When you're getting into that level of zoom, it really helps to have a tripod with a handle for panning and such. I think you can get remote zoom controls, too, so you can do it more seamlessly. Really kind of relegated to having a camera man at that point.
I think the new camera definitely has its place
I very much agree
If you stay zoomed out with that 4k camera you can just crop out what you don't want in editing, but kev was playing with the zoom way to much. When I use those cameras an external mic was essential. If I remember correctly it comes with a 360 mic on top of it but it's not fantastic, it's decent though. Kev you also need a gimbal or just a handle for it. Will help with the camera shake
Hey Kevin, it is 1.15hr AM in The Netherlands and I am still awake. I was watching others movies and then there was this notification popped up you send a new movie on youtube. I started rigth after it. So now I sleep a little bit later I expected. Thank you and good nigth👍
Kev, unless on a tripod, filming zoomed in for fast moving objects is always going to be tough. But, used sparingly it can add a lot to your videos. Another tip to create smoother zoomed shots is to do those shots in a higher frame rate so you can slow it down in post editing. Slow motion shots are naturally smoother. All depends on the cameras specs though. Finally, I know it’s a faf, but external audio will always be better than the built in pre-amps. Definitely worth it.
Well man holy Jesus I’d like to have some of your energy. 😂
The sound is a lot better, and the ability to zoom is nice, but use it sparingly! Especially with a lot of movement in the frame. End of speed runs it would be nice!
Can’t wait too see the results🤩
Camera, love to see a rc close up kicking dirt, suspension moving, tires ballooning.. Thunder RC has it nailed. Helicopter part was tough without seeing horizon line. All better then goPro.
Nice mate hope you get the record
You need to be somewhat zoomed out to give a sense of perspective and context with fast moving subjects. There are times and places for being zoomed in and it's great to have that capability when you want/need it or when the situation requires it. Faster moving action, typically, doesn't lend itself to high levels of zoom but it would be ideal for your bench repair videos.
Yes, and when tracking fast moving objects you allow them to come into your shot, and you pan after them slightly slower so they go out of the shot. you don't try and track subjects close up, you make ppl nauseous.
Think of a race where cars are coming from the left to right. You don't rock back and forth as each car passes, you maybe move the camera 10 deg left to right but mostly you keep it still and allow the cars to come in and leave the shot.
Love the camera. Definitely deserves a spot in rotation
Camera and audio quality so much better. Especially the dynamic range and not blowing out highlights all the time
Hey Kevin I absolutely love the footage from the new camera it's very clear and very right on the subject. I will admit though there was times where the camera was zoomed in a little too much but other than that I found it very enjoyable to watch you know straight to the point and focused on the subject
The outside footage in daylight was defo better than inside footage love the heli videos👍
You need to make a nitro rc burnout car for a challenge and love your videos
I love that new footage!
The new camera focuses in a reasonable amount of time. Lovely pictures. Actually really good top 10% quality. Now let's see it on a cloudy day with some drizzle. Enjoy the sunshine first.
loved the video, thought the new cam was great, the zoom was a bit shakey but over all its a learning proccess. Way to go and keep up the good work!
I like the view of it zoomed out more.
Gives better perspective of speed and abilities
Yes the new camera is awesome!
Not sure about the camera, but I'm excited to see that speedy sausage!
Camera has its place not for copters. I’m not a huge fan of helicopters, but it’s nice to see different things you can do with rc.
Great footage!
Pretty crisp n detailed I'd keep using it
Can not wait to see the new world record speed car. By far one of your favorite series
Tanks for the videos ...all its just incredibles...verry good job friend 😮❤❤❤
Good result 👍
The new camera is out of this world on stuff like the helis but not so much on the racing. I'd like to see a livestream of a build/upgrade on something like the losi to see how the stable zoom looks 👍
That big Helicopter is awesome 💯
The way the camera processes where it's zooming in is awesome! Tripod would be great or a gimbal for a much stable movement when zooming in
I started a new hobby with flying sub 250g fpv drones. I now actually enjoy doing tricks more than bashing my rc cars. I like building my drones and it's not that expensive. Only thing is that you need learning a lot of new stuff (setting up betaflight, flashing, best practices etc). So if you find flying helicopters is to expensive this could be a alternative.
Big difference with the new camera. Love it.
Thanks Kevin, now i got to get my xmaxx back out. The proline badlands darn near made me poor from tearing up diffs. I never thought to get some less aggressive smaller tires. Between a locked center diff and badlands i couldnt get through a battery pack without losing teeth on the diffs
Kev! That turbine helicopter!wtc!🤯🤷♂️🤘 I know in the past you told us that helicopter clubs had not really nice people. I know you don't hang out with bad people. But that helicopter crew you have there! Juste love them! They are perfect on the camera, funny and all! Cheers to them mate! Really like the heli footage ! Man can you fly those things! 🤯👌👍👊
Seemed good to me ,like any new thing takes awhile to learn it .
The camera was a little grainy, but the xmaxx drift was INSANE
I love ur videos and they look great keep up the great work
Nice to see you have stepped up your camera footage game 😁
Man I’ve gotta get my rcs back and running
I like the new camera! awesome to zoom with clarity! those helicopters are looking like alot of fun! thanks for all you do!
I like the new camera. Other than what you said about the audio. Picture is Beautiful. Keep up the Awesome Videos. I live vicariously through you. Lol
Kev! Love your vids.
Also I love how you blame the heli for crashing and not the pilot xD.
Can't wait to see the speed run man
Awesome Quality, but yes definitely something to get better at.
I'm from Mexico and I like your style of video making your videos very entertaining keep up the good work
Full power!!!⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡💣💣💣💣🚀🚀🚀🚀👍👍👍👍🦾🦾🦾🦾💯💯💯💯💯🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
Man that jet turbine heli was awesome 👏
New camera rocks Kev !
That was awesome the helicopter footage those guys are really good.
Ive been waiting fot this video
Can't wait to see what Kevin does on this channel
Kind of weird he didn't put something new here prior to pumping it on his main channel. Looking forward to future content nonetheless!
Edit: Ah, n/m. There is newer stuff under the "Live" section in his videos.
@@keyser456 do you like that he adds music to his videos or would you like to hear the raw audio of the cars
Inside track camera. Zoom out to mid. No need for close unless looking at single car over specific moment to get articulation or some detail that is amazing etc... Put in slow mo later etc
Always good for certain shots, gives you more footage to play with. Lots of RC fun🫡
The amount of skill you need to fly those heles well done boys
The further I get into the video the more I love this camera ❣️
I should probably add that I'm an FPV pilot as well so it's very hard for ANY film to make me feel dizzy
footage quality seems really good
As for Kevin haters - who cares! I’ve been at everything rc for 45 yrs and nobody’s has said it better than Kevin Talbot. What ever puts a smile on your face is the right thing. These are toys after all. I just wish I had the resources to have as much fun as you do!
i have that same camera and love it, i use it for everything including ghost hunting!
Hey Kev! Nice limo!
I feel like when you were racing on the track it was a bit too zoomed in, it would probably be better if it was somewhat zoomed in but not to where you can’t see what the next bit of track the car is going to hit
New camera is a GOOOO!!!!
I like it. Like a bunch of other people said, a tripod would be good. The helicopter seems very crisp when you zoom into it.
Quality, even zoomed in, was really clear. For me to notice, I had to make sure my settings were set on high quality. The mic needs a lil help. Love your videos always been a fan of rc cars but never been able to afford a good one. Thanks for what you do.
Maaan that helly is awesome
Camera quality is awesome
my friend great great videos you are insane🏁
Any info on that hoverboard behind Greg? I haven’t seen anything like it so it might be a custom build!
Nice camera kev i also got a new one
The more you zoom the harder it is for the camera to focus. If you use that you need a stand to put it on and dont try to move it fast. For fast movement 2x zoom is the best
You can try it out
The sound is very good actually
Is it just me or every time I come to this channel the goddamn cars get more crazy
When you zoom in, don`t loose the horizon! Because then we loose perspective, and keep the pilot in frame.
great camera
I like the new camera
Footage iz niiiice!
camera was nice but probably better for scrawler stuff vs high speed due to focusing and a bit of grain. love the video's kev keep doing what u do
Also when zoomed in picture quality drops
Squashed a ton of content in there Kev.
That gas turbine helicopter is mahoosive
Awesome
Really better than Smartphone or GoPro! Hard to follow subject zoomed in when you do not know where it moves to. Have a good day Kev 👍
Nice updates i'm glad your RC adventures are going great and that new camera you got seems to work wonderfully. And i want to ask you which large scale SCT do you recommend more, The Losi 5IVE-T 2.0 or the new 30 Degree North V2 Truck? I can't seem to make my mind up and they don't seem to have the 30 degree north truck roller available in the US yet.
I hope he keeps using this cam, it’s so good.
Looks great.
Have you got a UV or polariser on the camera yet?
Sometimes a higher resolution camera can be used to produce a lower resolution, so you can film in 4k zoomed out and then zoom in when editing and still get a nice 1080 final video.
Hey Kevin
I have the same camera as you but when I edit I have six audio tracks. How can I bring the six together on one track? Thanks for your cool videos and for the help.😉👌
The camera sound in the quality of a picture is definitely much better and we could hear you just fine from behind the camera if you were standing behind it
Feels like a documentary filming Kevin Talbot
Good camera
Record in 4k, and then use 1920*1080 Cropped to track. this helps with stability & tracking fast moving objects. it's how a lot of people do it!
having a gimbal or a tripod on the new cam will really help kev. other than the shots being a bit shaky, the image quality is better
The balance of that speed car will be interesting to see. Will try and spin around at high speed I think.
Maybe you'll get a gimbal for the camera then it won't be so blurred / shaky when you zoom in?
Can you do a review on the three mjx hyper go rc cars as I have one and it takes a beating for the price they are perfect off bang good
Need longer videos!!!
Nice clear video almost too sharp for zooming but I think with practice and some setting changes and that new cam will be awesome
As a camera fanatic, i always wondered how your vids come out so well with the fixed focal length cameras you use.. I found that this AX53 Sony hasn't added much benefit, better to have put a few more camera operatives out to film the footage in wide angle but closer. .The older sonys with balanced optical gimbal type lenses have the best stabilization.
That giant heli might be able to chop you in half kev what a beast of an rc
When you’re filming the helis it’s best to have the trees or ground in the shot for a vantage point. If it’s just blue sky you can’t really tell if the helicopter is moving up/down/fast/slow etc
Video quality is much better than the previous videos..
Camera Looks Sweet Kev! slightly jarring/blurry when zoomed in on the buggy racing, but think it would create an awesome master shot you could zoom into afterwards with that Resolution... ? But what do I know! All the Best Dude! :)
Awesome. Yes need a extra mic and tripod.
Without any stabilization you really should have a gimble/ stabilizer for the camera. It makes a huge difference. An external mic with the fuzzy cover helps with wind noise massively.
