  • Today I go over some of the biggest showpieces in my vintage Barbie collection. This includes boxed mod-era Barbie, Ken and friends, a beautiful Black Francie and more. We’ll take a look at the original packaging and artwork up close and discuss how and where to find such pieces. #barbie #toycollection #toycommunity #toycollector #vintagetoys #barbiecollection #barbiedolls #ken

I went to estate sales for many years as a modern furniture collector and dealer i was always emotionally conflicted when collectors would be pushing and shoving in a person's home.......i loved seeing how artistic someone was and often imagined meeting them in real life i always tried to assure the family the thing I bought was going to someone who "gets it"

Your passion for your collection is infectious, and I find your videos very entertaining.

I'm an in-box and a loose doll collector. I love the whole experience of the doll, and especially in Barbies case, the box-packaging is at least 25% of the over all passion for collecting these dolls. The art work (which I adore) or photography is exciting and vibrant!

Christie really does rule. The more I see of her on your channel, the more I stan. Consider your work done ❤

In and out of box guy here. Some just need to breath.

  • @autumnapollonia

I love your collection and absolutely love your admiration for Christie. It’s so awesome to see you deeply respect the representation & history of the original Black Barbie. 💕🖤💕

Your #3 Barbie looks so much like the (I think) #5 Barbie I got for my 9th birthday in '61, so I always love seeing her! My Barbie's lipstick started wearing off pretty quickly and my genius solution was to color her lips with ink from a red ballpoint pen... that ink then ended up migrating over her lower face so my poor doll was even worse off than she was before. (I ended up getting another Barbie, a blonde bubble cut, whose lipstick also wore off a bit, but I had learned my lesson!) Anyway, I really wanted to comment on what you said about the fate of doll collections after the owner is gone. That's something I've never heard discussed on any of the doll channel videos I watch, but it's something I always think about, and I think it's an important issue. I started collecting (new) Barbies in the early '90's and had quite a few of them, ranging from a few pricey ones to a lot of grocery store "specials." (Some of my Barbies I removed from their boxes to display, some I left in their boxes.) Years later, it just about killed me to do this, but I gave them all away, either to friends who had young granddaughters, or to charity. I didn't want whoever survived me and ended up having to deal with my stuff to not know what to do with my dolls after I kicked the bucket. I figured if I did it myself, my dolls had a chance of going to good homes while I could still see to it. Or if they didn't, at least I tried! I still miss my dolls, but if there's thing I know, it's that you can't take them with you. But at least I can enjoy your and other doll channel videos, and I appreciate that so much!

Both in and out of box, but I don't have any valuable Barbies in except The Bob Mackie Jewel Collection from the 90s. Me and my mom collected Barbies in the 90s she did contemporary stuff but we went to doll shows and I fell in love with vintage Barbie. So I gradually started buying the vintage things I liked and could afford. My mother passed in 2021, I have her collection and mine now. Too many dolls I will have to start itemizing them and selling off some. Love your videos! Thank you.

I love my TNTs mint in box, they really are a part of history. Great video as usual!!

  • @emmaphilo4049

I am primarely an out of box collector but I like to have them in box too to keep them new and to enjoy the beautiful packaging which often has great art and nostalgia attached to it :)

  • @Spidrick

Thank you for sharing your joy and exuberance over your collection. Whether you are in box or out of box, you do you!

The Barbie market is so varied - it always comes down to what someone is willing to pay. Those Malibu Barbies - they seem to be the cheapest vintage dolls I see on Mercari. I always love hearing the "why" a certain doll is sought after - first of a kind, controversial, new feature, etc.

  • @andremedeiros2181

    They're all so beautiful!

  • @LisaLisa-xj1hs

I have Malibu Barbie , it was my childhood toy . She was well loved & played with , and she's still beautiful ! I love her 🩷😊 It would be cool to get an inbox one , maybe someday . 😌

  • @dwilloughby13

Love your dolls! I've seen pictures of a proto black Skipper who resides in Becky Land she was adorable, too bad that idea didn't come to fruition, I saw the picture in one of my Barbie collector books,

One of my new favourite channels

  • @trishalou592

As I said before, fabulous collection. I prefer them out of the box. I can dress them in different outfits and pose them. I don't mind that they have been played with, that's what they were for. Also being older, I am going to take pics of the dolls and outfits and give a description. I told my boys that they have to be sold on eBay and how to do it. They thought it was a good idea.

  • @raquelporter2588

    Love your channel.💕

  • @WeAreCaylee

I feel the same way about packaging. At the same time I also want to enjoy the items. But I collect vintage baby things for my dolls so it's a bit different.
