    Been going there yearly to visit friends since 1984. I absolutely love that area. Super clean, well manicured, and one thing you will notice... NO utility wires.”Most” of their wiring is underground which makes for a super clean look.

      I’ve lived here for the last year after moving from Miami. Not one single person has said that or portrayed that. It’s actually the complete opposite, people here hate Miami.

      I wouldn't recommend living here. Not now at least. Garbage people, overpriced housing, horrible weather, "sunny state" yet raining 1/2 the year. I don't go out but I hear Boca has a boring social life. I don't understand why people keep moving here when there are much more beautiful and exciting places (like 1/3 of the cost) elsewhere. Especially now, with how overpopulated it is. Wouldn't recommend for your son either, schools are good but overpopulated.

    I’m 25, living in the Midwest. my parents are retiring and moving to Boca later this year and I’m gonna come with them. Doesn’t seem like it’ll be the best spot for a 25 year old but I think I will look into moving down to Fort Lauderdale after I get settled

      OrdOpinion, Anything specific? Because this realtor and people like me being a homeowner in East Boca for over 21 yrs and East of I-95 Deerfield Bch home homeowner for over 4yrs, I have just my opinion on what areas I would want to live closer. I would definitly live East of Military and even better, Just east of I-95. For me and espcially if I was twenty-something again. Location, location. Less traffic and you are closer to the special gems of Boca. On 2nd and 4th Ave there are duplexes and apts you can find. And if you don't mind living in some older parts of Boca that are centrally located and you are ok with what comes with that, there are 2 bedroom older duplexes for I think $2,300. But don't hold me to that. I just know of my niece just completing her lease. She lived in an older duplex pn a street that is lined with houses that turned rentals. One block east of Dixie between Spanish River and 20th st. If U can afford $2,300 I would consider some gorgeous apt homes in Cocounut Creek on Hilsboro Blvd, but further West, just a kiss east of 441. You get more for your money, perhaps, but you are about 12miles from thr heart of Boca. Any realtor can guide you even on rentals. They figure you will buy one day, so learn about South Florida from them.

      Hello! I lived in Boca in the past, people get these things that cover their windows with for protection, but most windows are hurricane proof. A lot of Hurricane protection buildings, aswell. Hopefully this answered your question.

    Did anybody catch that she said Spanish settlers came to the area in 1895 that would be after the civil war that's not right at least not the year?

    • @onduty6024
      @onduty6024 Pƙed rokem +1

      Spanish were all over Florida from the late 1500's on, and pirates were common too. But, you're right, any Spanish 'settlers' from that time in the area now known as Boca Raton wouldn't have been any more than temporary beach campers. Boca Raton didn't have non-native people moving in until around 1895. By 1903, there were about 18 people (yes eighteen.)
