    Thanks for the great video! If we talk about Android mobile videography, then for me mcpro24fps is the gold standard now. For many reasons. With a one-time payment I get all the cinematic features without any marketing gimmicks or additional purchases. This is a very honest and noble approach. I would still leave RAW and other fashionable formats for adult camcorders in which disk space and battery consumption are not as important as in mobile videography. Practicing filmmakers will understand me. Here it seems to me LOG + Gamut are perfect choice. I've used every app except Super 16 as it's more of a stylistic one for me. Thanks again for the video. You just confirmed my thoughts.

      Thanks. I agree with you completely. Mcpro24fps with its powerful gamut + gamma curve combo is still my favorite and go-to for serious filmmaking work. Lately i've been turning to Protake for more casual shoots like holiday vacations amd family moments.

      @@RJBaculo Man, MotionCam Pro is so, SO ahead of any other camera app is not even funny. Image quality is on another level entirely. Not to speak about all the options RAW gives you in post. If you are concerned about storage space, attach a 2TB or even a 4TB portable ssd (I have a 4TB Crucial ssd) to the phone via USB and you are set, no more worries. I have the ssd actually attached to a cage, and its great.

    Really enjoy super 16 app which i actually use to color grade my footages, and I gotta say the app really feels the filmic vibe of super 16mm and 8mm. Particularly if you use to color grade the footages from DSLR/Mirrorless cams, it really hits the nostalgic vibes on it.

    I started filmic pro with subscription but it just not that great on an Android and I don't use it enough to warrant a subscription. Moved over to one off payment with MC24pro and wow, so much better than filmic pro. With filmic pro I never got WYSIWYG, but with MC24pro it comes out exactly as I see it.

    Unfortunately Filmic Pro does not support all of Android phone's camera setting.
    I paid for this on my galaxy phone and the functionality is very disappointing.
    Only the Main camera is available within the app. Customer Service has told me that they don't have any access to the other wide and ultra wide cameras.
    And based on your video, I am disappointed that they are trying to charge so much for the lack of functionality.
    I've contacted them many times about a refund to no avail.

    Hi maybe you can advice on free aps. I have Samsung galaxy a52 5g and i want to use a camera which is able on super fast shutter speeds at a concert environment. So i can catch the movement without blurred images. . If a band is rocking out i want to capture that in a single shot without any hazing. As of yet i have not found anything that is good enough. Or is it time to go back to a static camera

    • @RJBaculo
      @RJBaculo  Před 6 dny

      Unfortunately, a phone camera will be very limited, especially in such an environment. First, the sensors of all smartphones are relatively small meaning less light and information are being captured. Second, most smartphone cameras have fixed apertures, which mean to allow more light (exposure) you will have to lower shutter speed which will create echoey movements OR increase ISO which will make your footage noisy. The only way you'll get good concert footage with a smartphone is if the event is abundantly and constantly lit up. Otherwise, consider attaching a portable LED light on your smartphone rig. Hope that helps.

      @@RJBaculo Attaching a LED light onto my my phone.: I would have a bouncer flashing their torch into my my face as soon as the LED lights up. It would be ok in small pub gigs but anything bigger with a press pit full of security would easily notice it. Also with bigger gigs i tend to get to the venue two hours before the doors open so i can grab that barrier spot. It wouldn`t take long for someone to have a word wit me.. Thanks for all the advice . It;s a shame that the smart phone are not as smart as they should be and that a simple SLR camera will always be the thing to go for

    Mcpro24fps

  • @amermeleitor
    @amermeleitor Před rokem +2

    While (for me) MotionCam and McPro24fps are the real kings, best video camera apps, there are other options, for free or cheaper:
    - OpenCamera, great app with the worst user interface of the whole universe 😅. But you have total control over the process (if you can figure how to control). It's free
    - HedgeCam2, same as OpenCamera
    - ProShot. Please try it. For me it have all the basics: disable noise reduction, shooting in flat mode and Log mode, access to all camera modules (even the ones that are not supposed to be for video, like the 2mp black and white depth sensor), access to all possible resolutions in your phone camera (4.8k in my principal camera module), access to all fps possible, h.264 and h.265 codecs, etc. It allows to control the bitrate in the "quality" setting. It's my favorite by far, and my most used camera app.
    - Cinema4k, allows you to disable noise reduction and use flat mode, and configure the flat mode for light, dark or both. The app allows to control the bitrate. Very simple and easy
    - Cinema FV-5. Nothing special, not a great video app, BUT it gives you one good advice. In the video configuration, when you go to set the bitrate the app tells you what it's the max bitrate for the controller of the camera. It's a good info to know.
