    As a starting freelancer in digital marketing, I work mostly with contractors. What I found challenging is to understand their capacities of work. My tip is: ask your client how much work(customers) they can handle. Sure, as many leads as possible is good. But it can also harm their reputation; slow response time, no answer, bad service etc. Great video 🤙

    Marketing is only one very small part of getting work, especially for custom builders. Converting is the key and utilising technology to communicate with Clients is the mechanism. In my opinion, doing a great job as promised to the client is the best form of marketing. Word of mouth sells more homes than paid marketing every day of the week. The tips you gave are generally known and were great 10 years ago, however, nowadays the issue with your tips is that most know them and when most know them the cost to initiate and implement is very high.

    • @Marketing360
      @Marketing360  Před 5 lety +5

      Word of mouth will always be an incredibly powerful tool in a business owner's arsenal. However, especially if you're just starting out, it can be incredibly difficult to build as base of satisfied customers who refer business to you. Luckily most of these tips are extremely low cost (Use a CRM, email nurturing campaigns, local listing optimization, retargeting ads, etc) and a business of any size can implement them. Adding "build a referral and word-of-mouth" network to the list is a great suggestion!

      I can respect your say in this, I said it too... But nothing says EXPOSURE like a website. Yes, WOM which is the only way I've grown works 100%, but for new people and even us, it's a resource. Paid marketing in this industry I agree is a waste but for someone looking to get exposure to get an opportunity, it's probably worth the cost with them. It's actually how I started prior-to getting client via WOM. So it's actually the BIGGEST factor of getting business at least in the beginning stages considering clients don't want to respect values and only focus on the bottom dollar thus making you either reduce your price or not getting the business period.

    • @Marketing360
      @Marketing360  Před 5 lety +1

      Hey Aaron! Good thought, but no. We don't set the costs for advertising - the market does. The local market for Metro Renovations could require $2k to be successful, or it could require $15k. Spend too little and it can take a long time to gain any traction, spend too much and the market won't be able to generate enough revenue to support the budget. It's all about finding what works best for the business to help them achieve their goals.

    Best way is to be recommended by people, why pay for adds and not get called or get the job

    • @Marketing360
      @Marketing360  Před 4 lety +2

      True. Word of mouth is the best. Also, with our platform, Marketing 360, there are a lot of other options to just running ads.
      However, keep 2 things in mind if relying ONLY on word of mouth:
      1) Your potential client pool will be limited. If that pool shrinks for any reason, you're in real trouble, and then you're behind the curve on your competition when you need to generate new business.
      2) You surrender a good part of your market to competitors who are leveraging digital marketing AND ads. If you're not careful to regularly maintain those existing customer relationships (say with a CRM, email marketing, text message marketing, social media marketing, etc.) your competitors will eventually get in front of those customers with an appealing offer.
      So, just a couple things to consider.
