When comparing DPA data with other creatives, I'm interested in how much the remarketing factor skews the results. In client accounts, I see that DPA is more frequently used for remarketing. DPAs often have limited budgets, so they naturally behave more like remarketing when optimized for purchases. On the other hand, there are other creatives aimed at acquiring new customers, into which a lot of budget is poured, so they do not have as much remarketing share as DPA does.
I am from Central Europe and everyone is using primarily DPA. The trend with UGC videos is only slowly getting here. The average Meta Ads media buyer is basically a PRO in preparing the feeds, setting up conversion tracking in GTM etc. Completely different approach than one in the US. I was always wondering why, but probably the main reason are the ads spends and economy. We have to be magicians to deliver results with crazy ROAS and a minimum budget (1k/pm) in the first month or two. And we do. Dan with his origins is certainly this type of marketer :)
Dan here - appreciate you Adrian! The Central European know how to grind it out for sure, you guys tend to know how to do the most with the least, so it's not surprise that you lean on DPA.
Hi Adrian, are you a media buyer? We’re looking to hire someone to set this up for our 7 figure brand. Would you be interested or do you know anyone interested?
You are mentioning so many brands during the conversation that use the tactics discussed. Would it be possible to outline them so we can understand how those tactics look in real life? That would be so helpful, thank you!
We have a bunch of case studies on our site that walk through very specific examples, include the winning designs and the performance metrics - maybe those would be helpful?
Lol'ed at the "Pinterest has the award for my least favorite ad platform...and the act-alikes..." Yep. Same. I've struggled with their UI for so long. I didn't know about buying Pinterest Ads through Google, that's cool.
Dara what objective would you use for calendly booking appointments through Meta ads? Lead Objective or Purchase Conversion? I heard if you select purchase conversion it would get better quality traffic? Thanks
So pumped I found this! I am a store with multiple products (around 3000 products) of different categories and brands. Would you recommend having multiple ads under one campaign that have product sets (organized by category for each ad set) and running CBO with only a $300 budget per day allowing each product set to compete for spend, or would you just have one giant catalog?
Thank you for sharing and creating this valuable information for us. I am a full-time digital marketing executive in an advertising agency. I completely agree that the amount of exposure I get every day is invaluable. Working with different clients in different industries and with different requirements allows me to learn something new every day, which is something I love about my job. Although I know all the theory behind Google Ads, I haven't had any hands-on experience with it yet. Can you please recommend some good CZcams channels where I can learn Google Ads from beginner to advanced level? I would also like your advice on whether I should pursue a CDMP certification from a digital marketing institute based in Ireland. Thank you for your help. I look forward to hearing back from you. thanks😊
If my first product image on my Shopify store is a ‘product on white background’ image and my second image is a lifestyle image, is there a simple way my Meta Catalogue Ad be altered to pull the second image and not show the first?
Thank you so much for sharing Dara, just a few questions though: 1. Considering the high price point / entry point for marpipe - and if we have a lower amount of SKUs would it be possible to work on templates in Canva and then upload them as supplemental feeds as discussed in the video? Could you please guide in regards to that? 2. For targeting using DPA - would you recommend going all broad instead of retargeting (using a different product set) and for retargeting we use a different product set or probably the same product set but with a different creative version (I hope that made sense) Really looking forward to hearing your valuable feedback. Thank you once again!
Great video. My husband and I just started our company in January and are just starting to advertise on Facebook. My questions are how much should we spend on Facebook. Is there a minimum that will result in credible data? We are so new to everything that Im sure our ads will not generate many leads at this point
What would be the correct course of action when you have a catalog with tens or hundreds of SKUs and 1, 2 products take almost all the spend. The problem here would be that they take all the spend but they do not get purchased. Overall the performance of the catalog ads are good because people click on them and end up purchasing something else, but I feel like the performance could be way better. Thanks!
Do you guys have to commit sale KPI for client such as sales revenue or Roas? And if you commit those KPIs, how do you charge the client? Can you share it? Thanks!
free next day delivery is a value prop not a design treatment. He tricked you! also mattresses may be more expensive than other categories so higher ROAS.

Such an in your face UTM. Come on Dara, hide it under a bitly at least :P

Have you tried setting the retargeting to 0% and going full DABA (Dyanmic Ads Broad Audience)? There's a lot of folks using DPA for pure prospecting.
DPA's are elite for prospecting. Most people just don't know how to run them effectively. Hint: less is more.
Oh and please, repeat this zoom in format on very specific topics 🙏🙏 Love it
Glad you enjoyed it!
One Meta feature update in Ads manager and this guy will go bankrupt.
This is epic! Thanks for making this, Dara.
Focusing on DPAs a lot recently, this was much needed

Dara, thank you. Loving your content. Be sure to update your affiliate links as most are not working. You deserve the referral rewards.
We love to see it!! Thanks for peeling back the curtain on DPA with us Dara!
The best in the DPA game 😎
Wish that you have an option for lower spending brands…

Thanks I have never seen success with catalog ads, time to refocus and see what we can make happen.
A lot of catalog ads are used for dynamic retargeting as well
Love ittttt. I think you talked about this in a short but would you run DPA in its own ASC campaign?
Yes, that is what Dara recommends. Otherwise DPA takes the bulk of the spend in the Adv+ campaign.
I also saw that short - I am also curious about this :)
Yes! ASC
This was great! Super insightful. Started following both of you on X.
Glad you loved it!
I got neither right and I'm a genius. Don't feel bad Dara.
Got both right! I got that eye 😤

Love that you loved it! Thanks for the feedback. -Dan

So baically if you're a small business with only 20 skus, don't bother with catalog ads?
They would be less likely to work in this scenario.

I don't know any good Google Ads channels actually! And I'm not sure about the certification; I don't know them.

great question

1 - Yes, this manual route is possible and could be feasible if you have a very small feed.
2 - I would test both of these for sure.
Great video Dara!!
Great info, thanks!

Great content!
Would you recommend running DPA into ASC or a campaign on it's own?
ASC!
48:00 sale overlays always wins!!
Anyone out there figure out ways around getting your subscription products on catalouge?
DPA works for me everytime.
Salute!
The way he said ROAS 😅
Oops!!
Hi, whats the difference between a catalog ad which you set at the campaign level and the catalog ad that you set in the ad level? Thanks
someone can tell who to follow that shares Catalog strategy? Dan Pantelo only sells Marpipe, not courses and content...
very good interview, i love it

Make a separate product set with those products removed and see if performance improves!

Does this work for digital products? I have a Meta catalog but never ran catalog ads
It's marpipe suitable for carousel ads too?
Thanks!
What app he's referring to at 28:00?
Who the marketing guy from Nood brand?

I love your videos dara
Thank you!!
Google ads guys with a giga chad feed on Google Merchant Center since 2010 be like: ** Disappointed Indian guy meme **
Hahahahaha - did you try paid social with it? Assuming that didn't work for you?
Thank you Dara!
Interesting....
Great vid! Does the catalog delivery apply to Collection format also?
I think it's slightly different actually! I'll have to ask my friends at Meta for a clear answer.
He's way over hyping catalog ads and their delivery system although its not very different from standard AI meta uses for all their ads.
free next day delivery is a value prop not a design treatment. He tricked you! also mattresses may be more expensive than other categories so higher ROAS.
Great points! FWIW I take these challenges with a massive grain of salt since there are a million nuances with tracking, performance, KPIs, etc.
Thank you🔥
The R.O.A.S 😂… just say “ROAS”
Hehehehe oooooops!!!
