Thanks for your Review of this! I like how you Simplify the operation. Most review videos show how Complex one can get with this. However - If one is New to playing Synths, it can be very Discouraging. I'd rather see, Turn it on, Press Perform, Find a Sample you like & start Exploring the sound! -- Once one gets more familiar, then dig into the Complex Capabilities of the machine. Thanks!

You set yourself a challenge with this one Jeremy - so much to cover in just under 17 minutes. Ideally, it needed a much longer 'review' but I realise that's undesirable for your capture audience. To a viewer new to synth-type instruments, I think many would be totally confused and bewildered (I have some experience with synths, but not extensive). However what you will have achieved is a sense of excitement, something demanding to be explored. The 'real instruments' all sounded good (particularly the piano) making a good starting point for the newcomer. For me, I had decided that I would be buying no more keyboards, but from this video I've already ordered one! I don't need it, I have no particular application for it and I can't really afford it, but it absolutely demands to be explored. Damn you Jeremy, you have just cost me $1200 Australian dollars!!!

    • @JeremySee

Thank you for your kind words, Bryan. The Wavestate is truly a very very deep beast that takes the Wave Sequencing found in extremely expensive Oasys & Kronos and take it many levels higher to 2.0
If you have the opportunity, do let Korg know that my videos do help you. 🤝
      Take care, my friend.

Hi, see you have a lot of great info on this awesome synth, which i've just picked up... this may seem a odd question, but if i'm in a certain mode, how can i escape/leave to get back to selecting the different voices via value key, and how/where can i adjust the tempo in order to select the desired bpm's.. like i tap the tempo button, but the screen doesnt show the bpm's? anyway, maybe you can steer us in the right direction, thanks

Fantastic review Jeremy i loved the richness of sound this produces combined with your playing skill - inspirational would be the word ! I'm researching my first electronic music instrument as a home hobbyist and had morphed toward a groovebox for simplicity - the Roland MC 707 or smaller MC101 but i chanced upon the Korg and it's a bit of a magnet TBH. Larger than the grooveboxes but creative potential looks tremendous.I need to venture in to tuition for keyboard playing,i think, but this does feel like something that has ticked all my boxes Jeremy. What would be your thoughts on suitability of this for a beginner please ?

Back in the day I had a Korg M1(still have it somewhere in the attic...). It's been a few decades since I touched a keyboard. Is this too complicated for me, do you think? Thank you for a very informative clip!

    • @roggyo

Jeremy I don’t like Woody’s reviews neither! I asked him to compare Yamaha MODX and Yamaha PSR SX900 sounds, because both keyboards he has got for free from Yamaha, but HE DIDN’T DO IT although I was VERY INTERESTED IN BOTH OF THEM!!! He said me they are completely different instruments and that’s why there’s no point to compare their sounds. Thanks to Woody I almost didn’t buy Yamaha MODX. I bought it one year later (this year few months ago) thanks to other reviews, but if Woody would compare me sounds from both keyboards I would buy both keyboards one year ago together PSR SX900 and MODX6. Like this one year ago I bought only PSR SX900 not thanks to Woody but thanks to others reviews and THANKS TO YOU AS WELL, because you did good review about PSR SX700!!! Yamaha MODX I bought few months ago.
Because this video is about Korg Wavestate, thanks to some other reviews and again thanks to you I just bought Korg Wavestate as well (one week ago)!!! I’m a guy who mostly played arranger keyboards, so MODX is my first workstation keyboard and Korg Wavestate is my first synthesizer. I like your reviews and videos and what is most important I like your EXPLANATIONS!!! You are the only guy who showed Cashmere patch performance on Korg Wavestate in this video at 12:08 and it influenced on me to like Korg Wavestate even more. BTW Korg Wavestate is my first Korg Keyboard, I’m more Yamaha guy. If you allow me, here you can see how I’m playing on Korg Wavestate variations on song Kashmir from Led Zeppelin using Cashmere patch that you showed in this video on 12:08 :
      m.czcams.com/video/BU1aF_-cz88/video.html
I play it similar as if I would play arranger keyboard. Korg Wavestate has really good sound!
And here I l’m playing on Yamaha MODX6 Nothing else matters from Metallica and thanks to sounds in background and expression pedal I play it like a piano player although I’m not a piano player, as I said I mostly played arranger keyboards:
      m.czcams.com/video/uuOLMsPAHjI/video.html
I don’t know why they don’t send you keyboards to review them and show to ppl! Woody’s videos are almost boring comparing to yours! You make short video clips with good reviews and explanations with ESSENTIAL informations! Woody is just speaking BTW and playing. I simply can’t forget and believe that he didn’t want to compare for me Yamaha MODX and Yamaha PSR SX900 and both keyboards Yamaha sent him to promote them. I was not asking him because of curiosity but as regular Yamaha costumer who wanted to buy those keyboards (and I bought them both but not thanks to Woody) and I don’t buy only Yamaha’s keyboards but other Yamaha products as well, for example I just bought new Yamaha monitors HS7 matched pair limited edition etc. So I appeal to Yamaha, Korg and Roland to sand you their keyboards, because your reviews had more influence on me to buy them than Woody’s video clips and I’m gonna right it to Yamaha and Korg!

    • @JeremySee
      @JeremySee  Před 3 lety +1

Wow! You played the preset patch really well. 😍 I guess because Yamaha sponsors Woody so he prefers not to make comparisons in case he offends Yamaha. I bought my own PSR-SX900 with my own money so I don't have to worry about offending Yamaha. Yamaha sends me nothing anyway. 😂 Not even a cheap $69 PSS-E30 keyboard.

Using a synthesizer is much more gratifying than clicking a mouse. I love Kontakt and Omnisphere. I use them often. But having an instrument like this is so much more fun and intuitive. I personally own about 20 different hardware synths. I love turning them on and playing around to make sounds. I find it more inspirational. Plus, an instrument like this always has resale value, unlike software.
