    I am 73 and I completely changed my swing watching Saguto Golf. My best HC was 10 and i was consistently around 12. After shoulder surgery I went to a 16, still trying to avoid shoulder pain. Now I am back to a 13, with no shoulder, knee or back pain. Pay attention, you might learn something! You will not regret the change.

      It is difficult for me to find appropriate words to respond. First and foremost, thank you for your service to your country and may God bless you in your efforts to reclaim the life that He intended for you.
      As you are learning, golf mimics life and in some ways, golf mimics combat - all be it (mostly) non-bloody. Man vs. the course. Man vs. the elements. Man vs. himself. The latter is the most epic of battles. The swing motion can be counterintuitive to the brain, and as a result the mind and body are seemingly constantly at odds. It can be a truly epic struggle for those who are not well-armed with proper knowledge.
      In my instruction I do my best to simplify that which was perceived to be incomprehensibly difficult if not impossible to many, thereby syncing up brain and body to execute a powerful, repeatable, low-maintenance motion that produces a level of consistency and ball striking previously thought to be unattainable. In this regard, I am glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you, and I sincerely appreciate your very kind words in that regard!
      Thank you again. Your message has made my day, and I wish you all the best in life and in golf!

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  Před měsícem +3

      I appreciate that!
      The lateral targetward action of the hips acts as a governor to prevent a premature over-rotation and thereby enables the player to keep their upper torso square and their swing center intact without having to fight their body. It's also a very powerful move that you will notice with every great ball striker. (Cue up a face-on video of any Tour player, put your finger, mouse pointer, or some other reference tool on their lead hip at address, and then observe the extent to which the hips move laterally past your pointer in the downswing while the head - and thus the swing center - remains in place.) Most amateur golfers already have plenty of the rotational component; they need to build in the lateral hip slide to suppress the early-onset spinout that causes so many to get steep and across the line, or they get stuck, early extend, flip, etc.
      Would you like to learn some key aspects of the swing I teach in a more structured manner? I won’t tell you here the whole story of my life as a golfer which started in 1990 ( I’m 61) but I played just yesterday for the first time S& T without any practice but watching and watching Saguto and it was… amazing. Easy and accurate !
    I CAN’T UNDERSTAND why and how the S&T isn’t instructed by pros above all!? That’s the best way for a consistent and enjoyable swing for everyone. Happy with Saguto, sad to have waste 3 decades by imitating the best players in the world who have a swing which must be worked 6 hours /day and have a lot of S&T in their game though.

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  Před 8 dny

      That is fantastic! I am very glad to know that my instruction for this fabulous Stack and Tilt swing system is resonating with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing and putting it into play!
      Sadly, Stack and Tilt was relentlessly attacked by the "mainstream" of failed "instruction" whose erroneous concepts were threatened by the truth, and their nefarious efforts successfully - albeit temporarily - attached an undeserving "stigma" to the S&T name among those who chose not to do their own research.
      The bottom line is this: The body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance Stack and Tilt swing system is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology, and it is modeled on empirical observations of the game's greatest ball strikers. As such it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everyone in between, inclusive of the best players in the world. As you observe, we can watch any Tour event on TV and we'll see a significant number of players executing these motions, a fact corroborated by just how many of them have a very centered swing with the lead knee flexing and the trail leg straightening during the backswing, their lead arms on or very close to their tilted shoulder planes, and their hands deep behind their trail shoulder at the top.
      Thousands of folks across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result of learning this swing system through my online school, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. Compare and contrast that with the sad reality that despite all the advances in equipment, technology, golf course grooming, etc. the average golfer still struggles to break 100. Epic failures within that realm of “conventional” instruction, perhaps??? So many misconstrued and/or misguided teachings - such as taking the club straight back, turning the shoulders level while independently lifting the arms, shifting into and torquing against a firm trail side, firing the hips, actively rolling the hands through impact, etc. - have relegated generations of golfers to the vast abyss of inconsistency and chronic frustration (and chronic back/knee/hip pain as well).
      Thanks so much for your kind remarks and for sharing your improvement, and keep up the great work!! 💪💪
      Tom
      PS: By the way, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them.
      If you've not already joined, have you considered enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? That's where - in addition to detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish - you'll find diagnostic tools for identifying/resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise, plus advanced level instruction, and much more. At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet

      Because it "feels" like a chop. As if you're pulling a lawn mower cord to start it.

    This is great timing for me, I retired 6 months ago and I’m getting back into the game, my golf swing isint bad, but I’ve been struggling with getting to the photo finish or breaking through like you are showing, on one hand I try not to get ahead of the swing, so I feel like I need to slow down my transition from the top, but that sometimes leads to not getting through the swing, and leaving my shot ballooning right. I’ve watch a lot of golf coach’s over the years but you are far the best at breaking down the mechanics of the swing. I watch you daily thanks for all your help. Sam.

    Great tip as usual. I have been following your channel for 2 years and I am striking my irons better than ever. Still need to translate this to the driver!

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  Před 23 dny

      I'm glad you enjoyed it, Jeffrey, and I'm very glad to learn of your ball striking improvement!!
      It is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: czcams.com/video/o0xscMyN3v8/video.html Beyond that, if you search the word "drive" on this channel you'll see some related content.
      Oftentimes when golfers are hitting everything well except for the driver it can be attributed to one of the following:
      1) Their hips are not continuing their lateral slide through impact. This is common with the driver as the wider stance means that the hips have a greater distance to travel. If the hips stop moving laterally towards the target on the downswing then their rotation takes over, inhibiting any further necessary forward weight loading (we should be 80/20 forward halfway down, 90/10 at impact, and 95/5 in the finish), changing the low point and rerouting the club into a steeper angle of attack (AoA). This can produce a variety of undesirable results including fat and thin contact, topped shots and popups, straight pulls, and “banana” slices.
      Of great importance is keeping your upper torso/head in place (in other words, not moving towards the target from a face-on view) while the hips execute the lateral slide action. This preserves the swing center and the desired shallow AoA.
      2) They are not allowing the length of the club to dictate the backswing path and are getting too steep as a result. The shaft of the driver is considerably longer than the other clubs and thus requires more of an around the body backswing as established by the shaft plane at address. It may "feel" flat as they take it back along the shaft plane for the first few feet, but as long as they maintain the "weight forward, shoulder down, and hands in" components while allowing the club to work around them, it should put them in the proper position at the top so they can attack the ball from the inside. (A good feel for that lead shoulder is "down and in, under the chin".)
      3) Many believe - and some even teach - that we must try to "hit up on the ball" with the driver. However, consider that in our stock setup with the driver the hands are even with the inside of the lead thigh (as they are with all clubs when playing a standard shot) and our ball position is even with the inside of the heel of the lead foot. This presets a very slight degree of forward shaft lean with the driver. Beyond that, the ball is behind the zero-point of the swing (which is even with the lead shoulder), meaning that without any contrived manipulations the club will still be on its descent - albeit very close to flat - at impact. So, perhaps with the exception of folks with slower swing speeds - or those Long Drive participants teeing it extra high and hitting maybe 1-2 balls out of 10 onto a 60-yard wide "fairway" - in general the path is still ever so slightly down. In fact, the PGA Tour average with the driver is actually minus (e.g.: downward) 1.5 degrees - nearly level - and it should feel level - but slightly down nonetheless. (Here is an article on Ping’s website addressing this topic - ping.com/en-us/blogs/proving-grounds/optimal-launch-and-spin#:~:text=According%20to%20Trackman%2C%20PGA%20Tour,85%25%20ball%2Dflight%20laws )

    The head keeping still has been key for me Tom! In order to keep my head still I now slow my backswing down significantly and drag the club back longer - as a result I am getting a much better shoulder turn and my drives are a crazy 30-40 yards longer. An excellent tip for my "Striking Machine" Tom! I have always liked the slight lateral move forward and then rotation over any other downswing move. When I don't get the lateral move in my swing, the shot is always a push right or a pull left. Thanks for the enlightenment Saguto!

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  Před 29 dny

      I appreciate your validating remarks, John! The lateral targetward action of the hips acts as a governor to prevent a premature over-rotation and thereby enables the player to keep their upper torso square and their swing center intact without having to fight their body. It's also a very powerful move that you will notice with every great ball striker. Most amateur golfers already have plenty of the rotational component; they need to build in the lateral hip slide to suppress the early-onset spinout that causes so many to get steep and across the line, or they get stuck, early extend, flip, etc.
      Thanks for your message and keep up the great work!

    Well Tom i finally gave in. I got tired of chunking and thinning the golf ball. I tried to keep my pressure on the left side and started with it at setup. I will say it was alot easier for me if I got a wider stance and cocked my right foot to the right a tiny bit as like a rebound incase i was to get over to the right to much. Ill say great consistency, just was a little trouble getting used to putting my hands at my left thigh and the ball not be in the middle of my feet lol. Thanks tom.

      @SagutoGolf  Před 23 dny

      Nice job, Jacob!! I'm glad to learn of your ball striking improvement through your incorporating the weight-forward component.
      With regard to ball position, we first need to be aware that camera angles can greatly skew the viewer's perspective in this regard. That aside, while this system affords you some leeway, in general once my students and members show some level of proficiency with the swing I suggest that they migrate to a stock ball position that is in the middle of the stance for short irons, two balls inside the lead heel for middle irons, and creeping more forward for the longer clubs - the farthest forward being even with the inside of the lead heel for the driver (with the stance width increasing as we move from shorter to longer clubs). From there they can make incremental tweaks to see how different positions affect impact quality and shot shape.
      By the way, while there are certainly other videos on my channel that address the topic of the forward weight load, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews

    Last Monday's video helped me quite a bit on my last two outings, and I'm thinking this will too. Saturday I played a pretty trouble-free round (for me) on a windy, cart-path-only day. Shot a 91, not great, but nothing worse than a double bogey and even when I tried to really screw up a par-5 on the back, I managed to take a drop from 188 yards out and hit a beautiful 4-hybrid shot that I found six feet from the hole and managed to save a bogey when realistically I would have normally carded a snowman or worse.

      I appreciate your interest! I had phased out private lessons (both in-person and virtual) awhile back so I could dedicate more time to my online school. I've not yet set a specific date for when I will resume them (it should be fairly soon), but when I do the virtual lessons will be reserved exclusively for my online school members. In-person lessons at my South Carolina location will be open to members and non-members. If you are in my online school please send me a message through the "chat" feature and I will add you to my list to be notified when slots open up. Also, I do offer an a la carte swing video analysis service to my school members as a means to support their progress in the school. Here is a link where you can learn more: noodle.shop/sagutogolf
      If you are not in the school yet, then that would be a great starting point as the school is designed to get golfers on the fast track towards properly learning this swing system in a comprehensive, structured, sequential platform. That is where you will find very detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish, along with diagnostic and corrective tools for resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues, and much more. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet.

      Stick around here, John - it is the land of shocking surprises and unrevealed truths aplenty. Such sorcery from this dark underworld of golf instruction rarely finds its way to the mainstream because if too many folks found out about it the mainstream would then be rendered irrelevant.... 😆😆
      Seriously, this body-friendly, powerful, low-maintenance swing system is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology, and it is modeled on empirical observations of the game's greatest ball strikers. As such it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everyone in between, inclusive of the best players in the world. So really we can watch any Tour event on TV or in person - as I did at the Myrtle Beach Classic yesterday - and we'll see a significant number of players executing these motions, a fact corroborated by just how many of them have a very centered swing with the lead knee flexing and the trail leg straightening during the backswing, their lead arms on or very close to their tilted shoulder planes, and their hands deep behind their trail shoulder at the top.
      Thanks -- I sincerely appreciate your validating remarks and support!!

      I am very glad to learn of your improvement, Rendy, and I appreciate your support!!
      Uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies are on my to-do list for online school lesson content. Having said that, the keys to playing a shot when the ball is below your feet are in 1) adjusting your setup to properly orient yourself to the ball (since it will be closer to you, your upper body will be angled more towards the ground than on a standard shot), 2) balancing yourself as you may need to feel your weight more towards the heels of your feet depending on the severity of the slope, 3) taking an extra club or two than you normally would from the given distance, and 4) aligning yourself with the expectation that the ball will fade. Once you are oriented, balanced, and properly aligned, you are ready to execute the swing as taught. Bump your hips forward an inch as you typically would so your weight favors the front side 55-60%, and when you take it back make sure that your weight stays forward and your shoulders do not flatten out as they turn, as they will have a tendency to do so due to their preset steeper orientation. In fact, a good thought for this shot is to keep the chest pointing down as you turn, since mishits from this type of lie are oftentimes a result of the golfer coming out of his or her tilt in the backswing.
      Conversely, a ball above your feet will necessitate having your upper body oriented for a less steep shoulder turn that allows the club to work more around the body, weight perhaps favoring the balls of the feet depending on slope severity, and allowing for a drawing ball flight. You'll likely need to choke down on the club a bit, and for this reason plus the curvature you may also want to club up for this shot, bearing in mind that the ball may tend to roll out more upon landing due to the draw spin. Once again, after making these adjustments you'll want to execute the swing motions as taught - weight forward, tilt/turn/extend, hands in, keeping your swing center intact.
      The short answer with regard to uphill and downhill lies is to 1) Match your shoulders to the angle of the slope, 2) Widen your stance a bit for stability, 3) Understand that an uphill slope is going to add loft whereas a downhill slope will reduce loft and produce more runout, so adjust your club selection accordingly, 4) Make a practice swing next to the ball to determine your swing's low point on that particular slope, and then address the ball so that the low point is just ahead of it, 5) Anticipate the potential for more draw spin on uphill lies and fade spin on downhill lies depending on the severity of the slope, and align accordingly, and 6) Do your best to keep your center intact as you swing since any swaying will shift your low point and cause inconsistent results.
      I hope that helps. Keep up the great work!
      Tom

    A word to the wise....
    This move is absolutely critical to what Tom teaches. IMO it is the single most critical part of a SNT downswing. Do everything else right and don't do this and you will struggle. Also do not ever try to add pieces of this to a traditional swing, they don't play nice together. If you are going to watch and implement Tom's advice you have to go all in!!! You cannot a-la-carte what he teaches. He is one of the best I have run into in quite some time. Great advice...

      Very wise words indeed, Jerry! 😎
      Folks MUST be careful in navigating the muddied, overly-complicated, oft-conflicting realm of golf instruction. It's best to commit to a system - whether it be this body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance method or another - put their blinders on, and stick to it. And if they do decide to implement the system I teach, then they should strongly consider enrolling in the online school and taking their learning - and game - to the next level. That's where - in addition to detailed lessons and drills that take them through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish - they'll find diagnostic tools for identifying/resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise, plus advanced level courses, and much more. Saw this from another site: Driver and irons are different, so require a different approach. If you were stood up against a wall you should see these differences at impact.
    Concept:
    Iron - strike wall
    Driver - avoid wall
    The result should be a greater chance to create the needed attack angle with each of these clubs 🙌

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  Před 26 dny

      HI Michael,
      In the swing system I teach that is actually not the case! In fact, it is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: czcams.com/video/o0xscMyN3v8/video.html Beyond that, if you search the word "drive" on this channel you'll see some related content.
      I am aware that many folks out there believe - and some even teach - that we must try to "hit up on the ball" with the driver. However, consider that in our stock setup with the driver the hands are even with the inside of the lead thigh (as they are with all clubs when playing a standard shot) and our ball position is even with the inside of the heel of the lead foot. This presets a very slight degree of forward shaft lean with the driver. Beyond that, the ball is behind the zero-point of the swing (which is even with the lead shoulder/armpit), meaning that without any contrived manipulations the club will still be on its descent - albeit very close to flat - at impact.
      For these reasons I do not advocate trying to hit up on the ball, and efforts to do so due to erroneous advice have caused many an amateur significant issues with their driver.
      Here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” where you can learn some aspects of the system I teach in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/ This will provide a nice foundational understanding of the swing keys that will ultimately get you mashing the ball through your entire bag.

      Welcome to "the dark side", where the spoils of "conventional" instruction - chronic inconsistency, physical pain, and endless frustration - yield to the fruits of body-friendly enjoyment of this great game for a lifetime. 😎
      I'm very glad to have you on board!!
      The lateral targetward action of the hips acts as a governor to prevent a premature over-rotation and thereby enables the player to keep their upper torso square and their swing center intact without having to fight their body. It's also a very powerful move that you will notice with every great ball striker. (As I did with a couple of guys here, cue up a face-on video of any Tour player, put your finger, mouse pointer, or some other reference tool on their lead hip at address, and then observe the extent to which the hips move laterally past your pointer in the downswing while the head - and thus the swing center - remains in place.) Most amateur golfers already have plenty of the rotational component; they need to build in the lateral hip slide to suppress the early-onset spinout that causes so many to get steep and across the line, or they get stuck, early extend, flip, etc. Here are some lesson videos specific to this topic:
      - czcams.com/video/Us6jSgMvJmM/video.html
      - czcams.com/video/dB4ItR3guGU/video.html

      Only you and face-on video can answer that question. Set up the alignment stick "wall", hit the record button, and make your normal swing. I'm a big advocate of golfers getting their clubs professionally fitted, Marcus. We're all unique in our physical attributes (arm length, leg length, torso length, hand size, etc.), so there is no reason that we should try to fit our respective swings to a stock grip size, shaft length, flex, swing weight, lie angle, etc. Let's have the equipment accommodate us and not vice versa!
      Here is a video documenting my fitting session from a couple of years ago: czcams.com/video/xp2c-oYQRVI/video.html It was a real eye-opener for me!
      By the way, with regard to instruction, have you considered the comprehensive, structured, sequential learning platform of my online school? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Additionally, you'll have access to all my short game content (putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play), advanced level material, diagnostic and corrective tools for resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues, and much more. Thousands of men and women from across the globe spanning all age ranges and experience levels are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet.

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  Před 29 dny +1

      I'm glad you enjoyed it, Bob!

    I get what you're saying here. What about the guys that say you need to drive the left foot in the ground at or near contact to gain power from the ground? To me that sort of stops lateral hip movement. So should the hips initially break through the wall and then come back??

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  Před 7 dny

      Hi Terry,
      If the "leveraging of the ground" doesn't happen on autopilot, then the "feel" we like to ingrain is tucking the butt under the hips through the zone, which causes the belt buckle to raise up a few inches from pre- to post-impact. It can also be likened to a high jumper pushing off his or her lead leg as they propel themselves upward and over the bar. This releases the spine from flexion to extension - a very powerful move.
      In more general terms, I do my best to convey multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. We're all different physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with one golfer may not necessarily work for another. As such, it is important to understand that the lessons on this channel - while fully aligned with the swing method I teach - address a variety of topics, issues, feels, and/or common flaws/fixes from one episode to the next. They are certainly not intended to be taken as a comprehensive, step-by-step, position-by-position learning platform like the structured curriculum of my online school, which I strongly recommend to anyone who truly wishes to get on the proper path towards owning this swing as it will make for a far more efficient and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through my CZcams content. The lessons and drills provide the guidelines and set the boundaries, while allowing ample leeway for each individual golfer to infuse and exercise their own uniqueness.

    There are SO many contradictory methods of playing good golf. Single plane, natural swing, stack-and-tilt -- the list seems endless. And they all (including yours) sound very plausible. Wondering if one is better suited to an individual, i.e., one should test them all first. I had a dynamic fitting last fall, and the fitter suggested I use (my 7 iron swing speed is ~ 85 mph) TT Elevate MPH 95 S shafts. I could swing much faster but noticed diminishing distance returns. A single plane fitting is static since the sole of the club or lie should be flat at impact if a single plane swing is done properly. That fitter told me I should use a Regular graphite shaft. What do you tell folks? I like hearing your crispy shots and uncomplicated instruction.

      Hi Jonathan,
      Yes - we must be careful in navigating the muddied, overly-complicated, oft-conflicting realm of golf instruction. That is not a dig against any other teachers or methods out there. It's simply best to commit to a system - whether it be this body-friendly, powerful, low-maintenance swing or another - put your blinders on, and stick to it. And if the Stack and Tilt system I teach appeals to you or at the very least stokes your curiosity, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews
      I do not make equipment recommendations aside from strongly suggesting a professional fitting. The differences between various shaft and head combinations can be dramatic as documented in this episode from a couple of years ago: czcams.com/video/xp2c-oYQRVI/video.html
      As for lie angle, consider that the ideal downswing path is the ideal downswing path, regardless of whether you lift the club up and must then "drop it in the slot" or - as taught here - you just keep it in that slot from the start!
      Thanks for your message. I appreciate your consideration!

      I don't know about that, Sam. It's really not anything I think about. I simply "allow" the swing to happen without forcing anything. In other words, if we pre-establish the connections properly in the setup and have a foundational base that facilitates a full centered turn without restriction, then once we've ingrained the correct actions through sequential drilling and repetition we can entrust the motion to the big muscles and allow the arms, wrists, hands, and club to simply go along for the ride and respond accordingly as if on autopilot. The power accumulators - including the proper arm, wrist, and hand action - will then naturally load and fire with no contrived manipulations or precise timing necessary, thereby returning the face to the position pre-established at address. It's called "giving up control to gain control", and it's the formula for consistently blissful ball striking and seemingly effortless power.

How do I get rid of the bow and use my left leg like a door hinge for more power and distance, without hurting my knee?

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  Před 2 dny

      It all begins with a proper setup, Joe. For example, the outward flaring of both feet 10-20 degrees in our setup facilitates the proper amount of body-friendly, free-flowing hip turn back and through. This is a major power move that also keeps the club traveling on the correct path. If you were to square your feet so that they were perpendicular to the target line, then your hips would be impeded from turning sufficiently in the backswing (which would then inhibit the shoulders from executing a full and effortless turn), and from releasing properly in the downswing to propel the club through the zone. Restricting this action can cause a variety of path issues and/or also place strain on the lead knee and the hip joints as the hips will "want" to move laterally and turn through into the finish but will be fighting the body in the process.

    Is your head staying centred, not going forward. Thanks

      Yes, Mark - it remains in place until after impact, when I allow it to release.

    Can you do a video on inside out shanks please!! 😅 asking for a freind.

      LOL! Your "friend's" shanks can be the result of a variety of actions, Russell: 1) They may be too steep on the downswing and thereby exposing the hosel to the ball; 2) Conversely, their downswing path may be too in to out (which you are suggesting may be your "friend's" issue); 3) They may be rolling the face open during the backswing; 4) Their wrists may not be hinging properly (which is often the case when a golfer tries to manufacture or force the hinge rather than just allowing it to happen); 5) They are setting up with the ball positioned at the heel of the club; 6) They are losing your pre-established relationship with the ball (i.e.: a deficiency in the Tilt component); 7) Some combination of any of the above; 8) More... What I'm getting at is that there are a number of potential causes, and without actually seeing your "friend's" swing it's impossible for me to identify the culprit behind their hosel rockets.
      FYI, there are entire sections of my online school dedicated to resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues. Has that friend of yours looked into it? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - they will find very detailed instruction and drills that takes them through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Thousands of folks across the globe are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews.
      Also, I do offer an a la carte swing video analysis service. Here is a link where your friend can learn more about this: noodle.shop/sagutogolf
      I hope this helps your friend....😎

    What about hitting driver

      This swing key also applies to the driver. In fact, it is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: czcams.com/video/o0xscMyN3v8/video.html
