelical. It’s historical events and at the time charismatic leaders who started a new movement. Christians 2000 years ago would be lost in the Church because of how much has changed over time and the separations between theological differences or opinions. I think the Church was doomed from the beginning to fall apart the way it is in our post-modern society

What kind of balance of showing God love towards people more welcoming the way Jesus welcome people love people , seen people even if he knew they were sinners, not judge people or look at people less than but the way Jesus would look at them and still show them the love they never had question is how can we be more like Jesus and balance that within not only our lives our family close friend and people in the church but with non believers, stranger , different area etc How can we grow ,learn, heal our character with Jesus through Jesus? a lot of us are not lost because we don’t think God is real maybe of the lack of faith n belief he could truly do miracles n change us truly because either how people treated you who claimed there a follower of Christ how people in the church what people say what people do maybe the lack of understanding no one perfect the reason people go to church to get closer to the lord n grow in many ways through Christ and help people in the church I feel like also how do we view ourselves when we come in the church am I really going to church for the lord because I love him I wanna grow closer to you and be used by him in the church community etc grow closer with people in Christ etc that could also be a great question so many people need to do pray and check with God as well that attending church the true reason coming to church because I hear many story’s of people fleeing churches but still having a relationship with the lord but not going to church because of there experience or there just no longer believers because etc… but this is base on experience and things I personally see that not many people see that maybe could help the question we need to ask ourselves and give it to the lord and ask for help if the truth within ourselves so we could grow

@@jennyt.211 Do you know what Statisticly means? It's a fact, that Christians live in poverty and go to prison way more than atheists or agnostics. Your one comment is supposed to reflect billions of Christians? I take it you don't know what critical thinking is?

Hear me out here. Millennials and GenZ and all the younger ones. Spread the LOVE Jesus wants you to, especially in in the house of God, and I guarantee you’ll see people come back to it.
