Cracking video - you’ve definitely suffering from the koi bug 😂 😂. I’m not convinced this is your forever pond 😉. Ponds are like houses, never big enough. Your misses understands your enthusiasm… crack on - no risk no reward 👍 👍💪💪
What a clever guy. I think yours will be as good as koi whisperers that takes some beating his filter house is amazing I think yours will be aswell. Awesome buddy. Staysafe. Can't wait for the pour an blockwork.
flying through it mate. i can tell how buzzing you are. im buzzing for you lol. you got it all worked out so hopefully all goes to plan. look forward to next instalment
Absolutely Fantastic Lee, The one thing I would do with regards to the return you may want to install at the end of the pond is install the pipeline and hole were it enters the pond and just cap it off . This will save the hassle of draining and core drilling and you will have a lovely fiberglass finish and not the silicone job that could cause issues in the future then if you find you need it . Just uncap it and away you go mate.
What a brilliant video blow me away, you could lay insulation on floor and walls, you are doing an excellent job mate don't listen to criticism your pond your work 👍 😀 👏
I didn't like the idea at first with the pond returns but the more you explained how it was going to work I really like the idea. That's going to be an epic pond that mate. I'm looking forward to watching this build 👍
I would put some rebar under where the blockwork is going at least or extend the mesh underneath where the walls are going. All the pressure will be on those walls and it could snap on the weak spot which is the edge of the mesh in the pad. Known as breaking it's back. Subscribed for the build. Good luck with it Lee.
OUTSTANDING 👏👍……but shouldn’t the skimmer be at the other end🤔. Loving the single flow direction idea (as per Ricky)👍. It’s going to be epic so can’t wait to see the next update. BTW, thank you for the parcel😊😊😊 arrived while I was working away so apologies for the delay in letting you know, I’ll wear it with pride while sinking a cold one to celebrate the start of your build👍😊. Take care buddy👍🐟🈲😊
Gl with the slab pour, I wouldn't have put the skimmer in between the showers as all the flows pushing away from the skimmer, but just read your putting it the other side now so deleted that bit of thought lol nice work 👍
Another amazing build!! With your purge lines, it might be worth (if possible) adding the ball valves as close as possible to the T pieces, am thinking that it would potentially be a place for stagnant water/muck to build up between purges, which could be a dead area for parasites etc to lurk in the system. You could probably get around this issue (if it is an issue) by opening the valves regularly and purging a bit of water from the pipes. Hope this makes sense, really looking forward to progress.
Great seeing this build, on queni koi ponds they have a bad dead spot on the surfaceof in-between the spin drifters, also the air coming up will stop the flow of water getting to the skimmer, although in theory the idea for the showers would work , but I think the power of the returns and the showers will also push water away from the skimmer away. Good luck with the build mate👍
@@leehadfield6881 sometimes it's best to do a few drawings with different idea's of flow and air before starting but even then we always tinker with our ponds 😁👍
Everything looking good matey, you could return the bakki showers through pipe instead of a normal weir that way they can be aimed and not effect the skimmer as much.kraftys lookalike was epic😂😂
Awesome Lee! You are flying through the build mate! I've just started the rebuild of my pond(videos on my new CZcams channel very soon 😃) and I can't believe how much progress you have made! Morning Lee, Hope you are well? i dont think the skimmer will work there as all the flow will pushing it away to the other end of the pond mate a bit like trying to swim in a strong current.
Morning lee, i watch you're movie's with much pleasure from holland. Before you do the skimmer i want to ask you how is all the surfacerubbish gonna get to your skimmer if you gonna push all the water away from it with your returns and showers from that site.. why dont you put your skimmer in the opposite site??looks like me that that is a little issue.. Ok, I am going to sound mean for a bit. The pipes should have been insulated. The depth of your pond is not enough to make the argument of the ground retaining heat, so you will 100% definitely get heat loss through those pipes. Even frost can reach close to half a metre below the ground in the UK. The ground has absolutely no insulating properties; it is a heat sink. The koi community is full of myths and inaccuracies; especially when it comes to insulating anything. If you want full heat retention in this pond; you need to educate yourself on building requirements for insulation; find "Building Regulations Part L" online and read that. Insulation is very expensive but you pay for that upfront so that in the long term you experience less cost heating. If you are using some sort of foam insulation, it will need to be at least 100mm thick; a lot more than people think. If you can't wait for pipe insulation you improvise; wrap them in a flexible PE foam carpet underlay to your desired thickness - a lot cheaper too... This comment may sound negative; not my intention; I like your channel, I think that you do koi keeping at a very high standard and I like you.
