You didnt get the sense about the 8k resolution. You nver upload an 8k video full 360 degree on youtube. 5.7k to 8k is a huge upgrade for reframing the material to 1080p for example. 78% more pixels. Much better than the X3

I do. I create 360 content and post in 8k on occasion. However, the native Insta360 8k is not actually 8k and is not recognized by CZcams as 8k. The vertical resolution has to be 4320 in order for YT to recognize it and create a 8k version. The Insta360 X4 only creates 7680 × 3840. You have upres it to get it to "8k" on CZcams.

360 cameras need every "small" upgrade it can get. Im satisfied with my X4... i was marginally happy with the RS 1 INCH

I don't have any 360 camera. I need something to shoot a 50km trail race. What are my options ? P.S. I will running the race. It might rain, it might snow etc.. so I meed something durable under all kinds of weather conditions
uuum I only looked at the Insta 360 X3 and X4, didn't really look at anything else, It is the best option in this class but here are some other options a few people have suggested...
LINKFLOW, Labpano, DETU, GoPro, OPT ,Corp and Vecnos. Hope that helps a little

There seems to be a lot of confusion here over the "8k" thing. The camera captures 360 8k and CZcams will accept that so it can be viewed in VR headsets, looking all round you. There are plenty of examples. Most people however will reframe the 360 video into a 4k video, which of course CZcams accepts. But the actual resolution will be around 2.7k as you are only showing part of the original 8k 360 image. With the X3 the official comparable figure is 1080p. That's a bit dated in this 4k world. 2.7k is more acceptable. Of course there are many other factors affecting video quality
That's a really based comment! 👌It always seem like the marketers of any given product hammer on the on niche thing that their product can do and sort of just skim over the thing it's going to be used for most of the time...but those 360 8K video's are amazing!!
Update on my return process: They company said no.😪 appearantly "i don't want the product anymore" isnt a good enough reason. 😂
Luckily in Germany we have the law that allows us to cancel anything ordered online within 14 days
same - i ordered the x3 four days before the x4 was launched and they wont let me return it.

Best Buy in the US has a nice long return policy. I took my X3 snowboarding twice, and still got to return it!

i will take your words and advice. I bought an x3 in December 2023 Christmas sale and 4 months later the x4 appear. I am not as fortunate as you where I can return my x3. Finally I have decided to wait for x5 in 2026

Pass! I have the X3 but will wait for the X5 with i hope a 1” sensor..my Dji pocket 3 just blows away all small pocket size camera with its superb low light resolution and cinematic looks..
But the pocket 3 isnt 360

I bought the Oculus vr about 2 months later the new Oculus 2 came out ive been traumatized every since im so scared to buy anything new.
Yeah dude it really isnt a nice feeling especially if you dont have a lot of cash to throw around

5.7K is not supported by CZcams, 8K is.
CZcams converts any 360 video content to this zoomed in VP9 codec that loses a lot of quality...thye problem is the ratio of the 360 content and that it can't be converted to 16:9
The fact they increase the resolution for the 360 , it’s becoz the crop , for the X3 when you crop the video it looks terrible kind of blurred not sharp , so they increase it to 8k so when u crop you still get that sharp video 🤷🏻♂️
