Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are one of the very few groups that consistently incorporate rock /metal with pop, synth-pop, edm. They are a group with horror and dystopian themes in their music. They debuted in 2017 and consist of 7 members, who are all massively talented:
JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami, and Gahyeon.
Their Nightmare series goes in the order:
    Chase Me
    Good Night
Fly High (prequel to Chase Me)
    You & I
    What
    Piri (end of Nightmare series)
Breaking Out (Japanese track with an alternative and more widely accepted end to the Nightmare series)
    Stand alone:
    Deja Vu
    BEcause
    Dystopia trilogy:
    Scream
    Boca
    Odd Eye
    Apocalypse trilogy:
    Maison
    Vision
    Bon Voyage
These all are their Korean title tracks. Along with those they also have Japanese ones too. Their B sides are a different beast altogether where they have experimented with several genres, and they don't disappoint one bit.
Before Dreamcatcher, they were Minx, which consisted of 5 members: JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Yoohyeon, and Dami. Minx debuted in 2014 with a cute bubble pop theme. They were literally up against the biggest groups you see today, and failed miserably, lasting just 2 years. The company, HappyFace Entertainment, seeing their talent, decided to re debut them with 2 new members Handong and Gahyeon, in 2017 with an entirely different concept which was unheard of in kpop then. And that's how Dreamcatcher was born.

This EDM/NuMetal hybrid gem (we can't call it little anymore, with almost 50 million views) is the actual song that saved Dreamcatcher and propelled them to international stardom. It was released along Dreamcatcher's first studio album (called Dystopia: The Tree of Language - the best they ever made with 9 amazing songs and 4 singles) and came right after their masterpiece Deja Vu. Scream marks the beginning of the Dystopia Trilogy, dealing with the woes of our modern cyber world. It represents the Hear No Evil 🙉part of the Trilogy and urges the listener not to listen or support to the online haters, the gossip and the online witch hunts. The Devil Eyes in the choreo are an old gesture to ward off evil.

Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point.
If you want to hear them rock out fully, check out "Endless Night"!

For a "How did Dreamcatcher happen?" guide, Mera's "Dodging Disbandment and Other Extreme Sports: A History of Dreamcatcher", as already suggested by other folks, is absolutely the best.
You can never go wrong with any video by "insomnicsy". Kit's entire channel is dedicated to Dreamcatcher! ❤️
The one thing about Dreamcatcher is you should watch the videos in release order for any of the series. And "Breaking Out" is the *true* ending of the Nightmare series. 🧶

Thanks for checking out Scream! This is the first part of their Dystopia Trilogy and was the title track for their first full album, Dystopia: The Tree of Language.
Jiu, Sua, Siyeon, Yoohyeon, Dami, & Gahyeon are all Korean.
Handong, who was in OOTD (she was the blond one with the pink dress) but not in Scream and Boca is Chinese. She was away for the Scream & Boca promotions due to participating in Youth with You, a Chinese Idol reality show, and then got stuck there due to Covid restrictions. The last song in the trilogy, Odd Eye, was their first release since Handong returned so she'll make an appearance in that song.
If you're interested in Dance you should check out their Dance performances or practices as well. They're great dancers and their choreography is very theatrical and works with the lyrics to tell parts of the story.

Yes, Mera's video is IMHO the best intro to show the path of the group and what they went through to get where they are now....and the video Mera put together so nicely has also quite funny parts in it (the Game of Thrones reference, the Management discussion, etc.). 🤣
After that it will be clear what the first music show win with "Maison" ment for each member and also the "Reason" MV is a quick review of all this.
After that feel free to continue with the content Insomnicsy put out (the "This is..." series highlighting each member) or the stuff from the official Dreamcatcher channel....there is so much out there.

There are quite a number of guides out there for Dreamcatcher (some better than others) and the one I would recommend is The Ultimate 2021/2022 Dreamcatcher Guide - Dreamworld
It is somewhat dated by now, and there are more recent guides, but I still think this is the best one to get to know the members and the group as a whole.
And you also won't get any spoilers for more recent comebacks ;)

Musically Dreamcatcher title tracks will always feature some variety of rock/metal. Their b-sides often leave that behind completely, getting into jazz, R&B, many piano ballads, trap, drum & bass, funk, a dip into reggae... too much to list fully. When you feel like exploring the spectrum, Deja Vu is very popular and the farthest from the conventional Dreamcatcher sound any of their title tracks have gone. Red Sun is their most popular b-side and completely unrelated to rock or metal.

At some point you might want to check out the Lyrics and figure out the story as Dreamcatcher title tracks tend to go really deep and almost every frame has a meaning.
Here is some context to better understand the video:
Scream is the first part of the Dystopia Trilogy: This trilogy talks about Cyberbullying and the power of language and how it can hurt someone if used in a negative way. It portrays their attempt at facing the Dystopian reality that is hidden in the world of social media. The center of the story is the tree of language that is turning black due to negativism after the curse of the evil language was released (depicted as opening Pandora's box in Scream) and the light provided by positive words fade out. The order of the title tracks is: Scream (Hear no Evil) - happening in the Past - Fantasy vibes Boca (Speak no Evil - Boca is the Spanish word for mouth) - Present timeline Odd Eye (See no Evil) - Futuristic vibes M/V: The dancer with the mask on is reserving the spot for Handong. (stuck in China due to CoVid)
First you mostly see the members wearing white, that is their pure uncorrupted form and they gradually take on the black outfit after waking up to new world of hatred. The masks otherwise represent anonymity provided by social media. 3:18 is when Gahyeon breaks the container of the curse and negativism starts spreading (Explosion around the tree) It is also shown that this has happened some time in the past and negativism is ever since part of our society. (3:20 the ancient texts light up) 3:25 they point fingers at her for doing it. Similar to their other M/Vs like Deja Vu the storytelling is not linear. Anyway in Scream the members are already wearing black but still asleep at the beginning 1:14. ("My covered eyes are stained with blood", 1:52 shows the loss of the white form. There is even a transitioning outfit with JiU with White on top of black 1:55. The purple fog with the evil words 2:05 is the curse basically, the scenes with purple with black outfit are the corrupted areas. We see how the spreading works in the bridge when Siyeon is still wearing white 3:32 while the other six members are already in black and around the now corrupted tree (purple) and they walk away from her wearing some black already and in 3:51 she wakes up wearing black. It is also important to note that one of the important message is how the "Please I don't want to scream" turns into Siyeon eventually singing "I just want to make you scream", meaning that basically negativism corrupts people turning them from victims to perpetrators. 3:58 "Dami: and one by one everyone becomes crazy. And finally now all of them wearing black walk away while the I do not want to scream turns into I just want to make YOU scream.
Additional comments to the performance itself: The Choreography of Scream is really hard, worth checking out the dance practice with fix camera for it.

If you want a good guide : "Dodging Disbandment and other Extreme Sports" is a great one.
As for the song, you are right! This comes before Boca, and Odd Eye comes after. The story is roughly that they are goddesses/guardians of the tree of language. The tree of language is dying because of well, how we use language to harm. Boca covers their attempts to stop the hate, but they actually end up spreading it and even hurting each other. (Hate can't stop hate). Odd Eye covers their final attempt.
It also does some cool things with sound. Scream is meant to represent the past and witch hunts, so there's more of that classical sound and imagery, while Boca is the present.

So glad you made the Linkin Park - Dreamcatcher connection! Six members are Korean. There is a Chinese member Handong who was in China (Wuhan) when they did Scream and Boca. In Scream you may notice there is a seventh dancer wearing a mask who was acting as a placeholder for Handong. Also a lyric/lore point - the first two choruses of Sceram are "Please don't make me scream" (they are victims) and the final chorus is "I just wanna make you scream" (They have had enough and they are fighting back). And when we get to the sequel Boca they are in full avenging angel/ fury mode. Also there are classical musicians on Reactothek who react to Kpop music and they LOVE Dreamcatcher.

🎸 Hey V&T, for more rock music, check out Rolling Quartz (touring Europe in Jan/Feb). They did a great cover of Dreamcatcher's "Good Night" [2nd in Nightmare series], and both groups use the same video production company, so you'll eventually notice the same locations & sets showing up.
Rolling Quartz is a five-member, all-woman, South Korean rock band that *officially* debuted almost three years ago, but have been together since summer of 2019. They have MVs for most songs, including lots of covers & collaborations, plus lots of free online concerts, etc.
Lastly, Dreamcatcher will be going on a "world tour" after celebrating their 7th anniversary kick-off concert in Seoul on January 13th (which might get livestreamed, but not yet confirmed nor denied.) The other world tour locations & dates have not been announced yet. Don't even know which continents.
