I profoundly admired Gilda Radner. I have never forgotten her.
He was born without a spine... It was just a matter of time... 😂 😂
The guy who invented the smiley face in Worcester during an advert convention ma never trademarked it so someone else did and he got zilch..
Todd's pants that came up to his arm pits.....there are no words to describe how funny that is!!!
I love the representation between a mother and daughter actually supporting and caring for one another, im sick of the enemies cliches because that cliche is not always true.❤
God bless you, Gilda. You continue to inspire so many.
Old SNL madness was the Best times ever!! You could laugh on your worst Days
Jane & Gilda. Two performers of staggering brilliance and genius. And they vibe like a mum & daughter.
I’m not sure how many times they’d played these characters up to this point. At least a couple, so they had time to flesh out their roles. Perfect vibes for sure.
"The man supplies the mayonnaise.".... that killed me.
Gilda doesn’t get nearly the credit she deserves for being a brilliant physical comedian. From the first 20 seconds of the sketch, you can tell she puts everything into her performance. Her facial expressions and movements are hilarious! Every female comedy sketch performer owes her a debt of gratitude. She put so much warmth and joy into all of her characters. Thank you for all the laughs, Gilda❤️
Agreed 💯! I noticed the way she shuffles over to and up the stairs after Todd rings the bell. She’s totally in character. Warmth and joy indeed!
I can say is, my sons grew up on SNL, and watch to this day, as I've been watching from the first!! 😂❤
Gilda's the bar by which all other SNL females are judged by, one of the original Not Ready For Prime Time Players. RIP GR.
She was amazing and my comedy hero. So sad when she died.
Forever Gilda Radner.
To this day, Gilda was the sweetest and most talented female comedian I have ever seen. Impossible not to like her.
True Story...
And her love for Gene Wilder😊
Like Chris, and the 2 John's, she left us too soon
I don’t like her
I read once that John Belushi was on record saying that women can't be funny. Working with Gilda Radner should have shown him that that's not true.
Bill & Gilda had a great chemistry together. Their skits were always wonderful.
Oh, yes! There's a certain special something in the air whenever they play off each other.
Legend has it, Bill, Gilda, and Gene Wilder partook in three ways
Weren’t they dating then.
Yes. They were in love. Look at the other clip of Lisa' felt sweater.
Didn't he abuse her in their relationship?
God bless Gilda, for all the happiness she brought, to millions of people.
I wish NBC would show reruns of these episodes once in a while just to show the younger generation how great this show used to be and how talented these cast members were.
We need them now in quarantine!
The Not Ready for Prime Time Players would out-do the prime-time players of any generation.
I noticed the old snl comedians never looked at que cards to deliver their lines. Quality man.. Quality...
@@khairiledzhamismail1029I don't think Lorne made them look at the cue cards all the time like now. Because some of the SNL alums said Lorne made it mandatory to read from the cards to get a better camera angle sometimes after the show started, he simply did not like the idea of the actors facing each other and not the audience. You know, Lorne got to that point with the trial and error method and Murray & Radner were the first generation of SNL, you can't just say that memorizing is the best way to make a sketch better.
as a 17 year old i second this I wish I had easier access to older snl sketches
I love that she's going to the prom in her housecoat. 😄
I know that was supposed to be funny, but I found it to be quite sentimental, and charming. It was well done.
Thought the same. The ending left the tone not of laughing at, but with the characters. There wasn't malice. The characters are total dorks but instantly likable and relatable.
This feels much more like a sitcom than a skit.
I'd watch that sitcom
Buck Henry, picking his nose 😃😅😄🤣🤣
This was when we all stayed up in the dorm and watched as a communal experience. Those were the days. It was always funnier to watch with a group.
Pot was never involved. :)
I was a child then but my older sister and I would stay up and watch it on her small black and white TV.
Yes. Same.
Yes! Order pizza, make some nachos, and SNL.
Same here, I had the only TV on my dorm floor and had a full house every Saturday night. Alcohol was never involved either....
Remembering these early SNL days is special! So glad we can still watch with pride at how creatively these skits were written an performed! Genius to this day! Amen! ❤
Lisa and Todd --- A 20th century American love story with lots of noogies.
Gilda was so damn funny, naturally funny too. What a great talent she was.
Todd and Lisa are iconic! The Lupner’s skits were brilliant!
I miss those old SNL shows!
Oh my god my mom says "forty lashes with a wet noodle"
ANY NEW DEVELOPMENTS GOING ON WITH YOUR CHEST I GUESS NOT.LOL
Loved Gilda Radnor as Roseanne Rosannadanna!!! RIP 🙌
'lovely house coat Mrs. Lubner.'
Gilda’s voice is so great here😂 she’s awesome
Lisa Loopner! ...rest in Peace, Gilda. At least Gene's with you now.
Gilda was so awesome, I miss her. Love those pants on Bill Murray, LOL.
If you watch how he maneuvers to sit down it is quite obvious that he is quite uncomfortable.
Because they loved each other. 💖
this is so sweet - the chemistry was great, the humor gentle - ah, the old days...
“I hope this isn’t [picks nose] indelicate...” 😂
Lisa and Todd will always be funny. Gilda was just gold.
🥹 so glad these moments are around to watch again....they were all so young and beautiful
This is back in the days when SNL was good! 👍
I was in college when SNL premiered. I remember a group of us eagerly sitting in front of the TV just hysterically laughing. We wouldn't miss an episode! Amazingly talented people. They were the best!
I love Jane Curtin in anything she’s in.
3rd Rock From The Sun
This is my favorite Gilda Radner character, her voice cracks me up!
"You're so immatuuure" cracks me up.
SHE WAS REMAKABLE ! I STILL MISS HER EVEN TODAY. 💙🙏
Such wholesome humor! The early years with the original SNL cast in my opinion were the BEST! The many characters they created were priceless. So talented. Gilda was my favorite. RIP dear lady. Now that the real BA BA WA WA has passed I hope you both meet in heaven.
The Not Ready for Prime Time Players were waaaaaaaaaay before their time
Not so sure what is so wholesome about band-aids on mosquito bites.
@@MickSupper how old are you ? if you're young the joke flew over your head like a jet plane if older you lack a sense of humor
@@michaellorenzen8200 I never said anything about it being funny or not, I said there's nothing wholesome about it. And no, it wasn't funny.
She's probably in heaven in a hot tub with Hugh downs and now Henry kissinger can join them and it can be reported on 20/20 my Bad that's Cheri Oteri
They didn't have to look at the cue cards like they do now. They knew their lines and improvised well too. Miss them.
When Jane turned off the lights, I got goosebumps. They just don't make comedy like this anymore.
That was my favorite part.
me too 😢
Wow, I felt it too. ❤
Who the heck could dislike this? Back when SNL was actually funny and worthwhile to watch.
Wasn't Gilda great?
and gorgeous!
She still is.....Great Art never dies...😸✌
willminkorea2010 ya
willminkorea2010 -My favorite on S.N.L.
willminkorea2010 Hahahaha
How could ANYONE dislike the sweetest and funniest Gilda!
Oh my gosh,I forgot about Todd and Lisa!!😂These episodes were the best!
I can watch this over and over. They were all so brilliant especially Gilda.
Definitely a different kind of humor. I really like vintage humor, but this skit I just didn't get.
The housecoat, classic 70’s wardrobe!
I always wished Lisa and Todd would get married. They would make each other laugh. Her marriage to Gene Wilder sounds like it was like that.
This is like a tiny time capsule of the American experience in the 70s. It's funny to see how times have changed in only 40 years.
"only 40 years" okayy
What do you think has changed the most? Based on this skit.
I prefer the original Not Ready for Prime Time players.
@@elizabethcosslett8937 Remember kissing hello? Shaking hands? Standing close together? :) I miss those things!
@@BeLoud13 The kissing hello thing always got me in trouble with strangers ;)
Brings back so many memories. When SNL was good! I miss those days
Rip Gilda, they don't make them like you anymore.
She was one in a million, wasn't she?
She was remarkably funny, sure miss her wit...
I loved the Lisa and Todd sketches as a kid. Thanks
"That's so funny, I forget to laugh"😂😂😂
Gilda was always my favorite! True talent! No cue cards!! ❤️❤️
Buck Henry’s laugh is everything!
THANKS! I was scanning comments to find his name mentioned. OMG Buck Henry - I wonder if he's still alive. Nope - he died @ 89 in 2020. A long life.
"Gee mrs cleaver, thats a lovely dress youre wearing today"
" why thank you, eddie"
Man! I miss THIS SNL. But I miss Gilda more. 💖
She dead?
Alex Marquettiukn. she died in 1989
Love those characters Lisa & Todd. Always make me lol..😅🤣😂🤣😅
Rip buck and Gilda u are both missed dearly
OMG!! One of the best SNL sketches ever!! Tang! I wish they would post the one where Lisa and Todd "make out". Hysterical!!
RIP Buck (last January) and Gilda!
This was so wholesome
10/10 highly recommend
I absolutely love Gilda, so extremely gifted and beyond comical and funny, she can never be replaced 💯👏🏻🤍🤍
Gilda was always one of my favorites on SNL.
Bills Muray pants...
You must mean Bills "Muray-Pants"! I've had 3 pair! A lot of people thought I was Bill Murray! LOL
Gilda Radner was the real deal! RIP Gilda.
this is great. great acting, lines, jokes .. one of the best.
"Any new developments there?"
"You should put some bandage on the mosquito bites you got there". Absolutely hilarious.
"...here's special those prom nuggies you ordered!"
Yeah. Though if a guy were to do that in real life to a girl, they better be ready to get a punch in the nuts. Peanuts. Geddit? Ha-hah! (snorts + shoulder heaves)
Alex Thomas Yeah sexual harassment is so hilarious
It wasn't sexual harassment; it was just harassment. Didn't you watch the goofy sexless relationship between those two? It is part of the joke of them being nerds.
I have to agree -- in this instance, it's really just two friends (who probably like each other) screwing with each other. This is a long running skit series, and these two characters are close. They have an understanding about physicality.
Band aids on those mosquito bites - Nuggies For All, LOL ! I always think of this skit whenever I hear the word nuggie. Lisa/Gilda Radner gave us laugher with every great memorable character she portrayed on SNL. (RIP).
jane curtin who plays gilda's mother is actually one year younger than gilda lol
Jane Curtin😊Makes a GREAT Mother🤘🏼🏆
So does Sally Acorn, whom Jane should really voice.
These 2 were wonderful together! I loved Gilda! It's hard to believe she's been gone a little more than 30 years!
This is 39 years old. Damn.
Foodisgood its 40 years old now
@Andrew Brunnette yes it is
Its gonna hit its midlife crisis soon lol
Andrew Brunnette not that “old” how about 60 yrs old
You: not that old
I forgot how cute these sketches were.
Oh my god the dad said John Ravolta! 😵
Piemaster927 he’s lived up to that name hahahaha!
A lot of the old people weren’t Travolta fans.
One of the best skits ever
God, this bring back memories. I remember staying up late with my sister to watch Saturday Night. I was just six, I loved Gilda; she was my favorite.
We lost such a talent. Gilda was so funny without even trying
The tray full of Tang, omg! (Especially since we actually drank it when we were kids.) And 1-2-3 jello, get out of here...
I remember we wanted to drink Tang because that's what the astronauts drank in space! LOL
My husband still does lol
These two were comedic geniuses!
" Tang, the drink of the astronauts, astronauts to the moon, yak, yak, yak!. Thank you coneheads.
SNL was so much funnier... back then with the not ready for prime time players. Gilda was so funny... a true comic genius... and a legend. The characters she portrayed were hilarious. Gilda you have been gone so long... but not forgotten.
No offense, but what was so funny about this?
geekymelanin
None taken... to each they're own. Everyone has a different opinion of what they think is funny and humorous. I prefer comedy that is not so vulger and offensive. I happen to think this is funny. Have a good day.
Todds man bulge for starters.
It’s a sad parody of what it used to be
geekymelanin you don’t find the way Gilda’s character talks funny? I was rolling over in tears. Look at Bill Murray’s pants. “No new developments” (goes for breasts) “guess not”. Don’t you get the ‘providing the mayonnaise’ reference when she refers making babies to making egg salad?
Oh God, I love the Nerds! I used to watch SNL as a kid and stay up way past my bedtime to watch the show!
It was 90 minutes of hilarity plus great musical acts! I miss that Show now but at least I can watch it again on CZcams!
Classic Live Comedy! Thanks CZcams!
The late Seventies was a great time for music with the Punk explosion and then came New Wave Music! They actually had Elvis Costello and the Attractions on back when he was still an angry young punk! What great music that was! Good Times!
The late Seventies were full of disco too. Don't tell me you didn't like disco, EVERYBODY loved disco.
This never gets old....freakin' hilarious!
His pants were killing me. Lol
70s pants!
I know that some bad things happened back then during the time, but I tend to think of the seventies as being a more innocent decade, compared to what the world is going through now. RIP Gilda.
It was the turning point between the way things pretty much always used to be to the new greedy repugnicon era with their first feckless leader, ron reagan, the actor.
Innocent? W t a F...
@@paintinganimalsonrocks7633 “Okay, Future Boy, tell me this: WHO is president of the United States in 1985?”
The times Buck Henry hosted were always the best! It was guaranteed you’d get a Samurai sketch and at least one sketch they could never get away with today (I.e. Uncle Roy the babysitter)
Uncle Roy!!
Oh wow! I forgot about uncle Roy! Sshhh! Don’t say it too loud though. They’re canceling folks all the way back to the caveman era right now.
Those were the days. Snl at its best. Hilarious.
I've always hoped that "Lisa" and "Todd" got married and lived happily ever after. They were good for each other.
Me too, as my name is Lisa and my amazing boyfriend Todd should be asking me to marry him soon. 🤞👍😃
@@lisahartlaub5485 Congrats on the future engagement.
@@lisahartlaub5485 prob just get a noogie 😂
Jane Curtin has always been a beauty.
Lisa Lubner and Taaaaaaaaaaad!!
such a sweet sketch, I remember seeing it when it first was on, just out of high school
my mother and father and I would huddle around our little black and white TV and watch SNL together those were great times all 3 of us ROTFL our butts off then repeating the best lines all week long until next weekend
Bill Murray, I remember this skit and knew he was gonna be a treasure.
Gilda Radner was just the best, she always made me laugh. I loved the Todd and Lisa skits, classic.
IDK why but this somehow makes me sad ;'(
Pity for nerds perhaps :/
It makes me think of a simpler more innocent time.. idk what it is but a prom today seems more fake.. is it just me?
me too, no one could be sweeter than Gilda by a long shot
Valerie Young
Go Fuck yourself snowflake
Thomas Schneider Shut up.
This is truly hilarious 😂. It’s much better than SNL now a days.
The times sure have changed. When Bill Murray did that noogie patrol bit on Keke Palmer, it only got him in trouble.
It was so much better than it is today
May 20, 1978.. Woah..
I was exactly 4 days old that day.
Star Wars was one years old by then. IT WAS ONLY ONE YEARS OLD!
I was 18 and this was cutting edge tv. No computers, cellphones, internet.
Castiel Imposter Wow I was only 1 day and 4 months old at this time.
Classic SNL. A perfect skit with so many repeatable lines. We love you all!
I love Todd and Lisa. These were the days!!
Don't u just mis SNL early days?
I miss real comedy. Remember laffing 'til you cried?
