I'm with you. I bought Thunder From the East in 1986. That was the theme music of that Summer. The only Japanese band to break the American market. Back then, Akira was being called the "next Eddie van Halen."
Fuckin-A!! Still absolutely kicking ass! They sound as good as ever! Of course Masayuki Suzuki is a killer drummer, but I wish Munetaka Higuchi was still here. RIP

Akira has worn many wigs throughout the years - sometimes looking like a metal George Clinton. Looks like for this throwback performance they pulled out the leather and spandex outfits from the 80s, but they don't normally look like this anymore! This year they re-recorded all the early stuff - pretty good.
back in about 86 i saw loudness, squire and ratt in 1 bill. the mix for loudness and ratt was SO BAD i couldn't tell one song from another. squire was the shit though.
This blows!!! they need to keep making heavy metal...its 2016 not the 80's anymore. I understand what they're doing in this show but they just keep redoing their old stuff, and remastering it. Such a waste of talent.
