    We showed him our preference on how to grip the club correctly by making his weak grip stronger, and then worked on some impact position drills to help stabilize the club face and get the ball starting on line. Watch the full video to see the dynamic impact improvements in under 20 minutes. Hope you enjoy this golf lesson!

    Really interesting to see this change happening to a very athletic guy w/ an aesthetic move. In the learning process, I always go from thinking I know something (e.g. impact position) to realizing that I really don't! --Have to get more open w/ trail arm in close and stabilizing. Great stuff that you can almost feel like you were a part of the lesson! Never get tired of seeing Superstition in the background!

    Hi Milo,
    It seems like there is always a misconception that causes flawed swings. Probably even more important in good golfers. Digging in to what they are trying to do will get to it. You have a great ability to sniff out what isn’t quite right and it might even make it easier if you ask them specifically what they are trying to do. He also has a hard time with the left hand grip because the club is on the ground and he can really dig it into the fingers and come over it. Why I try to change that, I get the grip with the club out in front of me… that way I’ll never grip over it like that.
    That was a great lesson.
    Thanks, Alan.

    Hey Milo and Henry! I've noticed in Milo's slo mo swings that he lowers his body and head in the backswing/loading phase and then he actually stands up more/his head raises after transition and through impact. I assume this has a lot to do with ground force and timing.
    In videos of my swing I noticed that I am doing the opposite (tall in the backswing and then I immediately drop down in transition and through impact)
    If you could do a video at some point on how this works that would be awesome! Thanks guys.

    Really enjoyable video. Quick question.....was Henry suggesting that the student have his club face slightly open or heel ahead of toe? And if so, is that supposed to "tell the brain" in essence to hit the ball more to the left for this player? Thanks

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  Před 2 lety

      Hey Vance, Henry here. When the toe surpasses the heel at or prior to strike we get a pull or pull hook. For RJ, feeling the heel win the race a bit helped with shaft lean, trail arm under lead, and a more square to slightly open face.

      @@MiloLinesGolf This may help me too. My tendency is to hit pulls and pull hooks. I rarely hit a slice and have difficulty hitting fades with my irons. I've wondered if being right hand dominant and playing left handed is partly to blame. I pull with my dominant right hand and the left hand turns over because of this. If I focus on using more left hand and arm I hit better shots. My left hand grip is not strong like RJ's was though.

      The force you push into your legs will make you rotate.

      @@MiloLinesGolf Well, when someone is trying to rush the clubhead toward the ball have them try to swing the club backward or handle first, and the easiest way to feel that is to feel like you're trying to pull the grip off the club. That's the way we swing a baseball bat, which is why it's got a knob on the end. (Which has a name that I can't think of right now.)
