  • Check out Milwaukee M12 Compact Inflator Kit 2475-21XC the on Amazon: amzn.to/2rlsVST
The New Milwaukee M12 Compact Inflator has some very cool features that will make this inflator very popular with many people. First, it will hit the DIY crowd as they do not need an air compressor or tire gauge to pump up their car or truck tires. One can simply connect the Milwaukee Inflator, it will tell you the PSI of the tire, you can then set the desired PSI and it will pump your tire up to the target set and turn itself off. We check the accuracy of the inflator and it was almost spot on under 40 PSI and would drift one or two PSI when you got close to 80 PSI.
Even if you have a large air compressor and a shop, this small inflator allows you to adjust the PSI of your tires up without much effort. This feature will make it useful to a professional crowd as they can set this up and continue to make money working on something else. You will not see these in every shop, but there will be many who will get a taste of this and like it.
If you are a traveler, this is perfect. As a Ford Superduty owner, we have had the low tire pressure light come on and not be able to tell what tire is low or the tire pressures. At the time this happened we did not know if we were going to have a flat tire soon or if we were just one PSI under the set number to pop the light on. This happened to us in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan at night so even if there was a place to stop, no one would have been open. This compact inflator would have given us the peace of mind to find the low tire and pump it up.
    Set includes
    (1) Ball Inflation Needle
    (1) Presta Chuck
    (1) Schrader Chuck
    (1) Inflator Nozzle
    2475-20 Features
    Top-off a car tire in under 1 minute. (28 - 35 PSI)
Inflates car, LT truck, and compact equipment tires.
TrueFill Auto Shut-off technology increases accuracy, protects from over-temp and over-fill.
High-efficiency pump and motor for 120 PSI capability.
Illuminated digital gauge with target and current pressure reading.
Fills a LT truck tire in under 4 minutes (30-45 psi).
Compact, portable, and easy-to-store in any car or truck.
Weather and impact resistant with a reinforced cage.
Anti-vibration feet for no tool movement while running.
    3-year limited warranty.
    Allow to Cool!!!
PLEASE, read the manual on this unit before you use it. You MUST NOT use this inflator for more than 10 minutes constantly due to heat buildup. After 10 minutes of use, it must have 10 minutes of rest. This is not a set it and forget it unit for large jobs. We proved that with our thermal imager in our CZcams video. If you plan to use this for more than what it is designed, like we did, allowing the unit to cool properly will help prevent the tool from overheating and doing damage to itself.
This is a great tool that many will really enjoy. It removes the need for a small air compressor at home!

Great tutorial. I received my inflator today and let me tell you that this is a working machine! No time getting 8 tires to its desired psi. I'm impressed. No more waiting in line for air at a gas station when I can do this in a short amount of time right from the comfort of my home garage. It's a great value buying the kit.

I have the Ryobi 18v+1 and it is the best thing I ever bought as far as cordless inflators. What I also like is the fact that the tool is switchable and has a easy use for inflatables like kiddie pools and pool toys . When done the house can be reversed and makes easy work of deflation. All this for under $40 tool only..

I bought this tool.... Absolutely fantastic, I have a 3500 Chevy Diesel my tires are rated for 80psi and my Engine weighs more that 600lbs (not including the transmission) on the front axle. I also have a F350 Dually similar story... The trucks are GVWR 9,200lbs and 11,000lbs respectively, now I have not tested this thing with the trucks full of weight but even on the 1.5ah batteries it will work fine... But definitely set your phone for the 10 min mark... The 4.0ah battery will do Two a a half tires from around 50-60psi to a proper 75-80psi, the 1.5ah will do one tire maby 1 and a little bit more. But yes it gets hot. So set your phone/watch and use this for touch ups and if you are doing work on your ride like oil changes and other maintenance..... The 10 min on and 10 min off is not a big issue if your doing something else right at the truck.

Definitely takes quite a while getting tires up to 80psi. Mines got an auto shut off when it gets too hot. If it gets to that point it takes 30 minutes to cool down. Won’t make that mistake again

I am a milwaukee user and fan and have over 50 m12 and m18 tools. However before this came out I bought the ryobi inflator/deflator. The ryobi has the hose wrap up and has onboard tools and uses 18v which is better for runtime. Also the ryobi will also do low pressure (air mattresses etc) inflation as well as deflation. This flexibility covers many more uses. I use the ryobi with my m18 batteries with an adapter that uses a gutted ryobi battery and m18 socket/dock. The ryobi can set the target psi also and stops .5 /1 psi higher which is nice because you loose a little when disconnecting. This milwaukee only does tires and not low pressure like the ryobi. The ryobi is only around 60 dollars bare tool. With batteries I do not feel the need to have ac or 12 lighter socket use at all anymore. I also use the same adapter with a ryboi hot glue gun and 1/4 sheet sander which milwaukee also does not have. (although at nps18 they revealed a round orbital m18 sander for later this year, but I think 1/4 sheet is better for dealing with sandpaper replenishment)

First, I'd like to comment on the Blue Point pressure gauge. You spoke as if it was the standard. However, digital pressure gauges are inherently inaccurate. It was a great tool for comparison, but I didn't value it's accuracy. Unless, of course, you had it independently tested. Perhaps the Milwaukee tool was less or more accurate than you suggested. Albeit, you seemed to suggest it was plenty accurate.
Also, I'd like to comment on my perception of how this tool can be best used. Currently, I live in a suburban neighborhood and have three cars, and a boat. I have a two stage, 25 gallon air compressor with two 25 foot hoses. Also, I have a 7 gallon portable air tank.
Topping off the tires on all of my cars can be tedious. The fifty feet of air hose will only fill the tires of the two cars in the driveway. Sometimes, it gets caught under the tires. Also, it takes a few minutes to put away. Usually, I just use the portable air tank, but that takes a long time to fill. It always sets the air compressor off and I have to sit there filling, holding the hose next to the loud compressor. One fill will top off two of my truck's large off-road tires.
I can't believe how easily this unit appears to operate. I think this will be a time saver, because I imagine I'll be able to hook it up, set the desired pressure, perform other small tasks in the area and return to switch tires when I hear it quit.
I already have another M12 tool and battery. Also, I see it's for sale on Home Depot's website this week for $69. Knock another 10% off with the military discount and I should have one by next pay day!

Damn “I” is next to the “O”. Should have typed “hot.” Didn’t think it would take 13 minutes to add 30PSI. Thermal shut down didn’t engage. This was my first time using it. I was outdoors, on asphalt, outside temperature was in the low to mid 80’s. Don’t know if that affected it. I’ll try using it again tomorrow. I'm impressed how quickly it filled the keep tire given its size. These little compressors are great for smaller volume items like bike tires, lawn equipment, maybe a tire on a jet ski trailer. It's just easier than dragging out the extre long hose and untangling it or getting out the portable air tank. Large volume stuff like pool floats are better suited to a blower type inflator with high volume and less pressure.

It would be cool to see a heavier duty/usage compressor on the M18 platform, whether it would be something that could take over for a standard compressor is unlikely, I doubt one would be running a paintgun off an electric. Depends I suppose. But this one is clearly meant for the smaller usages, maybe toss in your Jeep to go wheeling and air up when hitting the highway again. Small footprint is good for that.
I'm personally invested fully in BOTH the M12 and M18 lines, too many great tools in each and I simply can't go all-in on one or the other. It's all red, and that's all that matters (I refuse to run multiple platforms, wanted all one platform and Milwaukee M12 and M18 are very closely tied together in the form of chargers. Love my Milwaukee stuff.

MoparProud The longer we have this unit the more we love it. Checking psi on trailers and side by side is easy and fast. We throw it in the side by sides for the trail just in case. Yeah, it has a 10 minute run limit, but it is really meant to just pump up tires a few PSI, not fully inflate them. But it can fully inflate tires if you need it. Awesome tool. I too hope they come out with a larger M18 model that is the size of a radio with a longer cord and so.e storage, but we would still want the small one to travel with.

That said, it is quite sick for a 12V tool to perform this well. I would buy an M18 model in a heartbeat if they guaranteed 9 bar or more!

Purchased this for my small engine repair side hustle. Its okay for the 5-20 psi tires I need to fill, however when I tried it on my motorcycle tires, its WAY off. Set it to 40psi, and it consistently stopped at 42.5. Then I tried setting it to 39psi thinking it might stop closer to 40. nope, stopped at 42psi. Its nice that it stops over the desired PSI allowing you to bleed it down, but now you need to keep your own gauge around to double check it. Basically you cannot trust it. It also took what I thought was forever to bring the front tire from 38psi to 42.5psi. Its a super light duty tool that I regret purchasing. Milwaukee can do better than this.

Great idea... BUT... why oh why didn't they have it use M18 batteries? Then you could just grab the battery from one of your tools and go. With the limited duty cycle combined with the battery choice and screw-style valve stem attachment I'm going to skip this one.

I read this critique a number of times, but don’t understand it. Anyone who is invested in the M18 system is very likely invested in the M12 system. Hell, the M18 kit chargers can charge M12 batteries, so I don’t see the issue.

    • @eosjoe565
      @eosjoe565 Před 6 lety +1

True, they have a charger that can charge both but the M18 and M12 batteries don't interchange so why would someone have both? I have several M18 tools but I don't have any M12 tools and quite frankly don't see myself buying any. I was thinking selfishly I guess when I said I wish this tool worked on M18. But after seeing the duty cycle limitations and the screw-on valve stem connector I'd probably just buy a Ryobi battery powered air compressor. I mean, this thing is $80 for the bare tool and another $80 for the 4.0AH battery. Don't get me wrong, I love Milwaukee stuff but this tool is a miss.

Hi, great review. I am looking for something compact like this for my bike shop to seat tubeless mountain bike tires. This requires a fairly high volume of air and usually, shops use a standard air compressor. Do you have any thoughts about the volume of air this produces and do you think it is capable for this application?

    • @WorkshopAddict
      @WorkshopAddict  Před rokem

Inflators are not high volume machines at all. There is no way this would be able to push a tire around to make it seat with high volume and low psi. This would work once the bead was seated. Sorry, not the right application for this. No inflator will work like you need it to.
