- GTA V VR is still one of the best VR mods available right now BUT you can make it even better by adding more mods on top of the vanilla experience; mods like the Natural Vision Remastered mod which makes GTA V VR look pretty damn close to real life! The GTA V Natural Vision Remastered mod is designed to give a realistic visual overhaul to GTA V and it works perfectly with the VR mod, meaning you can create one of the most realistic VR experiences ever with the combination of these two mods. Then if you bring in the Real California Architecture mod and the Real Venice Beach mod you'll have the best GTA 5 VR experience around and a game world that looks and feels scarily close to the real world, it's mind blowingly immersive, especially at night in the rain with all the reflections in the puddles on the ground... it's some of the best VR graphics you could hope to see.
If you're looking for a realistic GTA V VR experience then grab the mods below and follow the guides in the videos attached, it take a little while to get everything set up but the results are DEFINITELY worth it!

Rockstar " you cannot make a VR mod 😠" 20 years later, still no official VR support.
It would take a few weeks of works by like 5 guys. Its too much of an expense for a billion dollar company obviously. Rockstar/Take two are a bunch of big assholes just like Nintendo... they hate their customers.
I think it’s cause they were making San Andreas vr and they didn’t want competition, that is what metro did to paradox of hope.
@@PSking_ Yeah but they cancelled San Andreas VR ages ago, they should aswell just allow GTA 5 VR to exist, it's not like they're going to do a version themselves anyway...
@@EolosMusicits not cancelled they even said it wasn’t
Havent played gta v since vr mod closure
I'm from New Orleans, so playing The Walking Dead: Saint & Sinners was insane. To walk around my city in VR while it's destroyed and infested with zombies was a different level of fear for me
Saint Denis is nice also huh? I'm also in nola
Lol saints and sinners is more art work graphics than real life
@@Brasslantern007 doesn't change the fact that it's based on a real life location he grew up in.

Indie Dev here!😁I have AN answer! Lol , In the past we had more tools to make night time look more realistic while day time, the textures flaws are more exposed. Now that we have global illumination, better foliage, better textures and better physics. Day time will start looking a little more real while the night time will still look even better because we're just advancing those tools!!
I want to see a date whenever daytime looks as realistic as night time in video games
@@higurashianduminekoconnect1702 Agreed!
I can explain why raining and overcast settings look more realistic. It has to do with details and global illumination. During an overcast day you have a huge light source (the clouds that are filtering the light), which casts soft light. Soft lighting doesn't create zones of sharp contrast where real life defects (scratches on paint, pores on skin, concrete detail) could be seen, so it lowers the amount of detail needed for an object to look close to real life. On top of that, hard light (like on sunny days) creates bounces of colour which a soft light source (like on overcast days) easily overpowers. So even less accurate global illumination scenes look closer to the real deal.
In a similar vein, nighttime can look more realistic because the darkness conceals details and doesn't have many bounces of lights because theer simply aren't light sources so strong to create a noticeable bounce.
As for rain, I would say that adding puddles with a convincing reflective shader has been very difficult through the years, so adding real time reflections is somewhat uncommon and sells the idea of the game doing something unprecedented (it's true that planar reflections were emplyed in old games like GTA 3, but they were extremely limited and have been almost completely dropped during the Xbox 360 era, especially for smaller details).
True! That's why I was blown away by Nat3 and Cabbage Enb in Skyrim Vr because it was the first time hard sunlight looked realistic. But generally overcast is the best because of what you explained.
Hence why some many of these Cyberpunk reshade mods are little more than Cyberpunk with an overcast sky and expect gullible fools to pay for it.🤦♂
I also noticed a few years ago that the lighting in racing sims tends to look more 'real' when the sky is overcast.
Makes sense. When playing half-life alyx once you get into the darker sewer like areas the first time my hairs actually stood up when I only had a flash light/low lighting and the Crab heads were creeping out from behind things. It had me convinced lol
Thanks for answering a question the NO ONE asked, tp.
The short version, its called immersion. We know what it is. Thx
It's really too bad this mod never got motion controls, because that would probably make it the best VR game of all time, and wouldn't be overtaken for a very long time.
Actually what I'm saying, unfortunately it's not possible unless Rockstar allows it since you wouldn't be able to use steam vr
I would never play any other game to be honest.
They would need to make first person driving less clunky, but yeah.
Good stuff. My computer is overheating just watching this vid.
What's worse is you're not even watching it on your computer but on your phone lol
😂😂
Btw the science behind why Games look better at night : its a lot easier to simulate unnatural light sources such as street / city lights etc than simulating realistic behaving sun light with all its shadows and minor details to everything. Also a night scenery improves the contrasts so ugly details will be more swallowed by the over the contrasts and scenery.
I'm surprised that since UEVR came out no one has tried to do tech-demo of Matrix in VR. Add AI NPC response to it and in some part i think it will be even more immersive than GTA.
Matrix in VR demo?? Hmm totally forgot about it
a 4090 runs Matrix Tech Demo with like 40 fps in 4k Flat. Yaaaa no, thx. Forget about VR :D
I think someone tried
Flying around in the City Demo as Superman with the UE 5 Enigine is quite an experience (even with a 3080 RTX card)

I lived in L.A. for 10 years -- you drove right past my street! And you didn't even stop and say hi. But I guess I don't live there anymore, so there.
I'm, just amazed at the fact that he isn't getting motion sickness from walking through the game world. I'm getting motion sick just watching him walk through the game world in VR.
It's probably the frame rate that's causing that tbh but yeah lmao
Some people just don't get motion sickness or they're gotten used to it. I have never gotten motion sickness no matter what frame rates are or how disorienting the movement is. Just lucky I guess. Sometimes I can trick my brain a little ie. if I jump little irl and my game character uses jetpack or something. It feels really weird but I kinda like it.
I love VR but cant handle much of it. I get severe diarrhea no cap
Imagine someone from now going back in time and showing people this is how GTA V will look in 10 years
imagine going back in time to 1985 and showing people how video games in general would look now (Super Mario Bros days!) MIND BLOWN!!!🤯
Sort of learned this 25 years ago. The Sega Dreamcast was released and no one really knew the graphical boost it had over the Playstation which dominated the home console market. Anyway, bough NFL 2k and set up my Dreamcast on the big screen TV on the mess deck (eating area) of a US Navy ship, put it on CPU vs CPU, upped the fog, and turned off the gameplay elements. People walking by for a brief bit thought a real football game was playing, especially during the cut scenes between each play and commentary. That high fog setting was key though to hide the aliased graphics. Tennis 2k also faked people out for brief moments as well, but that's because the camera was high above the play hiding the graphical flaws (and had really good motion tracked animation for the players).
Now, though racing games are already photo realistic. Love that 1st person open world games are approaching that as well. More so in VR.
I remember that! It's sad how Sega and their ground breaking console got overlooked once Sony with their superior marketing pushed the PS2 came out.
The difference was Sega was only a Game Developer while Sony was a massive multi-million dollar speaker manufacturer before they ever even decided to get into the Game Biz.
Lol
@@JuanMendoza-qd5lmbecause ps was better so sega flopped let’s be realistic here
@@Brasslantern007 Your right, totally nothing to do with business dynamics between a small video game company and a multi-million conglomerate.
No historical evidence whatsoever that's ever played a factor in a product's success...
@@JuanMendoza-qd5lm Sony opened a can of whoop ass on sega and became the biggest console giant in the world. It has nothing to do with money. They were just better than Sega at what they did and they delivered. Sega would of been left behind no matter what.
Man, the thought of GTA 6 in VR on a future headset gets me really excited. Imagine if Rockstar pulled off a standalone version of GTA 6 on like a future Quest 4 or maybe PSVR headset, it would be HUGE for VR.
Lol imagine thinking Rockstar will prioritize anything but shark cards
It wouldn’t look this good to begin with. They would have to port the game to what is basically a phone.
Rockstar doesnt want VR players to have fun in VR. They proved that already with restricting VR Mods on their games.
@@ravenstarfire8816 Not to mention GTA:SAvr being on HOLD. basically cancelled.
best beardo in vr ! thanks for this streamlined info -I've been wanting to do gta in vr for some time - you're the best !
dude... imagine the mods that people are going to add to GTA VI and then make it VR... fuuuccckkk that'll be insane. The hype continues to grow every day.
I wish I had a beefy PC but unfortunately I don’t so I’ll live vicariously through you! I love your shirt! Thanks Ben!
The only little thing I would change is the evolution of the lightning bolts. Basically have them grow from one end to another, big flash when it's drawn, then a flicker, then a fade, and add an extra few tendrils that try to grow out sideways, but then BAM the big bolt connects.
Basically to make a few flat animations based on real footage, keep it illuminating, just a few more little details like that and it would have completely sold me.
That was the only thing that drew my attention completely out of the immersion.
Something about just looks flat.
But the clouds and the light flashing in the distance, the rain drops reflecting the light from the lightning all is perfect! It looks amazing.
I was actually there over the summer and my wife kept wondering why i was freaking out and giggling. I was in the game in real life. Super cool
15:13 There on the right where the sign said Henna Tattoos is where the CZcamsr GIV or German in Venice had his little shop on Venice Beach until just recently as he just put out a video that he decided to close the shop after many years there. The sign portrayed in the game isn't exactly like his but still to be in pretty much the exact location is pretty wild. Too bad they did't do the actual game with more realistic places like that that wouldn't be a Copyright/IP issue.
Great observation with the night time call bro.
You can edit the "commandline" textfile in the Gta Main folder to both numbers 1200 instead of 1080. Huge visual upgrade also. Got this from the luke Q&A. Maybe someone hasnt done this and sees this!
damn this was a game changer! thanks!!
I modded my GTA five with this in my sim racing rig in VR added my in real life vehicle in the game so I can drive my truck around it's hell of a good time❤
Spooner is so much fun to mess with ive customized all my cities
What mod did you use to be able to use a steering wheel with GTA V? The one I found doesn't work with the current version of the game.

Another immersive thing to do is grab a seat on the Vinewood tour bus…
And im pissed that there wont be VR support in 6 either…. If they take another 10 years for 7 then MAYBE we see them announce VR support for GTA VIII 😅
So sad
AWESOME!!! Absolutely amazing -- beyond belief. I can't wait to try it myself.
Now brighter headlights and tail lights, more gore, realistic traffic, LA roads, 1st person cutscenes, real gun sounds, more NPCs, brighter emergency lights, npc turn signals. More Random events, bigger explosions, 2k water, white street lights, volumetric clouds. Im not sure why your framerate is so low. Im on a 2060super with no lag/frame drop even at x2 resolution scaling. Raindrops on cars mod is broken btw. I spent 3 months modding mine. Wish I could share it with everyone its truly amazing. Benjo I discord messaged you. Check it out.
Listen i dont care how close to realism it gets i just want full on VR MMO like this
You know what VR developers don’t understand? Seated VR experiences are awesome and you can play them longer without getting tired! Just make your game able to render in VR and don’t worry about adding motion controls. Just release it!
FFS when is someone going to finish motion controls for GTA5 in VR? We've been waiting for a long time.
You'll be waiting a long time becuase it isn't happening! Just enjoy it with a gamepad as its still mind blowing being "in" the game.
@@RichBaxterMusic It'll happen eventually. At some point someone who isn't afraid of Rockstar will want the glory and make it happen, I'll wait until then. Playing with a gamepad isn't being "in" the game... Hell, playing Robocop:RC with the current available UEVR profiles isn't close enough to being "in" the game. Gotta keep the faith, otherwise we're just spending our gaming time wishing for something we're not getting.
I think it's a shame to think that way. GTA5 in VR is absolutely nuts and not even remotely close to playing it on a flat screen. Plus the UEVR injector is unbelievable too. Horses for courses.
@@TheWarmotor It sucks that Rockstar scared off the only guy making VR mods for GTA.
Forcefeedback wheel and hotas help with immersion. Simhub works too using dirt 2 telemetry.
if added real ray-tracing this can be really amazing
Apparently Rockstar benefits from Ray tracing being exclusive to consoles. They would have released it for PC a long time ago, but apparently there are reasons for that...
@@Rostovgenchiktime and money they don’t want to invest 😂

Shutters on the Beach is a hotel. And I can tell you, I have been down those streets and on Venice MANY times. This is fantastic!
Oh let’s go! Thanks for making another video on gta vr man! You’re such a good CZcamsr I swear!❤❤❤
Still the best VR experiences and by far the best way to play the game
Your video from last June about the roll-back files has resulted in many happy hours in GTA5 VR, which I thought was dead after the takedown.
I wanted to pass along the following setup as the most fun I've had with the GTA5 VR mod. It allows you to cause collisions, explosions and bodies to fly through windshields as you walk, run or drive down a road, optionally in extreme slow motion. This is due to a "force field" setting that causes objects to be pushed away from the player. The effect is really mind blowing.
I'd love to see you capture some video footage of this, with your signature entertaining commentary.
For anyone interested in trying this, you need:
GTA5 PC version
Luke Ross VR mod ( the one with version roll back files)
Menyoo GTA5 mod (RB-L to open, A to select, B to go back)
Open Menyoo and set (some of these are optional):
Player Options -> Invincibility ON
Player Options -> Never Wanted ON
Player Options -> Forcefield Push Out
Vehicle Options -> Collision ON
Vehicle Options -> Auto-Flip ON
Vehicle Options -> Vehicle Multipliers -> Acceleration 10
Vehicle Options -> Vehicle Multipliers -> Braking & Reverse 10
Vehicle Options -> Vehicle Multipliers -> Traction 100
Vehicle Options -> Vehicle Spawner -> Spawn Settings -> Spawn Invincible
Vehicle Options -> Vehicle Spawner -> Super -> PR4 (my favorite)
Options -> Pause Clock Time (select time like Hour 12)
Teleport to somewhere with lots of trucks for maximum effect like:
Teleport Options -> Landmarks -> El Burro Heights
Go left out of the yard then left again on the main road, proceed to the bridge.
The bridge is ideal since vehicles will crash together and and into the structure.
This is incredible fun at normal driving speed, or even walking or running. But I prefer cinematic mode in slow motion.
Press B to enter cinematic mode, the view will then cycle automatically.
It takes practice to steer when the vehicle is far away from the camera.
When there is a nice group of vehicles ahead press Right Stick for slow motion mode.
Push the stick forward to speed motion up, back to slow down.
Wait for a closeup view, then push the stick back to enjoy extreme slow motion collisions and explosions!
Note: The large single unit truck doesn't respond when hit from behind
so go around to avoid being launched. And slow down a bit before hitting large vehicles.
Oh yes, the good old Tacko bell 😂
Your first statement is something i agree on fr. Visually v looks more real during the night when it is raining.
I still can't even get the VR mod to work. Just living vicariously through you
Heres a tutorial because this guy didnt explain it. Look up a guy called mick manchester he has an all in one gta vr file. Start with a fresh install, Basically follow his tutorial, and once you have it working. Install openIV and install naturalvision remastered. Then it should work. Sucks the poster didnt include directions at all. :(
3:45 thing with Red Dead II is that, WHERE IS THAT? With GTAV you can say ok that is that place in LA, THAT is what makes GTAV more realistic open world game for me. Then when you add the mods that gives real world labels to places, advertising signs etc.
I think with VR games at night or just in darker environments, our brains make up more of the image than they do in daytime/brighter environments, giving us a more realistic feeling
It took RS a long time to even provide a 1p view. They actually responded to an email I sent them long ago after GTA 3 was released about adding a 1p view. They replied that eventually they will and that is a goal they want to achieve, but they demand the quality of the visuals to go with it, and the current detail in game is not enough to put a 1p view in game. So I'd imagine if that was a goal back then, VR is the next step when they can get the quality they desire. Until then mods will have to do. There were 1p mods for both GTA3 and 4, and of course GTA5 and RDR2 already have 1p. GTA6 might be native VR, it should be.
In despite of the mods, remember GTA V is from 2013. Now imagine what Rockstar will do with GTA 6.
I love the mods you showcase in VR. Youve become my favourite VR CZcamsr recently
For Cali’s , every inch of the map is already completely recognizable. The in-n-out is cool I guess.
My wife is a LA native and I was showing here some of the landmarks, then like in real life, she started acting like my gps while driving!
That looks sick 😂
The speed of which VR has evolved and its only getting quicker, imagine this in 5 years, or 10 years? I think we ain't far off having real walking and real tactile touch, I'd say 20 years and it will be like being in a movie.
I have to say for me that VisualV looks better and works so much smoother in VR than Natural Vision Remastered. I did try Natural Vision again after seeing this but as you say, it just tanks the framerate.
The only thing missing would be the 50,000 homeless tents. Not bad!
Your 4090 was clinging to life.
The bonus is: you can heat your whole house in the winter!!!
At the end.....turn into Free Guy😂😂. Would love to play GTA VR

I have been trying to get this mod working before rockstar cancelled it. I just want to play it in vr
I love that the guide for installation of Natural Vision Remastered in the description is a local path on your C drive.
Bro im running LSPDFR in VR and its incredible ❤. I run with less puddles as in real life the world isn't covered in puddles...
When GTA-VI comes out and people start modding it, it's going to be like real life, but of course you'll need an RTXXx 10090 Ti to run it lol

This should be pinned! I was wondering. You can't just show us that and not give us at least a, "go here if you want to give it a go."! I like Beardo's content but I do really hate when people post stuff like this and never say how you can do it.
I have a liquid cooled 3090 so I may give it a shot (even thought the thing literally heats up my room just playing Dirt 2!)
THANK YOU! I've been wanting this for so long! This is going to rock the c***!!!
The "night and wet" scenes do usually look much better. Remember "Davy Jones" from "Pirates of the Caribbean"? Still one of the best CGI characters.
Well “Minecraft With Kappa Shaders” 🥶
The answer your point about nighttime realism, it could be because most people experience the outside world in clearer weather during the day more than they experience real life outside during the night or with rain, so there's less reference points for a lot of people's brains or eyes to compare a game to apart from films or Tv where it is faked a lot of the time anyway because of the need for expensive low light sensors in camera's for clear results. Reflection mapping, lights and darkness are the main things also that people can fall back on and it's easy to replicate those things and make them better looking in games when the darkness and atmosphere means you can fade out most of the distant details that could usually be used to judge on whether something is realistic or not during the daytime. I think this could be one of the reasons anyway, also this could combine with other stuff or just be one factor that plays a role for some people :D
GTA V VR mod is insane. Cannot wait for GTA VI VR mod. Hopefully, PC won't have to wait too long after console to get GTA VI.
Nice one mate
Unrecord looks super real in the middle of the day
I tried a VR mod in GTA 5 once. When I was there, I stole a motorcycle. The cops started chasing me. By the time I made it to the casino, I had to rip the headset off and run to the bathroom so I could puke my guts up. That thing gave me vertigo big time. I'm an old man too. It took several hours before I started feeling normal again.
The darn thing wouldn't let me use it in online mode. I doubt I'll ever do it again. Proceed with caution. I gave my headset to my nephew.
Wow.....I installed everything......virtual reality is dead.....is it dying?....but not for us!😀 Thanks Beardo but obviously THANKS LUKE😁
when you almost crashed I twitched 🤣
The scary thing is if rockstar realizes they can put GTA six as a real city in VR. People are actually going to be shopping with real money for products and VR.
i just had a flashback to when i was homeless in hollywood. you rode by bushes i used to live in lol. actually, my apartment is a block away from the park where micheal fights the aliens: the park where the guy is getting signatures on the pot petition. oh ok you just _had to_ go blowing shit up in my neighborhood lol
I wish allot more games had VR support or just Mods for VR. even just third person games, been able to move yourself in the world as a camera, feels great. or like in this video, you just looking around in first person, even though its still controller/ keyboard controls. it brings you more into the game which is soo much fun.
UEVR 1.04 IS BEST MOD FOR LOT OF GAMES
Cyberpunk2077 VR mod (Luke Ross mod) is next level.
BTW - The Santa Monica Pier is the location of Vault 33. Watch the tv show and you will recognize some of those bits. ;)
I wonder if it will be a thing in digital media in the near future where people will be able to license out their likeness. Famous places (Venice beach bring a prime example) where regulars and people known to hang out/work there could sell or rent out their likeness to appear in that place. Businesses have done it (and will no doubt get more and more into it) and of course well known YTers etc have already appeared in games such as Cyberpunk.
If I was one of the "faces" of Venice beach i'd be giving rock star a call. You could have that rollerskating guitar dude as an npc in GTA. Shit, they could package up "IRL people" sets as DL-npc-C!! Lol
He didn’t go to the shoe store😢that has to be the best vr experience
This Is beautiful
lol, so funny watching someone play GTA for the first time, not knowing whats going on all the time.
To make it even more realistic, you need to obey traffic lights when riding the bike :D
Holy Crap! This looks insane!!
Gonna need that GTX 8090 to come out to play this at 120fps 😂
There's a reason that the reveal of the T-Rex in Jurassic Park was at night in the rain. Those lighting conditions are easier to replicate. Harsh point lights and sharp shadows and glossy wet surfaces
The thunder needs to be delayed by a few seconds to give you the realism of sound delay. The graphics look gorgeous tbh, although it's odd seeing the NPCs walk through puddles and you don't see their reflection.
🤣The dick comment had me laughing!!
late response but you could install latest quantV it has raindrops on vehicles effect or you could watch a tutorial on how to replace dirt textures on vehicles with 4k raindrops it sounds complicated but it's fairly simple it's just replacing dirt textures with 4k raindrops although you won't be able to see raindrops roll down if you replace dirt textures
Can`t find rollback files to 1.0.2189.0 becouse its only works with this update right ?
Dude, it rains and storms in LA once every 3 years
This mod comes with motion sickness when moving due to the rendering method on each eye. Otherwise, it's a work of art when looked at from a professional standpoint. Try it if you can. I did it with a steering wheel and despite being a huge pain to set up, it was a lot of fun.
You looked straight at the skatepark on Venie Beach NPCs skateboarding and people watching, should have walked over. And yes those restaurants are real at Venice Beach I used to live in LA
loved it m8
Hey Beardo how did you fix the glowing edges on stuff in game? This is just about Luke's mod in general not the graphics mod XD
it looks better at night because you can see less. Daytime can look good, but requires higher quality textures, models and most importantly colour grading and correction.
I'm not sure what world you live in Beardo, although it does look good, your real world GTA looks nothing like my real world?
Bruh.. Venice blew my mind.. it’s like weirdly accurate and totally wrong at the same time
How about finally doing a video on Stray with uevr, it can be played even on a 3080, and it looks beautiful 😁
Incorrect , Cyberpunk due to path tracing , now shines the brightest in broad daylight (pun intended)
But seriously the most realistic shots are with sunlight now.
The reason why most games shine in the night, is because they use traditional rasterized lighting and broad sunlight doesn’t interact with everything the way it should.
While in nighttime fake cubemap/ssr reflections , fake shiny floors and fake baked lighting tricks the eye.
With pathtrcing the story changes.
That’s why Cybeorunk looks so much better than any other game ever.
I don’t wanna cook anymore?! That’s what she said!
Same principle with selling a used car, do it at night in the rain ;)
Nice vid! GTAVR is a bloody hoot and a holla! Just farting about is enough, with a steeringwheel and the "Manual transmission" mod it shines even more! (But, regarding the ghosting and whatnot, im shure you have done the ins and outs, but for me setting the HZ to 120 and turning off "Asyncronus spacewarp" smoothens out a fair bit of the "not frame related artifacting")
Gotta torture the ol GPU with natural vision now so thanks for that! ;)
i wish you would have looked up when hitting people in the car, so we can see them fly up over the car and ragdoll lol
This is your daily reminder that your eyeballs aren't cameras and enabling things like lens flares, motion blur, chromatic aberration, depth of field (without eyetracking) is only going to confuse your brain more.
