My EGX500 runs great. I use the gas adjust on HV for shells over 1300fps and I close it for shells with less than that pressure. I think Panzer did a good job with it
@@Scott67 were you using the gas adjust on low setting when you were having issues with those boxes of ammo in the video? You never mentioned what setting the gas system was on...
That's a nasty flinch you got there, Scott. You may want to run some drills to smooth that out. ;) Nice video, very concise and helpful. Thanks for showing the features of the gun without 10 mins of "unboxing". lol
You may want to use the gas adjustment, 2 settings. That other know in front other the charging area on the right side, you never addressed that, which may help in lower " feet per second", not frames... Good luck man
Like the review, I bought mine about 3 months ago, I replaced the open sights with better pop ups and risers for both front and rear, replaced the fore grip with a magpul vertical bicycle grip. Been taking it to the indoor range banging slugs on the HV setting. No issues at about 50 rounds cycles for me well, love this bullpup. Thanks again for the review.
Thanks. I tried but could have done better. Very cool to hear you did what I thought this gun needed as far as setup. I don't mind the sights but I don't like having to bury my face in the cheek riser. So getting a set of risers is something I'm getting for sure. What velocity are the slugs your using? I didn't use the HV setting at the range {Didn't even mention it in video}. Anyway, thanks for sharing and I too love this shotgun.
@@Scott67 I just been using Winchester 1600 fps fosters from Wally World, and I can actually get my face up off the gun and use the risers I put on to make the cheek rest work for me. I either have 1/2 in risers or 3/4 in I forget. But it clears my face off the butt stock. I need to get to the outdoor range and shoot some clays actually to see how it does with lighter loads.
I've shot plenty of shotguns before, but I'm thinking about getting this for my first gun (I can't really afford anything much more expensive), would you recommend it or should I avoid as a newbie?
Thanks for catching that. I said that in 2 video's as I guess you noticed. I like this shotgun. Long story short. This is not my best work. I'll strive to do better. Thanks again.
Did you try the other gas block setting with the ammo you were having issues with? Looks like you had that knob on the right side pulled out which from what I read about is for "heavy loads"; which I think may be intended for 3" shells. If you are using 2 3/4" shells, you may need to run the gas block in "light load" mode by pushing that pin in. It's the knob on the right hand side that is just forward of where the charging handle would be if that were on the right side too.
I've been to the range a handful of times and couldn't get it to run well. Everything under 1400 fps has been in the standard position. The slugs have been shot in Hv setting (pulled out). I went back and read the manual. It does state that it needs a break in period. Sorry I didn't show or talk about the gas block setting. I'm going to have to do a part 2 on this one.
Thanks for the review one of the biggest selling points about the shotgun was the adjustable gas block. All the promo says that pushing it in or out, should help with cycling different kinds of ammo. I don’t think you mentioned that in the video have you tried it?
You are right. I did not mention it and I apologize. I took this to the range many times and just couldn't get it to run on the regular setting. By the time I made the video the adjustable gas block switch was just forgotten.

I have the gun and the gas block didn't make much difference. It won't cycle well if you are not shooting high velocity rounds over 1300 fps. It doesn't do well with any bird shots either.
