    "I tried it for 30 Days" ... but you say nothing of your experience other than you lost 2 pounds which you put down to having another cause. I find it quite amazing how you tried it for 30 days but said virtually nothing of your experience and only put forward what the experts say ... the "experts" who said something different 10 years ago and will say something different again in 10 years time.

Well 3! 1st I'm an Aesthetician. 2nd Of course Icing of rather direct or indirect gets out inflammation, which is why you apply ice to a sprang ,etc. 3rd cold water or making the body very cold also alkaline the Blood. You are essentially trying to freeze fat cells so that it freezes and die. So yes cryo therapy would help but if you're looking to use it as a weightloss regimen try elsewhere! I lost 7 lbs going three times a week last summer. Also the cryo chamber I have access to has a cloth cover that fits around my head keeping all the cool air/nitrogen in the chamber and below my head... also keeping brown fat areas in the cold. You just need to go to the right location... most dramatic results/benefits I felt and saw were when I did a cryotherapy session immediately following a workout.

    Many athletes use this- the first time I saw it was when a boxer was using it- I believe it was Canelo- then I started using it- a lot better experience than the old school ice bath. It’s not going to alleviate having to get surgery but it will act as an anti inflammatory and help alleviate pain and some swelling- it’s not a chamber that cures you. I do it because I hate ice baths- and it does help-
    For those thinking your going to go in and do this and come out ten ponds less- it’s diet and exercise (consistent exercise) and being in a caloric deficit that will ultimately do that while eating clean-

      Oh my. I fell in 2018 and broke both legs in 3 places, tib/fib also with a right mcl tear. I've been through stage 3 cancer, treatments chemotherapy and radiation as well as multiple surgeries rectally and abdominally and 2 port surgeries, c-section and breast reduction and that tear was the worst pain of my life. I still feel it sometimes. I thought I was going to a great ortho. Turns out I ended up having to go to ortho for my right knee because the pain was persisting. I used a knee specialist ortho. He was shocked that with my injuries I didn't have surgery. I still have pain when it gets cold and it's been hurting this week. In the 50s here and knee is so painful. I realize the tear may not be causing the pain from cold but it really gets painful at times. The bad thing is I went to a small local er because it was closer. They xrayed and said there might be a break. Gave me 4 pain pills until I could get to the dr. This happened on Christmas Eve so had to wait til the day after Christmas to call and wait another few days for appt. I kept pointing to the area of my worse pain and they neglected to investigate further until 2 weeks went by and I kept complaining of severe pain. They did ore xrays and mri and sure enough they could see all the damage. I told the PA and MD to their face that I hope they felt bad for not listening to me bc I am not a drug seeker and they only gave me a low and small amount of pain meds. I told them if I wanted meds that bad I could have just went to my oncologist. I worked in imaging at the time, ultrasound for 20 years. Not sure what the problem with their xray was. And no I was not drinking. I was beebopping down our hardwood stairs with things in both hands and fell dow 4 stairs. It was so traumatic that I have major anxiety about going up or down and I have to because I live in a split level house. Main living area upstairs...garage entrance downstairs.

    Although the fat lose is actually negligible, it does happen. However, it has nothing to do either with brown fat or shivering. Calories expenditure in extreme cold is result of the body’s effort to maintain its temperature, which is regulated by hypothalamus in our brain. Other effects of exposing oneself to cold are much more significant and much more important and it's good for our overall health.

    Lol at all these weird "As a man" flexes. Recent studies have shown that any amount of preventing inflammation after injury actually showed down the healing process. I thought your video was straight forward.
    The real issue I found is that you mention losing weight from something else, but you don't mention fat. My understanding is that the cryo therapy has a fast reduction effect. In fact a NEJM study showed that 6 weeks of cryotherapy would yield an average of 2% total body fat reduction. I suspect in your case there is a diminishing returns because you probably already have a low bmi so 30 days wouldn't have any noticeable effect on your weight. But a 2% reduction on a 300lbs person at 30% body fat would yield about 2 pounds of lost fat in 30 days.

    • @jasonbaum4161
      @jasonbaum4161 Před 3 lety +1

      Your math is slightly off. It would be 4.29 lb of lost fat in 30 days for a 300 lb person, if 6 weeks is a 2% loss in body fat. 6 weeks = 42 days. 2% of 300 lb is 6 lb fat loss. For 30 days, it would be a fraction of that, or 30 / 42 ( 6 lb ) = 4.29 lb fat loss.

    I would say the only part you really have slightly incorrect is about shivering burning calories... the reason it burns so many calories is because it puts our body into flight or flight thermogenesis, much more intense than shivering. I don't shiver at all when I do Cryo. Also burning an extra 500 calories per session will definitely make you lose weight as long as you don't eat them back.

      @lovealwayskota Před rokem +3

      @@RunToTheFinish I don't think it's "per session" per say, like you're not burning 500 calories in 3 minutes. but it does make your body go into thermogenesis so it will burn an extra 500 calories a day in general... because of what it does to your metabolism. Similar to how getting a working out revs your metabolism for the day and increases caloric burn long term.
