    • @oK-tf3jj
      @oK-tf3jj Před 2 lety

      Is this because the temperature in the paint booth drain the battery fast or because the auto body shop may routinely disconnect all customer car batteries during paint process and reconnect them when completely finished? If shops know that doing that is bad for modern cars, why do they do it? Or I guess the question is, are they supposed to do it to protect batteries from paint booth temperature?

    FYI Scotty, the AstroAI Digital Clamp Meter, TRMS 6000 is advertised as an AC current meter only. Although the TRMS 6000 meter may be able to measure DC current the reason AstroAI indicates it is AC current only may be due to its inaccuracy when measuring DC current. Also the current scales on the TRMS 6000 meter are marked with a symbol indicating AC only; a letter "S" turned sideways. For it to indicate AC and DC there would be an underscore below the sideways letter "S". There are several other clamp meters advertised for under thirty dollars that do measure DC current.

    • @Bandolero318
      @Bandolero318 Před 4 lety +3

      Lower gas mileage is not a problem as you could buy a good Toyota cheap from the early 2000's. Also parts are not a problem as you can buy aftermarket parts cheap. Get a good car then no problems passing inspection. I bought a 2003 car for $2000 instead of buying a new car as it would take me over 10 years to break even with the fuel savings alone. One thing though, you must be able to work on cars yourself when small things go wrong.

    This is fantastic! I remember, in the '60's-'70's, I had a cheap, simple multimeter that let me work for years on my VW Bugs; but now, unless I can find a Bug that's intact enough to be a daily driver, I guess I'm going to change with times, and get a clamp-around probe-meter. I had no idea things had mutated to this degree of complexity. Thanks for bringing this knowledge to the unmechanicaI masses. I guess that, in order to generate really complex problems, you have to have a computer.

    There’s something not right about this… As a rule, clamp meters generally CANNOT measure DC current (although some of them with a Hall Effect sensor built into the clamp CAN). The meter in the video FOR SURE can’t measure DC current - it can only measure AC current! There are no markings on the front of the meter to select DC current measurements. Even the user manual doesn’t list it as being DC current capable in the specs. Also… unless the parking lamps are LED, they should draw a LOT more than 0.49 amps!
