I’d love to watch a S&R show! From the Rescued and Rescuer’s perspective. Like, not actively running from them, but getting into the most challenging spot! That would be awesome.

It’s simple, I see Survivorman I click.
I love the idea of having a show with search and rescue looking for you. The show would highlight the hard work that those heroes do to help people.
I'd also be super happy to just sit through a video of you going into depth about how you approached filming. I personally don't know much about filming but I think it's super interesting.
Proud of you for getting the scope done, brother! I'm a fair deal younger than you, but I've been battered all my life by bowel issues, specifically crohn's disease and colorectal cancer... long story short; the scopes are literally a piece of cake, the "hard" part is the drinking of the prep like you were preparing to do while filming this commentary. The scope itself you're out cold and don't remember a thing, wake up and ride home, then sleep easier with peace of mind that you don't have anything going on in there to worry about.
I would LOVE to see a search and rescue episode(s). Plus it would be great training for the crews. Thank you for another great episode of Directors Commentary

I’ve loved your stuff since I was a kid and I always loved how your goal was to teach people how to survive and show them the beauty and hard reality of being alone in the woods, not just trying to make good tv but making something that will stick with you forever

The main and only reason to watch is if Les discusses the Bigfoot caught in the episode.
It was a clump of leaves, unfortunately. But, Im 100% sure Sasquatch peoples exist and there are a vast amount all over the world. There are a lot of other beings too, and of course like everything else we have been lied to by the government.

That point at 35:35 mark after he just bout walked off a cliff while talking to his camera.Its no wonder mate he didn't see hear or smell the 8 Sas people sitting 4-7' from him.Hell if id had same happen to me I wouldn't seen nothing at all.He could say me lap and sang a tune and I wouldn't seen it heard him.Les almost had a traumatic injury and possibly death.Ya I'm grateful that Les is alive and well he's got lots work to do and a willing audience ready for more brilliant programs.Cheers mate Aloha🖤🧡🎶💯❤️🔥🙏🏽🌻

When I was about 10 my dad bought some land very rugged. I went out hiking and got lost. It was terrifying. East West etc meant nothing. As the sun started to set I finally made my way home.

Same. I got lost n managed to find my way back as the sun set. Dad was back at the cabin and I thought I fooled him that I didn't get lost, but he knew I was lost till I found a way back... miss you dad

@@chubbycatfish4573 That's a bummer. He lost so much cred with that bigfoot stuff, I was hoping he was moving on. There's a reason no bones or evidence that doesn't come back from DNA testing as human or bear has ever, EVER been found.
I think one was around him once or twice in the background. One night, he was exceptionally far, and he was freaking out all night. Something breaking trees and really messing with him kind of stuff.
@PrepperNation_H im gonna go ahead and say it. I dont care you broke your elbow or whatever. I mean, it's really more stuff science isnt good at detecting yet. Like supernatural stuff.
I’ve always enjoyed when you had a rescue team find you to give them a practice run and to show how it works.

Just watched the hunting temagami with Bushman Bob episode and I loved it definitely one of my favorites that would be the most likely situation I'd find myself in, love the whole SAR perspective while they were hunting you and Bob down, I fell back in love with survivorman, so of course I had to watch the most recent directors commentary

Thanks for sharing Les Stroud. Maybe most of us - hope it never comes to that tbh - will have some chance to survive and live in the wilderness if ever the world will fall to such a state that we might have to. And some might survive thanks to people like you, and perhaps even thrive.

Excellent as always, Les! I have watched every episode of Survivorman at least 30 times or more and it is more exciting to watch the commentary versions as you learn so much about what was actually going on with each episode.

Raw form of the early ones, awesome. The more polished ones, also awesome. But I got a laugh at the close of this one- it's machismo that says "get skills, carry tools", as these are things men do. It's a philosophical difference, I guess.

You don't sound egotistical lauding your own show. Not when it's as well produced, both artistically and technically, as Survivorman was. To the contrary, you sound honest and correct.
Les, I wish there was a way to be able to get your survival kit. I know they aren't for sale anymore, but I didn't know they were a thing until it was way too late. I have searched the internet over and over trying to find one with no luck. Looks like an awesome survival kit.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I absolutely love the music,style, format and even the clothes of seasons 1-3, it just had a certain charm (not to say the charm still isn't there). I love all survivorman but the first 3 seasons I fell in love with, but it may be nostalgia factor

I think when people get lost in the mountains, and they’re trying to get down to a rive they can hear running. And coming onto a cliff that you know you can’t scale. and you’re body telling you it’s time stop, and you know that’s not a option, just a grim grim situation that could and it all??
I never go out on a trip with just one map. It it's a multi-day trip across (or round) longer distance, I bring the official map and at least one copy I've took of it. Usually two copies. Keep the copy in a ziplock bag and the real map in my backbag. For shorter "oh I want to check that out" I take a printout (or several, of the whole area and then some close-ups) as well as having it downloaded as image on the cell phone.
I love your shows, and there are a lot of new "survivormen/women" on youtube, but most are not so engaging as the original. That said - who do you recommend?
you could always produce on your own on youtube. ❤ have you considered doing hikes where others have needed rescue? for instance we have had several instances where groups have tried crossing the Harding Icefield near Seward Alaska and needed rescue. Military and recently a private group had to be rescued.

if you had a cooking vessel and a source of water, to make that jerky go even farther is to take 1 piece and shred it or chop it up into little pieces and boil it up with the water. that not only purifies your water, it gives you a much more filling warm broth and eks out your food a bit more.
