Fantastic video! I love Ken dolls, I don't see how anyone just collects the girls. Ken's looks from the 60s-70s are so cool. But I do have to say, the cowboy outfits from the 80s and 90s are pretty awesome, too! Personally, Allan is my favorite male doll Mattel has ever made, he's just so cute. Oh wow last year when my daughter and I were at a yard sale we got some outfits and a Barbie doll wearing Club Dance Ken outfit minus jacket for free along with a Fashionista Barbie African American in a blue flower dress in original box
What a fun video! I really enjoyed being reminded of how my long gone 1961 brunette Ken once looked (mine started to go bald pretty fast). His replacement, the plastic blond crew cut Ken, was equally dorky to me. Ken's main purpose was to drive Barbie around in her first roadster. Anyway, I enjoyed seeing the outfits too - I don't think my twin sister and I had any of the outfits you showed this time. I just had a flashback to Ken's brown and white striped PJ's that came with a little wax cinnamon roll. I thought it was so unfair that Barbie's little yellow babydoll PJ's outfit came with a crummy apple but Ken got a yummy sweet roll. That's where my head was at when I was 9 or 10. Anyway, thanks for another great video and if I ever got another Ken doll, it would be that rocker one with the long blond hair, LOL!

That original tuxedo is so beautifully tailored. My personal favourite, however, and I would wear myself, is Animal Loving Ken's outfit. So cute and co-ordinated. Great video as usual

I have a number of Kens including my second favourite - Good Looking Talking Ken (aka ‘mute’ Ken) and both the outfits Suede Scene and Live Action Ken’s fringed outfit, several Superstar face moulds in every hair colour - including a few blondes (aka Robert Redford) and a Caucasian Day to Night, Animal Lovin’ Ken MIB, and Western Fun Ken MIB aka ‘Midnight Cowboy’. My all-time fave Ken is 1999 Shave’n Style Ken that came with an extra outfit - he is the coolest and best looking imo and the reason I have multiples of him - 1 MIB and 2 to re-dress! Thoroughly enjoyed your retrospective!

I used to pretend Superstar Ken's disco jumpsuit was a sci-fi pilot flight suit. :) (like in Battlestar Galactica 1978) I was fortunate enough to get a flocked brunette Ken recently with just a slight flaw to the flocking. He came dressed in the tux, yay! I also have the 2nd Ken, the blond, because he's like the Ken my sister had, except this one has both thumbs. Honestly? Ken fashions can be so hard to get on, I now understand how that happened to my sister's Ken, lol. Malibu Ken was the one I played with, growing up. I have him again, dressed in Midnight Blues. I put the Mod Hair Ken I've collected into Guruvy Formal, another awesome outfit. I have Alan and Brad, too. And, I have Earring Magic Ken (in box). Which Ken was the very first issued as African American?

I had a Mod Hair Ken and I think it came out in 1972 or 1973. I was wild about that doll and I had to keep it hidden in a closet in the basement so no one would find out along with other dolls I had stashed there. One day all of them were gone without me knowing it. I couldn't say anything because it was my secret stash and it had to be either my mother or father who found them and threw them away. Such a cruel thing to do to a child.
Western Ken was the first Ken I ever got. I thought he was so handsome and of course so did Golden Dream, Pink and Pretty, Beauty Secrets and Angel Face Barbie ha ha

I have a question about Kens', are all the shoes the same size from the 60s to present? I am thinking of participating in an auction for 2 Ken's from the 60s but they don't have shoes. I have shoes for 80s and 90s Ken's.
I believe they’re all the same size! Some of the earlier ones seemed to be made for wearing thicker socks with a particular outfit but generally I think they should all work for you.
I want to get that Ken with the green hair and makeup. But i don't like his outfit. I woukd have to buy him another outfit since i don't have any extra outfits for him.
