- For reasons know to no one they decided to remake Don't Tell Mom The Babysitters Dead. Casey and I really liked the original and decided to revisit it. Is it really Home Alone times five like the VHS cover says? Or is it just an okay coming of age story? Watch and found out!

I'm just glad Tony didn't let all the fame change him.
My wife is a little younger than me so watching 80/90s movies is a must for us so she can see how good things were. You literally review almost everything I try to show to her. Keep up the good work.
"The sea was angry that day, my friends..."
“Park it yourself, Metallica Breath.” 😂😂😂😂
That fuckng line
48:59 This movie and 'Ghostbusters' is where I learned about office petty cash as a child. 😅😂😂
This was a fun comfort movie when i was growing up, and still enjoy it to this day.
And Tony, I see you didnt forget one important thing. Always putting on a happy face.
1. Justine Bateman played the oldest sister on Family Ties.
2. It's Mr. Sardonicus. A lot of people (including me) thinks/used to think it's Dr. Sardonicus; it's kinda of a "Mandela Effect" kind of thing.
4:20 'Mr. Holland's Opus' stars Richard Dreyfuss as Mr. Holland, a music teacher who also conducts his school's orchestra/band and all the while he was composing a score on the side (his opus) and the movie has lots of dramatic twists and turns. It's a very heartwarming movie. :)
This was a favorite movie at middle school. Risky Business for the 90s. You even have X-Files and Twin Peaks connections with Kimmy Robertson and David Duchovny in the movie.
Dishes are done man... lol
I think it's more Risky Business times five.
Haha! Even before I watched this video and saw the notification, I thought, "I hope Casey will be in this video with Tony." :)
As much as I hate to admit it, "Hack the Dating" or "Talkin about Dates" is something I would listen to.
Casey is awesome! Honestly, one of the best aspects of this show is the rotating co-hosts.
I had a huge crush on Danielle Harris back then. She was a little older, but we could have made it work!
Same
That girl Casey is too adorable and funny🥰🤣
Wow, that plot was nothing like Home Alone.
Yup.
Justine Bateman was from Family Ties where she played one of Michael J Fox's sisters
Any relation to Jason Bateman?
@@kdusel1991 Yes. Tony even mentioned that
I haven't seen this movie in *at least* 25 years, and I still say "The dishes are done, man!" on a semi-regular basis.
OH and "I'm right on top of that, Rose!"
OH OH and "Per-so-nell!" Jaysus, when a movie has more influence on you than you thought 😵💫
Just wanted to say - thank you Tony and everyone for the great content over the years.
Just for the record, Mr Holland’s Opus is amazing. I watched it a lot as a kid and it’s just one of the most wholesome and inspiring movies ever. At least to me.
I'd fucking would love to see you guys cover White Chicks!! I don't care what anyone says, that movie is fucking HILARIOUS!!!
It’s on tv so much
Some of the guns in El Mariachi were real since they were able to borrow them from the local police for free, something that probably would never happen today. But they could only fire one blank at a time, so they had to edit the scenes together with tons of quick cuts.
Did you read Robert Rodriguez’s book? It’s so fascinating the things he did to make the move so cheap.
@@Chris-yv2iv many years ago but i loved it
@@D1NOSAUR1A same I read it very many years ago. Your comment tho was something I remember reading in the book. Figured you had read it. Were the very few
most the guns in movies are but they put blank bullets in them so no one gets killed
Excited to see Casey again but due to her reaction in the live wrap up 2 months ago, this should have been a Tony and Ashton review!!
I love Casey! She's super cute! And she has a great dynamic with Tony! Hoping it would be her and Crystal or her and Johanna but I'll take what I can get!
But I’m
Up for any the guests they all have their own thing about them
I keep forgetting to add my 2 cents reaffirming how real woods porn is. I would watch old episodes and tell myself next time Tony brings that up I'm going to comment. But yes totally a thing being 13 in the 90s was a magical time!
After not seeing in 20+ years I don’t remember the “ I’m on top of that! Rose” quote. Only quote I remember is “Dishes are done, man” lol.
I used to LOVE this movie as a kid. Another great review, thank you Tony and Casey and Crew!
I can confirm that “woods porn” was a thing when I grew up in Liverpool, NY.
NY too I also can confirm woods porn
Wait, Casey thought fax machines are like the tubes at a bank drive thru? I'm only 36 and now I feel old as shit.
ALWAYS a pleasure to have Casey back! Great job as usual you two! This movie was always on.... it was definitely decent and entertaining, i remember it had a pretty chill vibe with a relatively believable premise.... haven't seen it in forever, Anywho... great job tony, great job casey! 🥰
So that is a real 7 bed 7 bath house in Santa Clarita Zillow says it has a value of 2.55 million
Another 90s throwback family film is House Arrest, with Jennifer Love Hewitt among others.
Dishes are done, man.
They updated the rating on newer editions of this movie to PG-13. Kenny does use a f-bomb when his “special”plant falls off the window.
An Ichthyologist is a zoologist who studies fish.
HUGE fan of this film. Saw it at the drive-in when it came out and instantly fell in love with it. It’s a perfect time capsule of 1991 and so endlessly quotable…my wife and I quote it regularly. Christina Applegate is phenomenal in it as well as it brilliantly displays her Comedic talents even more so than Married..With Children. All in all, a true bonafide classic.
I'm right on top of that, Rose!
Toni: I don't really care about Adventures in Babysitting Me
Me: Right on
I'll defend Toni just for agreeing with me on this.
I grew up loving this movie. But you know Hollywood is running out of ideas because it's not like this was a big hit so it's all the more weird it's getting a remake.
It doesn't matter if it was initially "a big hit". It became a cult favorite over time. It's like saying The Thing is worthless because it was technically a flop at first.
How could anyone forget the Babysitter? The movie is called Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead. Also, the babysitter stealing the money is why Sue Ellen had to get a job. Also, Tony, never again suggest cutting Danielle Harris out of any movie. I didn't notice the younger kids not being in the movie much. I just figured that they were outside being kids. So, did any scenes have to be rewritten? To me, it doesn't make sense having Walter go on the roof. That should have been a scene for Zack. Although, it does lead to a cute scene of the Sue Ellen having to tell the doctor that Walter is her son, and Kenny bonding with Walter. Also, i figured that Christina not acting lively was because Sue Ellen is supposed to be drained for working too much. I didn't realize until recently that "Caroline" was also one of the mom's in Kindergarten Cop. She played Zack's mom. He's the kid was being hit by his dad
“Park it yourself… Metallica breath” A phrase I use regularly 😂
Stat Trek has tons of weird left in shot stuff since the jump to a bigger aspect ratio. The black construction paper they used to cover up the camera's reflections on the computer equipment in the background is super visible now as well
“Young Brian! Our Clown Dog server” 😅
I thought I was the only one who knew about the woods porn
27:47 Much better Adventure la in Babysitting movie is the remake called The Sitter (2011)
I am the world's biggest MetallicA fan, no one has ever, not even once in my life called me "MetallicA-breath", and well, I just don't feel whole...
51:00 Fun fact: A marine biologist who specializes in the study of fishes is called an ichthyologist (ICK-THEE-OLLOW-JIST).
To remember the term, just think of "ich" (pronounced as "ick") which is a fish disease noted by parasitical white spots on the fins and scales of aquarium fish.
Man, Tony i just l just found out I work with Kira and she was surprised how much of a fan I was of your channel. Small world. Lol
TELL THAT WOMAN TO MESSAGE ME BACK! I WANT HER ON THE SHOW AGAIN! SHE'S THE WORST AT RESPONDING!
Lol
Sadly looking it up Christopher Pettier was born in 1976 so he was 14/15 in this movie and he (of all days looking it up) passed away April 12th, 2000 (24 years ago so he'd be 48 today). RIP and Happy Birthday, Christopher.
“Punk!”-Casey
26:15 Oh please, anyone who's watched Drag Race can **easily** picture Alaska Thunderfuck and Katya stealing a vehicle lmao
I think Alaska Thunderfuck is a weed strain
@@NMrecov yeah, I was aware lol. I think she got her name from the strain 🤘
Saw this movie 600 times on HBO back in the day. Dishes are done dude!
as one of the 14 people that watched the _Soul Man_ review, pleeeeeeease do _White Chicks_ with Manny and Casey. That would do massive Numbers, people love that movie
This is not home alone times 5.
There already is a remake of don't tell Mom, the babysitter's dead.
It's called shameless the TV show.
At least it mimics the characters
i remember Mr Hollands Opus being a preview on a vhs i had that I watched alot back in the day .... maybe The Mask I also never saw it tho but remember that trailer!
The original is my favorite teen comedy of all time.
Justine was Mallory Keaton on Family Ties
if people just explain that a fax machine is essentially scanning a document and emailing it but before you could do that. so the machine copied it and then sent it to a telephone number instead of an email address
10:05 William Castle's 'Mr. Sardonicus' is a classic horror movie. It's really great.
Sadly, Mr. Sardonicus never spent six or seven years at Sardonicus Medical School or ever earned a PhD in university to be worthy of the title of "Dr.". ;)
This movie came out before MTV’s Real World.
Just checking in I’m at work arm😂 I’ll be back in 10hr🎉🎉
some director will REMAKE the movies Breakin', "lady sings the Blues" " Car wash" "coming to America" "How Stella got her groove bacK" by WHITE SWAPPING characters
Danielle Harris Nuff Said
She was so spunky.
@wstine79 lol the way she says "Chop the lady's head off" I was like good lord lady 😂 in my best Joey C
I totally remember that movie being on HBO a lot too
We used to trade video tapes at school with decoy covers and call them spaghetti westerns. We thought we were slick 😎
I've been waiting for woods porn to come up again. I found it as a young boy in the woods NEXT TO MY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
can confirm woods corn do be existing
There was a movie from the early 90s where the kids lock all the parents in the basement I can never remember the name I rented it from blockbuster when I was younger we’ll see all rented it and it was strange
Are they also remaking Adventures in Babysitting as well??
Apparently they are. I know that Disney channel did a kid friendly version a few years back for some reason
Isn't there already a kinda spiritual remake with Jonah Hill called The Sitter?
the movie wasnt an HBO movie. it was in theaters back then. then it came out for VHS rentals and it was probably on HBO a few times but that was it. It wasnt an HBO movie
This movie was a staple, in my household growing up. I have seen it A LOT, and I swear there was a version where she actually says "Prick". Mandela Effect??
“Dishes are done, man…”
And so is the remake.
Also, I love Casey. She has such a wonderful personality. How did she become friends with a jackass like Tony lmao.
Leave it to Tony to mention Kimmy Robertson 🤣🤣
I don't remember this one at all.
Adventures in Babysitting on the other hand, I swear it was on TV every weekend for a period of time.
This and the Sandlot were "sick day" movies for me.
56:12 maybe for someone as famous and handsome as you Tony, some of us don't have that luck
We hired this from the video shop (not blockbuster or any other big name store it was just a local one) one weekend. Didnt particularly remember much about it except christina applegate being hot. Anyway by coincidence i happened to see it again recently and damn im still struggling to remember anything about it except christina applegate and the stoner brother that i completely forgot about last time.
No, 100% it's cause we all had our "Club houses" in the woods and played there often and one kid would always wanna be the cool dude so he'd find and steal dads playboys and stash em out there
The Remake was filmed in the house from the original.
Damn I almost forgot about that movie but I loved it as a kid. The German title "Fast Food Family" was even more misleading and weird by the way.
We all know tony is the type to spend all the petty cash
She was using the babysitter’s car but it was stolen by Liza Minelli. Then she used the mom’s car.
Stephen Herek also did the 1996 version of 101 Dalmatians. I like that one.
Fit and lovely beauty like Casey is what keeps me going to gym, unlike the very handsome and very succesful host of very famous Hack The Movies show, Tony!
Finally a great movie pick! 😂
So any of the other ones he's picked weren't great? Ok...
@@kdusel1991 yes...
@@kdusel1991we all have diff opinions I guess he likes diff movies 🤷
TONY!, Thinking about it, its more like the female version of waynes world...always loved this movie:)
18:00
Tony Revises his review for Dumb and Dumber To 😂😂
Oh nooo....
Ichthyologists is a fish scientist
Tony... Adventures in Babysitting is amazing. But hey, did not know there was a remake. Can't wait to not watch it.
I really don't understand why some people have to announce that they will not watch something. Personally, I saw it a while back, and I thought it was a decent take on the original film, at least for what it was. I could probably give it another watch.
I love this movie I always watch as I was a kid
Kenny DOES drop the F Bomb when he drops his pot plant off the window ledge.
To be fair who wouldn’t, I grew a pot plant and sold it to some dealer for cured pot and he actually dropped it out his 2nd story window too so reminds me of that
This was when we had to hide our weed like savages
Porn in the woods was a real thing.
Yes here in NY woods porn was a thing
I have never seen this one or seen any clips but I've definitely heard that name. Still, I'm always down for more HTM and Casey!
So am I! Casey's super super cute and she has a great dynamic with Tony!!
@@kdusel1991 Agreed!
I just met Keith Coogan recently.
Hollywood is creatively bankrupt and pathetic. I did like the original. I saw it as a kid with my mom and siblings. I wasn’t expecting anything. I was shocked my mother wanted to see it because she hated shows like married with children and Roseanne. We all liked it.
One of the pre-X-Files sleeve ball roles for DD. The other one that sticks out of my mind is “Beethoven.” Joanne Cassidy is fantastic and should be more respected.
More than weekend at Bernie’s or home alone I feel the biggest inspiration was working girl. And I feel this movie inspired many after it. Anyone else feel like Cameron’s Diaz had the career Applegate was meant to?
Casey is delightful. She seems like the kind of girl who would forgive her father.
Wow me too
Porn in the woods def was a real thing. There use to be a flash site that has a woods scenery and if you clicked on random spots a pic of a vintage porn would come up. Man i miss that site... And meatspin
The 1991 original's an entertaining watch despite having a deceptive title. Having seen the full trailer for the 2024 remake, definitely can't say it looks good. I'm intrigued, but can't say it looks good.
*
And yes, I did completely catch on to: "The dishes are done man!" Haha.
I thought Jonah Hill did the reboot of adventures in babysitting.
Oh crap, my whole life I know this came out AFTER Home Alone. I hated Home Alone, still do, but LOVED this film when it came out. I was full blown horny by age 4 so anything wirth Christina at the time was an instant must watch.
