    #shampoobar #DIY
    Recipe:
    Cleansing Phase:
    Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI Powder ) - 32.5 grams
    Cocomidoproyl Betaine (CAPB) - 7.5 grams
    Conditioning Phase:
    Kokum Butter - 2.5 grams
    Jojoba Oil - 2.5 grams
    Thickening Agents:
    Stearic Acid - 1.5 grams
    French Green Clay - 2.5 grams
    Cool down phase:
    Essential Oil(Tea tree, Lemongrass, Rosemary) - 0.75 grams
    Eco Preservative - 0.25 grams ( I used ISCAguard PEG )
    Tips and Substitutions:
    * Kokum Butter can be replaced with cocoa butter, shea butter, mango butter.
    * Jojoba oil is good for hair. If you want to replace, go for coconut oil.
    * French Green clay can be replaced with any other soft clays like kaolin clay or even bentonite clay.
    * Essential oil is optional. You can use any oil that is available to you. Check the usage rates here.
    ------ www.eocalc.com/
    * Preservatives are mandatory while making shampoo bar. Even though we did not use any water in the recipe, the shampoo bar will be constantly in contact with water. Without preservatives, it will be a positive ground for mould formation.
    Usage:
    * Apply directly on wet hair and lather it up with your hands.
    * Wash off with water.
    * Shampoo's are meant to be used on scalp not on the roots of hair.
    *This recipe is suitable for all hair types.

    Thank you so much for sharing this video & recipe! I am a cold process soap maker and have wanted to make a shampoo bar. So many video's on CZcams make it look so hard and use SO MANY ingredients. I really wanted to use natural coloring instead of dye, so happy to see you use green clay, which I use a lot! I also LOVE your shamrock mold, where did you get it? Thank you so much for your video, I saw your post on the facebook group-Syndet Bars

    Hi, I've been watching your videos and I really enjoy your content. I've already tried out your emulsified body butter. It's awesome. Just a quick question, can I use cetostearyl alcohol (CSA) in place of stearic acid? That's what I've got on hand. I'm just a beginner and don't know much about these ingredients. :|

    @sreemanis Před rokem

    I have done some shampoo bars with SCI limiting to 49 percent and the remaining 10 percent with corn starch/arrowroot powder, 5 percent with the ingredients like soapnut, shikakai, Fenugreek, amla. Your recipes have stearic acid and I can see the difference in texture because of stearic acid. I'm going to tweek my formulae by adding stearic acid

    Hi! I am planning on trying this recipe. May I know if I can instantly use the shampoo after 24 hrs of curing? Or should I wait for a week after unmoulding before using it? In case I have to wait after unmolding, how should I store it? Can I just leave it on the shelf? Or should I wrap it with a cling wrap to avoid losing the scent?

    • @KraftBee
      @KraftBee  Před 2 lety

      It's best to cure the shampoo bars for a week. Just keep it on a shelf. Do not cling wrap. It is normal to lose some amount of scent as the essential oils are volatile in nature. But the efficacy of oils will be the same.

    Heya .. what conditining agent u used in this bar..

    • @KraftBee
      @KraftBee  Před 3 lety +1

      It's kokum butter and jojoba oil. Stearic acid also helps to give some slip to the bar. Since it's a beginner recipe, I didn't add any advanced conditioning ingredients.

    Thank you for this vedio. My question though, is it okay that you used about 65% of SCI? I thought you cant use it more than 50%. Am I wrong here? I hope I am because I really want to use a higher percentage of SCI.

    • @KraftBee
      @KraftBee  Před 2 lety +1

      You're right. But there are few things to consider here. First, I'm trying to formulate a recipe with minimal ingredients. We can add one more different surfactant to reduce the % of SCI. Secondly, there is a thing called Active Surfactant Matter(ASM) for every surfactant. Sci comes even with 65% ASM. That means even if you add 100 grams of SCI, you will still have 65% ASM. You can check this details with your supplier. Thirdly, adding amphoteric surfactant like CAPB will enhance the mildness of SCI. Taking all these into consideration, and my own experience with this shampoo bar, you can definitely go and try this😊
