      Good vinyl from upholstery supply is $20 avg they have tech vinyl that is 20 degrees cooler for marine applications. That is clearly more expensive. Upholsters charge around $40 avg per yd. Of vinyl

    It seems like you are always using expensive 4 way stretch. I'm on a smaller budget so I'm using Morbern Seabrook which isn't 4 way stretch. Sewing curves is really difficult. Any advice???

    Any tips for refreshing the backer board? Ours are old and moldy. Can you paint the wood? Or any synthetic alternative for replacing the marine plywood?

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  Před 2 lety

      You can use marine plywood or what is called "King StarBoard® ST HDPE Sheets". If you can clean the mold of the old wood and it is still structurally strong you can also just paint the wood with an outdoor paint.

    How do you figure out how much fabric you would need to do a pontoon boat. Great video.

    Instead of making a shaper out of a pasta sauce jar lid, simply use a cheese Grater. You often have various different grating sides too.

      Great suggesting, however my wife would not let me use the one in my kitchen. I told her it was for a good cause, but she disagreed.

    How much fabric do I need to purchase for recovering a seat like that

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  Před 4 lety +1

      It actually does not take as much fabric as you would think. For the whole seat bench and the two arm rests, not just the seat portion, you will need about 9 yards of a 54" wide vinyl seating fabric.
