I have chronic back pain, chronic ankle pain, chronic shoulder pain, chronic hip pain, chronic shoulder pain.
The Cryo helped DRAMATiCALLY w all.
How often did you go to see results? A month?
"I tried it for 30 Days" ... but you say nothing of your experience other than you lost 2 pounds which you put down to having another cause. I find it quite amazing how you tried it for 30 days but said virtually nothing of your experience and only put forward what the experts say ... the "experts" who said something different 10 years ago and will say something different again in 10 years time.
It definitely relieves pain and inflammation. It was the only thing I could find to alleviate my back pain until I had surgery.
@sin could it not have prevented surgery? Interested to know
You’re running 50 miles a week? You don’t have that 5 pounds to shiver away.
Exactly. This video is misinformed
I agree. She looks like she's in good shape so it might work for someone who actually needs to lose weight.
She said you wear a mask like you see drs wearing. Oh 2019, such an innocent time
That is EXACTLY what I was feeling as I was reading.
2 things. Well 3! 1st I'm an Aesthetician. 2nd Of course Icing of rather direct or indirect gets out inflammation, which is why you apply ice to a sprang ,etc. 3rd cold water or making the body very cold also alkaline the Blood. You are essentially trying to freeze fat cells so that it freezes and die. So yes cryo therapy would help but if you're looking to use it as a weightloss regimen try elsewhere! But if you have an injury or just need to better your insides go for it!
Thank you. Really glad to get a straightforward assessment.
I lost 7 lbs going three times a week last summer. Also the cryo chamber I have access to has a cloth cover that fits around my head keeping all the cool air/nitrogen in the chamber and below my head... also keeping brown fat areas in the cold. You just need to go to the right location... most dramatic results/benefits I felt and saw were when I did a cryotherapy session immediately following a workout.
All the evidence indicates that you should wait at least an hour after a high intensity workout before you do cryotherapy or an ice bath or you will kill the inflammation from the workout and prevent muscle mass growth.
If you are doing a high intensity resistance workout you are not to do a cryotherapy treatment right after your workout. It supposedly counteracts your body from building muscle mass.
@@richardplantan4375 You are 100% correct to wait an hour. I plateaued on weight loss and when I added this an hour after a work out I began to lose weight again rapidly. I do cold showers on days I cant cryo or jump in my pool when its cold. I just make sure I have someone with me when I do a cold swim jic. This with fasting is also great for longevity and anti ageing effects. great advise you gave to 541 cryo
Maybe for weight loss it works best right after workout? She was not talking about muscle gain
I was hoping to hear your experiences only since you had first hand knowledge. But Thanks for presenting and sharing the best you could do
Thanks! I had a tramatic brain injury and cryo helps me with muscle spasticity.
Definitely lost me at ice does can be bad for inflammation that's ridiculous. just being a contrarian.
just saw this video! I'm into month 2 of doing it everyday, goes by in the snap of a finger. helps so much
Is this good for weight loss?.. i dont do intensive workouts but i do alot of walking through out the day. I also heat healthy is this ok?
Do you know if insurance covers a percentage of this therapy. 🤔
What’s that costing you?
@@IBrainedMyDamage check out the lifetime membership
Thank you for your brutal honesty
I don’t think you have enough fat to lose 5 pounds
😅🤣
Exactly
Many athletes use this- the first time I saw it was when a boxer was using it- I believe it was Canelo- then I started using it- a lot better experience than the old school ice bath. It’s not going to alleviate having to get surgery but it will act as an anti inflammatory and help alleviate pain and some swelling- it’s not a chamber that cures you. I do it because I hate ice baths- and it does help-
For those thinking your going to go in and do this and come out ten ponds less- it’s diet and exercise (consistent exercise) and being in a caloric deficit that will ultimately do that while eating clean-
Thanks for the info. However hows your experience? Did it really work for you?
I'm using it for my ACL tear and it helps a lot with inflammation and pain, but I think that's cause it's an intense injury
Oh my. I fell in 2018 and broke both legs in 3 places, tib/fib also with a right mcl tear. I've been through stage 3 cancer, treatments chemotherapy and radiation as well as multiple surgeries rectally and abdominally and 2 port surgeries, c-section and breast reduction and that tear was the worst pain of my life. I still feel it sometimes. I thought I was going to a great ortho. Turns out I ended up having to go to ortho for my right knee because the pain was persisting. I used a knee specialist ortho. He was shocked that with my injuries I didn't have surgery. I still have pain when it gets cold and it's been hurting this week. In the 50s here and knee is so painful. I realize the tear may not be causing the pain from cold but it really gets painful at times. The bad thing is I went to a small local er because it was closer. They xrayed and said there might be a break. Gave me 4 pain pills until I could get to the dr. This happened on Christmas Eve so had to wait til the day after Christmas to call and wait another few days for appt. I kept pointing to the area of my worse pain and they neglected to investigate further until 2 weeks went by and I kept complaining of severe pain. They did ore xrays and mri and sure enough they could see all the damage. I told the PA and MD to their face that I hope they felt bad for not listening to me bc I am not a drug seeker and they only gave me a low and small amount of pain meds. I told them if I wanted meds that bad I could have just went to my oncologist. I worked in imaging at the time, ultrasound for 20 years. Not sure what the problem with their xray was. And no I was not drinking. I was beebopping down our hardwood stairs with things in both hands and fell dow 4 stairs. It was so traumatic that I have major anxiety about going up or down and I have to because I live in a split level house. Main living area upstairs...garage entrance downstairs.
It would be nice when you do a review to talk about your before weight for 30 days you're after weight for 30 days and since you didn't actually do it for 30 days you'd be nice for you to say actual amount of days you did do it for. Thanks for your information but I think I'll also continue looking for more videos because you didn't really get that detailed. 😁
I go to cryotherapy atleast 2x a month. It's beneficial. Inflammation is good but there are times when you need some kind of cold therapy. I don't think anyone is recommending that you go everyday so not sure why she did a 30 day challenge.
Truth is, whatever you’ve heard that cryotherapy burns fat is false. If you wanna burn fat go in to a calorie deficit and go to the gym. Thats the way to loose fat.
@@robineriksen9349 the way to lose fat is to let your body do the work. Keto and intermittent fasting. Free. No gym membership required. The body repairs itself. Fasting of 16 or more hours works. Even better if it's longer than 20 hours. I lost a ton of weight doing it and my large pancreatic mass the size of an adult fist is no longer with me. Had a major surgery at Vanderbilt and they weren't able to get it untangled from my other organs so they closed me up to save my life. I almost didn't make it when after i left the hospital my hemoglobin dropped
One benefit I noticed is I get a rush of energy when I get out of it, but I sleep really well that night.
1.5 speed
😂😂😂😂 👍🏼
Bro I thought you were joking. Thank you dear god
2x
what about just walking outside in cold weather with minimal layers?
Thank you for taking the time to make this video
I couldn’t find the metabolic thing you were doing
I get in a 55 gallon plastic barrel with well water and ice the temperature usually around 40 to 50 degrees. Been during it almost every day for about 4 months.
And?...what have you observed? 🤷🏾♂️
This is the way. I live in the mountains, will begin dipping in ice cold river.
But did you lose weight
2 things. Although the fat lose is actually negligible, it does happen. However, it has nothing to do either with brown fat or shivering. Calories expenditure in extreme cold is result of the body’s effort to maintain its temperature, which is regulated by hypothalamus in our brain. Other effects of exposing oneself to cold are much more significant and much more important and it's good for our overall health.
Exactly, body burns more calories to try and stay warm, that’s how people lose weight doing this.
Which is great,
Cryo helped me tremendously with sleep after about 6 times. Saved my life personally
Thank you 🙏🏽 for posting this video.
This is really good
U didn’t mention anything about immunity?
I’m here because of Coach Greg, good info !
Noone cares why ur here
What about once per week?
Lol at all these weird "As a man" flexes. Recent studies have shown that any amount of preventing inflammation after injury actually showed down the healing process. I thought your video was straight forward.
The real issue I found is that you mention losing weight from something else, but you don't mention fat. My understanding is that the cryo therapy has a fast reduction effect. In fact a NEJM study showed that 6 weeks of cryotherapy would yield an average of 2% total body fat reduction. I suspect in your case there is a diminishing returns because you probably already have a low bmi so 30 days wouldn't have any noticeable effect on your weight. But a 2% reduction on a 300lbs person at 30% body fat would yield about 2 pounds of lost fat in 30 days.
Your math is slightly off. It would be 4.29 lb of lost fat in 30 days for a 300 lb person, if 6 weeks is a 2% loss in body fat. 6 weeks = 42 days. 2% of 300 lb is 6 lb fat loss. For 30 days, it would be a fraction of that, or 30 / 42 ( 6 lb ) = 4.29 lb fat loss.
I'm thinking about doing this, did it help at all with sleep?
hey tim! there are a lot of folks who report it helps them. I think I had much faster noticeable results using CBD oil
@tim this helped me tremendously with sleep
Informative and comprehensible... Great video!
what is the cost for that? because the cryo here is $75 for 3mins. that's a lot of NZD to be able to go everyday
I'd like to know the price too, even if it's a ballpark figure.
Here it’s 30 a week or 45 for 1 session
They have free first time visits at lots of places here, or $10 for first visit. I have an appt for next Saturday. All my friends are wusses so will be going by myself
79 Euro per session here in 🇴🇲 Oman
Did anyone start getting panic attacks after doing cryo?
I feel dizzy and kinda anxious for about an hour after.
This is £30 per treatment at my local place, no chance I’m doing that everyday or even every other day 😳
I’m not seeing the metabolic testing link
What is name of book about the collar bone trick
Tim Ferris talks about it in the 4 hour Body
but you can also google "brown fat activation"
So basically this does not do anything but give you a mood change?
Kj Hammerman says this bored housewife. Anyone can have a CZcams channel. Athletes wouldn’t waste their time doing it, Tony Robbins wouldn’t waste his precious time doing it. I’ve been doing it, suffer from Lyme disease, and noticed a big difference after the first week of going daily then 4xs a week after that.
Scarlett I have lyme what are the benefits for Lyme?
I have ZERO desire to wonder what Han Solo felt like in the Carbonite.
They can lower the height! So your neck will be covered, just keep your nose high!
Weight loss may be more for those who are overweight according to a lecture on the Huberman Lab podcast.
So, what was the result of before and after?
Yea she basically just explained why it doesn’t do the things it claims to do, didn’t give her personal feelings on it.
@@ob1shoenobi171 I agree. She did not finish the piece. She just stopped.
You have to observe for yourself
This can cause third-degree burns. It has happened several times. Either a malfunction or you accidentally touch the walls with your forearms and don’t feel anything.
Yea happened to me. Hurt like hell for 2 weeks but I did feel good getting out. Just need to be careful
I would say the only part you really have slightly incorrect is about shivering burning calories... the reason it burns so many calories is because it puts our body into flight or flight thermogenesis, much more intense than shivering. I don't shiver at all when I do Cryo. Also burning an extra 500 calories per session will definitely make you lose weight as long as you don't eat them back.
I would love to see the study showing we burn 500 calories from a session. I'd be more than happy to share that info! All the studies I've seen have not born that out, rather it's something that has been passed around without evidence.
@@RunToTheFinish I don't think it's "per session" per say, like you're not burning 500 calories in 3 minutes. but it does make your body go into thermogenesis so it will burn an extra 500 calories a day in general... because of what it does to your metabolism. Similar to how getting a working out revs your metabolism for the day and increases caloric burn long term.
If your heart is beating your body isn't froze
If that whole brown fat stuff was true then growing up in Michigan EVERYONE WOULD BE SKINNY! it's freezing most of the time to the point you have to watch out from being frost bitten! You go ro school and work in high snow and slide on ice...
Finally someone told the truth! Finallyyyy!!! Thanks, there are still wise people around! :-)
So your weight maintenance was from running and diet more so
Other machines are whole body
Having dealt with more than a few researchers over the years I am pretty sure they wouldn't combine additional activities to one research item. So running, and doing a metabolic evaluation while trying cryo therapies makes me question the point of this video. Plus, running in the cold advice doesn't help those viewers who cannot run due to injury or other impediments. You look pretty fit in your video so I question why you felt the need to evaluate something and mention weight loss. Accurate info is always good, but a runner with no weight to lose talking about weight loss to those who genuinely seek help? Odd. Very very odd.
Cheap version. Going outside during winter 3 minutes
Or just get in a ice bath
Dang….
5 days in a row???
For me…
That’s $42 a session, which would be $210.
So if this method is 100% negative why professional athletes use them? Do they just do it for the hell of it?
You are SO cute! I loved the intro! LOL! Good info.
Ha thanks Lori! figure I gotta have fun
Nice way to slide in and say “Hi” to her......lol....
Just saying.......
Cute when she is not talking, and talking stuff that is misinformed
You can definitely lose weight fast with Cryo if you stop eating shitty food.
incredibly annoying presentation
Hi. Thanks for this. But your skinny.
Cryotherapy sounds like junk science, but this video does an awful job breaking down the evidence or lack thereof. Total waste of time and I had to watch 4 ads in the process 🤦🏻
thanks for watching all those ads! ya sure didn't have to
CZcams Premium brah
Feedback: you talk too much to just use a few seconds of the video talking about weight loss with cryotherapy … which was the main topic we wanted to see in the video
To be fair this is a running channel, not a weight loss channel
she should stick to running
Thanks for stopping by and spreading some kindness
Wow you did such a terrible job explaining all of this.
