for some reason it doesn't work it keeps saying : openxr is not loaded couldn't create openxr instance openvr is not loaded openvr_api.dll not found what is the problem here ?? (i am using quest 3 and openxr)
To me, by any point of view that you want to see it, UEVR created a big mark in VR gaming moment in history, before and after. Because, UEVR will create a BIG shake in VR market, a new market just created for a huge amount of 2D flat games, all the fan of those games now wanting to play it in VR, so they go and start buying VR headsets for the first time, and in the other hand, all the VR gamers wanting to play many of those 2D games in VR, a huge new library of games open from one day to another, so they go and start buying many of those games, so everybody get new earnings, game studios and VR headsets brands. And very important, from now and on, all the UE Game developers have a way to see their creations in VR for the first time, a version that they didn't made, and see those Worlds from within in 3D stereo, and start to acknowledge about what it's really possible as experience and that it's a lot more interesting and immersive than just flat 2D. More than 10K games are using Unreal Engine today. And the huge new competition for the actual VR game developers, because look what it's really possible in VR now, look all those 2D games in VR, so they need to start competing in that level, that scale, that quality (not yet in the same level of interaction, but UEVR will be also upgrading and getting better integration) or many people will just buy the UE 2D games to use it in 2D or VR with UEVR and that's it, because they will have better quality than the regular VR games made by VR game studios, at least in PC VR. This looks SO much better than Vorpx, which I've never gotten to work reliably with anything. I do wish you had spoken more about support for VR controls. Normally the problem with adding VR to a non-VR FPS is you get a severe case of gunface. It appears you're using the VR controller to aim. That must be a feature of the engine, since the game has no idea VR controls are a thing.
Hi Steve, I've wanted to play Train Sim World 4 in VR for ages, tried this earlier this evening and it works a treat !! If you get nullifier failed, extract the UEVR to another drive, I had issues with it starting and then moved the injector to my D: drive and et voila, it works a treat !! Running with VD, had to make a few tweaks and it runs sweet as a nut. Might have to buy Robocop now, cheers !!
Note: Just because the games are Unreal 4 or 5, the game engine may have been modified and UEVR injector may not work with them. So I always wait and see if someone else who bought the particular STEAM game to see if they tried UEVR and it worked. I always see if the game I like to get and buy on STEAM is already setup for VR headsets. If not VR ready, then I search for videos to see if the game can be Modded for VR. one game ive always thought would be great in vr is Dishonoured. and its UE3. That could make and interesting vid. "Also High on Life" is on sale and UE4 This is a great start to 2024 for VR.
i dont get it ... downloaded the mod from github ... there is no exe file to start the loader... and i cant find that random zip file from discord .... this is a mess ....
windows likely deleted it, its being flagged as unsafe and deleted, this should change as it passes a download threshold we were told. youd have to tell windows to leave it alone

I honestly would love to see this - well let me put it as very functional passion project - further polished so a point that it may even become an option from the get go when buying UE games, like in this case. Lots of people were annoyed that Half-Life Alyx is PCVR only and thus try to make it an enjoyable desktop experience by modding it, on the other hand, racing sims often come with VR options out of the box and if not are easy to add. This looks really cool.

Does anybody know how to select options on the overlay using the Quest 3 controllers? Every time I try this, I get a little pop-up over the overlay and I’m unable to select, say, standing height or reset view. I’m forced to have to use my mouse to do this. Looking for some help:)
I'm a big fan of robocop Aswell and when I found out the game was made with unreal engine I wanted to play it in VR, but sadly, my laptop couldn't run the game, big L.
I'm getting an open xr error when trying to load it. Also something stating that i need to have some vr plug ins in the directories file. Can someone give me some advice on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@@SteveKnows well it does not make any difference but iam on a valve index. it depends very heavy on the game but the key really is using super sampeling: in robocop you have to set everything to low and maybe even use upscaling like DLSS to always maintain 90fps on a standard SS setting. in other games like high on life you can go very hard on the SS with medium settings. then the blurryness is gone. DLSS is introducing flickering objects tho. EDIT: iam on a 4090. Also, making profiles for 3rd person games like the callisto protocol is expert level.
When looking around if you look behind yourself is it just black nothing to see? Is the game still viewed at standard flat forward game mode ? You’re not showing the field of view or where it ends?

Great video thanks. How did you get knuckles working in Robocop. I seem to be able to use only xbox controller or keyboard/mouse. I have Reverb G2 combined with index controllers.

@@SteveKnows I got it working. In a getting started guide it is said that if one has WMR headset than runnig OpenXR is reccomended. So if I run a game using OpenXR the controllers will not work because they use OpenVR. Switching to OpenVR fixed the problem. I was playing Robocop in it's whole glory :) UEVR is trully an amazing tool.
Still waiting for ready or not profile, really want to test this out and with mods this will be insane also isn’t that simple, sadly not every game will just work after this setup for example ready or not, can’t move anything but my head and gun but can’t fire it
Some games allow you to change setup (change game pad button for forward or walk or fire) I got my rare game working, mostly by doing that.. The only things that would be in a profile are things where someone was just messing around with the possibilities and then save to it worked so you can move it at 2 just by trying out the mod and see what does what...

Is it possible to start the game up that's installed on my hard drive and then open the UEVR mod and inject the game that way, or do I need to use Steam, epic, xbox game pass? I don't use steam or any other service.

Tried it with reverb g2. I inject the game in UEVR that I've opened as administrator and nothing happens. Game still runs in 2D on desktop. Tried it with Firearm Elite and Robocop. Any idea how can I fix this?
Reverb g2 might use a different compositor try openVR and make sure you got a profile for Robocop. Ensure steamvr is launched and you’re in the home before start robocop and then injecting it Let me know and join discord bro :)
@@SteveKnows Thanks. I've fixed it by reinstalling UEVR injector. Reverb G2 uses OpenXR. It all works but it is unplayable atm. Hands are all over the place. I have index controllers and they seem to not work, I can onlu use keyboard or xbox controller :( Getting there but just not yet. Wish this was all just plug and play.

ive not tried this game, a TON of learning is going on. does the aiming line up some games it doesnt but if its lined up wont need the crosshair. fiddle with the settings menu there might be a hud or ui option to get it back. sorry ive not experienced this yet.
if youre trying to reduce the performance heavy nature of flatscreen to VR then it is an option. obviously if you can handle it don't use it for the better experience.

Gonna have to say NAY on this. Flatscreen games are not good enough for VR. they need to be built from the ground up for VR. Flatscreen to VR is too janky and something always happens to bring you out of the VR immersion.

Because, UEVR will create a BIG shake in VR market, a new market just created for a huge amount of 2D flat games, all the fan of those games now wanting to play it in VR, so they go and start buying VR headsets for the first time, and in the other hand, all the VR gamers wanting to play many of those 2D games in VR, a huge new library of games open from one day to another, so they go and start buying many of those games, so everybody get new earnings, game studios and VR headsets brands. And very important, from now and on, all the UE Game developers have a way to see their creations in VR for the first time, a version that they didn't made, and see those Worlds from within in 3D stereo, and start to acknowledge about what it's really possible as experience and that it's a lot more interesting and immersive than just flat 2D. More than 10K games are using Unreal Engine today. And the huge new competition for the actual VR game developers, because look what it's really possible in VR now, look all those 2D games in VR, so they need to start competing in that level, that scale, that quality (not yet in the same level of interaction, but UEVR will be also upgrading and getting better integration) or many people will just buy the UE 2D games to use it in 2D or VR with UEVR and that's it, because they will have better quality than the regular VR games made by VR game studios, at least in PC VR. I do wish you had spoken more about support for VR controls. Normally the problem with adding VR to a non-VR FPS is you get a severe case of gunface. It appears you're using the VR controller to aim. That must be a feature of the engine, since the game has no idea VR controls are a thing.
Hi Steve, I've wanted to play Train Sim World 4 in VR for ages, tried this earlier this evening and it works a treat !! If you get nullifier failed, extract the UEVR to another drive, I had issues with it starting and then moved the injector to my D: drive and et voila, it works a treat !! Running with VD, had to make a few tweaks and it runs sweet as a nut. Might have to buy Robocop now, cheers !!

Note: Just because the games are Unreal 4 or 5, the game engine may have been modified and UEVR injector may not work with them. So I always wait and see if someone else who bought the particular STEAM game to see if they tried UEVR and it worked.
I always see if the game I like to get and buy on STEAM is already setup for VR headsets. If not VR ready, then I search for videos to see if the game can be Modded for VR.

windows likely deleted it, its being flagged as unsafe and deleted, this should change as it passes a download threshold we were told. youd have to tell windows to leave it alone

I honestly would love to see this - well let me put it as very functional passion project - further polished so a point that it may even become an option from the get go when buying UE games, like in this case.
Lots of people were annoyed that Half-Life Alyx is PCVR only and thus try to make it an enjoyable desktop experience by modding it, on the other hand, racing sims often come with VR options out of the box and if not are easy to add.
This looks really cool.

Does anybody know how to select options on the overlay using the Quest 3 controllers? Every time I try this, I get a little pop-up over the overlay and I’m unable to select, say, standing height or reset view. I’m forced to have to use my mouse to do this. Looking for some help:)

I'm a big fan of robocop Aswell and when I found out the game was made with unreal engine I wanted to play it in VR, but sadly, my laptop couldn't run the game, big L.

What are your system specs? The game seemed to be pushing your PC pretty hard.
robocop is very blurry tho
ensure the refresh rate is at 60 on robocop in game and your headset is set to 120 it should be much smooth and clearer!

@@SteveKnows well it does not make any difference but iam on a valve index. it depends very heavy on the game but the key really is using super sampeling: in robocop you have to set everything to low and maybe even use upscaling like DLSS to always maintain 90fps on a standard SS setting. in other games like high on life you can go very hard on the SS with medium settings. then the blurryness is gone. DLSS is introducing flickering objects tho. EDIT: iam on a 4090. Also, making profiles for 3rd person games like the callisto protocol is expert level.

@@SteveKnows I got it working. In a getting started guide it is said that if one has WMR headset than runnig OpenXR is reccomended. So if I run a game using OpenXR the controllers will not work because they use OpenVR. Switching to OpenVR fixed the problem. I was playing Robocop in it's whole glory :) UEVR is trully an amazing tool.
Still waiting for ready or not profile, really want to test this out and with mods this will be insane also isn’t that simple, sadly not every game will just work after this setup for example ready or not, can’t move anything but my head and gun but can’t fire it
Some games allow you to change setup (change game pad button for forward or walk or fire) I got my rare game working, mostly by doing that.. The only things that would be in a profile are things where someone was just messing around with the possibilities and then save to it worked so you can move it at 2 just by trying out the mod and see what does what...

Tried it with reverb g2. I inject the game in UEVR that I've opened as administrator and nothing happens. Game still runs in 2D on desktop. Tried it with Firearm Elite and Robocop. Any idea how can I fix this?
Reverb g2 might use a different compositor try openVR and make sure you got a profile for Robocop.
Ensure steamvr is launched and you’re in the home before start robocop and then injecting it

@@SteveKnows Thanks. I've fixed it by reinstalling UEVR injector. Reverb G2 uses OpenXR. It all works but it is unplayable atm. Hands are all over the place. I have index controllers and they seem to not work, I can onlu use keyboard or xbox controller :(

cross hair in what game? robocop its in the actual game settings where you can choose what the HUD displays
@@SteveKnows for example forgive me father or borderlands 3, in forgive me father the crosshair is activated in the game menu but don't appears in game
ive not tried this game, a TON of learning is going on. does the aiming line up some games it doesnt but if its lined up wont need the crosshair. fiddle with the settings menu there might be a hud or ui option to get it back. sorry ive not experienced this yet.

if youre trying to reduce the performance heavy nature of flatscreen to VR then it is an option. obviously if you can handle it don't use it for the better experience.

Gonna have to say NAY on this. Flatscreen games are not good enough for VR. they need to be built from the ground up for VR. Flatscreen to VR is too janky and something always happens to bring you out of the VR immersion.
