0:31 I found him as my first villager to move in. I didn't know he was so rare.
During my hunt for Wolfgang, I ended up getting all three octopus villagers, Octavian was literally right after I got Zucker and Marina was one of the first three that you’re tasked with making furniture for.
WOW You got extremely luck then! I've never seen anyone get all three of the same villager species type that quickly! Usually the game tries to keep that from happening!

I found Marshal this morning. At 2 AM. After villager hunting for like 9 hours. It took 211 Nook Mile Tickets.

Statistically you should see cat villagers often! But Raymond is one of the harder ones to get cause of how the game works. But maybe Raymond could be the first cat villager you find!!

I have Diana, Erik, Judy, and Raymond and my goal wasn’t even finding them. I just happened to find them either in my campsite or on a nook miles island. I do really like them though, but my top dreamies are Merry and Willow!
Merry and Willow are good choices to have for your dreamies! I so far like Audie and Beau as my favorites but there are a bunch more that I like. I might try to get some different ones in there to see what their personalities are like!

I thought the same thing but based on how the math plays out it can make some species easier to get and make some specific villagers harder to get! Check out the calculator that is in the description.... kinda interesting!

What does it mean by complete species/2 complete species on the calculator?
It’s asking if you have all of one species such as all three from the octopus group. Does that answer your question?

Marina is rare? I knew NOTHING of this game when I started playing it about a week ago, New Horizons was my introduction to the series, and I did no prior research. I found Marina on a random island and by chance; decided to invite her over, she moved in yesterday. I almost didn't even talk to her because I was busy mining for stuff to even concern myself with new villagers. I had no idea there were SO many variables of villagers and the Octopi are the rarest ones. To think I almost missed my chance at getting her! I think I need to start playing this game more deliberately.

Actually there is no rare villagers but there is a chance of a villager species. Like the octopus will be easy to find cuz there is only 3 of them. The cats are harder to get because there is 23 cat villagers

You don't need to get Nintendo Online to go to the mystery islands! You would only need it if you were travelling to someone else's island :)

YOU GOT IT! I think people say "Rare" but mean "popular" LOL - but if you check out that calculator you can see how difficult it can be to get some of the villagers! So, they can sorta be rare, right?

Okay so I used the calculator if you REALLY are desperate for getting a popular villager you need use more than 200 nmts to find them. If you use only 10 or less its a 1.24% change so that can be really hard. The chances do increase the more NMTS you use and if you have like the same species you have on your island it does increase. A lot of times it’s easier to get fruit from other players! You will waste nookmiles searching for them! Oh man you have beau and Whitney. Those are two of my top favorites! @@1upPHIL Hate to tell you this, But, I got all my villagers by hunting them with Nook Miles Tickets... & I haven't used as many as most players have. Only around 100 or so, If that many.
