Thank you. This was fun. I only needed the digits 0 through 9 for a python program I am running on my desktop to show the current time in big digits on a black background, and this was perfect. Just what I needed.

Thank you for the walk through. I was worried I would have to have a certain paid software to get this done, and I am so glad that there are people like you out here to show us how easily this can be accomplished! 👌

Cool tutorial. This makes the process much easier than some Fontforge tutorials that I've watched.
It's inspired me to give it a try. Thanks 👍

I only needed a limited set of characters that I created in Coreldraw and were ready to go, I managed to create in the ttf file in an hour or so after some minor tweaking. For my purpose the font works perfectly but I could see height, kerning and special characters swallowing up a great deal of time. It still seems a quicker option compared to Fontforge. Thanks again for the tutorial.

Thank you for this video. I'm currently working on recreating a font used on a book cover from the 1800s - in Inkscape.

Your freehand calligraphy is pretty good! This doesn't have much to do with Inkscape though, I'm curious why you didn't title it with Calligraphr instead?

Its weird that they ask for a raster image for the filled template instead of a vector one.

I’m new to Inkscape, but not graphics, and have the latest version (1.something). I was just wondering why you install the file within the Inkscape folder system instead of the normal operating system folder? I do have a lot of fonts installed and Inkscape and some other programs are taking a long time to load them up. Maybe this has some relation?

Wondering the same! I personally don't think it would matter, but I'd hate to go through the whole design process to find it didn't work.

In the new versions in Inkscape, there is a font editor. You needn't any template

    WARNING! Please read this!
If you're making geometric fonts in Inkscape and is using grids, NEVER TOUCH the SCALE in the DOCUMENT PROPERTIES PAGE.
The scale RUINS the accuracy of the coordinates of your nodes, from something like X: 256 Y: 512 to X: 257.157 Y: 512.54
If you change back the scale, the coordinates are still RUINED. It could only be fixed by UNDO.
If you change the scale accidentally, undo immediately!
This SHI* destroyed the accuracy of my glyphs! It's very frustrating and takes an unnecessary amount of time to fix all the glyphs position one by one, that's almost unfixable. It's also gonna cause a lot of problems when I import those "coordinate ruined" glyphs into Fontforge.

Calligraphr 90% of the video, not inkscape👎😤
