- These three time signatures are a great start for a beginner to music reading. The time signatures first appear on page 6 of Thinking Theory Book 1, along with plenty of practice and review.

After this video students will be prepared to complete page 6 of Thinking Theory Book One which is available for purchase here: colourfulkeys.ie/shop/thinking...
The Thinking Theory books are available as digital licenses or hardcopies and take students from beginning music theory right the way through to a late intermediate music theory level.
✩ Thinking Theory is a series of music theory workbooks, designed to accelerate learning while providing plenty of reinforcement of each concept.
✩ All concepts are presented in a clear and concise way and page layouts are clean and consistent.
✩ No topic is introduced without being revisited several times later in the book.
✩ Thinking Theory is designed so you can start anywhere in the series. Concepts are not left out of later books, just covered more quickly.
✩ The flashcard games provide a unique way to learn away from the page, and make learning and teaching more secure and more fun.
✩ The “Level Up!” tests at the end of each chapter and book allow you to evaluate student learning and plan their next step.
✩ The Thinking Theory Plus books provide a lateral move for students who had finished one book but are not quite ready for the next.
✩ Singing with solfa (moveable do) is integrated into the theory books. Solfa helps students with ear training, transposing, sight reading and composition.

Thank you, my project for music this quarter was to make a time signature then perform it. This helped a lot.

Hi, I have a small piano studio, and I'd love to post this on our page. Would that be okay?

Thank you :)
No problem 😊
What is a quarter-note beat? Since all the time signatures are defined in terms of
the "quarter note beat", what are we talking about?
As you advance in theory level you will see time signatures with different numbers at the bottom. At this level, it's enough to understand that quarter notes are one beat but that does vary when you get to other time signatures.
thank youu
