Pond build sounds like it's going to be a good one, I look forward to a future update. Take it easy
Great update Jack on the pond at first I thought it was your own build at home , but great work you have both done. Wish I had known you when we built our pond stay safe and well
🙏🐟🐟 🐟🙏
Looking forward to following this build 😀 Jack 😀
Nice information pond building video. Cant wait for next video 🙏👌⛩️
Nice vid Jack, hope to be doing a build soon, so very interesting 😀. Thanks for inspiring me to get into koi. I really do enjoy and appreciate your work. 👍
Lookin good bro, looked a real hot day jeeeezzzz
Enjoyed this!
You sounded knackered at the end Jack 🤣
Mate it was through that mad heatwave we had it was 36 degrees when this was filmed lol
Surely damp laying that ballast and cement would give you a 50% stronger base and also save on all the hassle and weight of water when barrowing through?
Quality mate, I have my bike theory test on wednesday how mad. Good luck pal
Looks a cracking build so far. Should have been on that boat on a day like that though bro 🤣🤣🤣
Just womdered if this was ever completed? Was it not filmed or footage lost? I appreciate it was probably around thvtime of the fire and starting the farm etc. Has the pipework held up and its a working pond? 👍
Hey Marcia,
Yep it was around the time of the house fire so Cain continued the build, it’s a stunning pond now
Feedback…..
- should have cut back the sides more / shuttered to prevent soil collapsing on a newly poured floor
- drain pipework far to long and too many bends for that length of pipe
- nexus filter run typically best at around 8-10000lph. Not fast enough to keep a drain line clean so you need a purge valve. To purge that length of pipework will use a serious amount of water. Will be a right ball ache
- did you test the drain pipework with water first to check for leaks before concreting in place. CT1 should not be required if the joints have been done properly (and tested)
- sieves come before the nexus not after
- 4” base seems very thin for a 3m x 2.5m footprint even with rebar . Although the hardcore base looks good.
- a cetus sieve is £645 new not £300
Cheers for the feedback buddy, I have a spare ceitus sieve that I’m selling Cain for 300
Pipe work was tested and Cain wanted ct1 as an extra fail safe, not needed I agree, but it’s the customers choice
There will be a purge line installed on the bottom drain line
The sides were very hard and no risk of collapse and has now been blocked and glassed
None of the above is meant in a stroppy reply mate, I appreciate all feedback
Hi. 1st time I've seen your video.
I've got a pond, I cemented concrete garden slabs to the base & sides, so far it's working great, what do you think of that idea?
I'm going to extend the pond & was thinking of having g a gradient & laying long drains at the bottom, the type you see around buildings, with the grid on the top, I have a few metre lengths of, will that be OK? My thought are that it will cover the whole width of the pond in several locations.

Hi David, appreciate the support buddy thank you! Personally I would just use pond bottom drains into a 4 inch or 110mm pipe as you will need the pull of the water buddy
@@TheBaldingReefer Thanks.
What about my concrete garden slabs?
What do you mean 'pull off'?
Always like to see another pond build. I’m starting to extend my existing pond. The bottom drain you feature in the video - is this the same you have on your site?… good to meet you at the Newark show, looking forward to see how the pond evolves 👍
Hey rob! It’s sure is buddy! It’s a great bottom drain and super budget friendly too
Looking good 😎 don’t suppose you are looking forward to doing that in my build 😂……don’t worry already compacted and concrete will be poured 😂 😆👍
Is that soil waste pipe you're using? I wondered if it could be used instead of koi pipe as the price difference is incredible and I figured that it must be pressure pipe as it's used underground on every building site in the country. What fittings do you use with it? TIA x 👍
Hi Marcia, it is indeed 110mm house drainage pipe, and we used the house couplings too
@@TheBaldingReefer great thanks, look forward to seeing the rest of the build 👍
Looking good Jack.....a lot of hard work!! 🥵
Where can you get a Cetus sieve for £300?!! I need one, can you supply one at that price? Can add it to my order!! Cheers mate, hope you got some good rest after, you sound knackered! xx
Hi Heidi,
It’s an spare one I have had for a while now, hence the price being only £300
I’ll text over winter hahah x
@@TheBaldingReefer what a bummer, thought I'd found a bargain!
Looking forward to receiving my fish soon xx
Great video bud really enjoyed it but I think you need to start going to the gym 🤣 you was out of breath through the whole video bless ya 😊
Mate it was 36 degrees on this day during the heatwave, but yes my wobbly butt needs to get in the gym
@@TheBaldingReefer haha well least you didn't have to do the digging in that heat although tampering is bad enough in it been there done that 😅
About time you came back to earth. I didn't enjoy the polissh exploits. What's happening with the lake ?
Still doing Yoshikigoi buddy! The lake is flying along, another video dropping shortly mate
Anyone in liverpool area want a free mirror carp about 30cm sorry to use ur channel to my advantage jack but needs must or even u poles get it in the freezer drag it out crimbo day boom crimbo day little hat on crackers an the scran sorted boom feeding the world aswell
@@koidream54 cheers mate got some small koi that dont get a chance to eat with them
Corners cut all over the place 🤦🏼♂️ you’d have been better actually measuring the water you put into the concrete mixes so they were the same on each mix even if you added a certain amount until you got the right consistency.
Hi Simon, appreciate your feedback but I don’t feel any corners were cut
We showed an honest build and don’t tart anything up for CZcams, all the mixes were very very close to each other with consistency and you’ll see that on the next video instalment, the base turned out really well
@@graham3987 Not at all, if you’re offering services for quotes on pond builds then don’t cut corners and do things properly instead of on the cheap.
You saying wagwan put me right off watching your video.. you're not Jamaican, and you don't know patois.. you're even not saying it right.. JUST STOP!!!
Sorry, I might be being thick here. Where's part 2 and beyond please? I am wanting to build my own 1st pond and been directed to follow you. I've just watched your box liner video and now feel confident in doing that, but want to watch this build in it's entirety
