We will go down the famous Sumidero Canyon, explore waterfalls, and visit a coffee plantation. I took this trip in Dec 2022 with my mom and my husband and all I can think about is getting back there!...and how can I live there! hahah

Speaking with the builder I felt very good about her project because, like you said, she has accountability to the town and is building the right way. Even though all of the construction is shocking you have a healthy take on it by thinking that change is here so adapt to it. I just hope for your sake that the boom ends soon because no matter how positive change can be, too much change too fast can be devastating. It is a "wait and see" time, I suppose.
Yes, same!!! She really gave me a different perspective! Also I heard that the last president gave a lot of permissions to build these large buildings, and NOW there is a freeze on them. So I am hoping that there will be a slow down in this type of construction on general. But like I said in the video I'd feel more comfortable sharing her project than many others!

Part one made me sad too... but seeing this 2nd video was amazing!. What a blessing you went there and how it all worked out getting to meet and speak to her and hear about her project. Its is amazing and they kept it small and so smart!!
Thats what the area needs is more local people like her that have the better interest of the land and community in mind. Hopefully other local people that are able to can buy more land and not over build before outside people buy it up and build too many big buildings because they do take away from the Puerto Morelos small town charm.

Building in Mexico is challenging! We've had a place in Bahia Asuncion, BCS, for about 17 years. It basically was a shack that should have been torn down but we had no money. So over the years we've fixed it up poco poquito. You need to be patient and expect the unexpected. Keep up the great work.

Nice video, Trish. Great that Huma is more considerate of nature and resources in her project. I feel this should be the standard for all building projects, tourism etc. Are there any educational projects in PM on eco-friendly living, eco-tourism, marine conservation, nature conservation etc.? xx
Yes, absolutely should be a standard but it's not! I am just so happy I found her and a project I'd be happy to support0!
Another fab video, there are still adorable + affordable places in PM. Just maybe not at the beach.
Even in the Colonia places are so expensive! Houses that used to be $20,000USD are now $125,000USD
Love the video, very informative, I really like that it’s less about the “shocking growth” but rather about the natural speculative development from contractors aiming for foreign investment, this happens everywhere, and yes this will drive prices up and thats good for those who’ve bought as an investment and will grow the area as even more services come to the area. Downside costs will rise, noise and traffic will also, but that’s natural growth, the real question is, is it sustainable, from an environmental point and resources, like water services, garbage, recycling (maybe something you can address in a future video?). Already I feel those are lacking and can be a major problem if not addressed soon (my two cents anyway).
Hi Oliver!! Thanks I tried to just get some info out and hope people appreciate it! So thanks for your comment on this! Yes for those that have invested its great! For locals that don't own like Diego and I, it's quite scary! This is one reason I'm getting back on CZcams we need another income source to be able to survive here. I really want to figure out a way to finance a house soon! As far as water, garbage, electricity that you mentioned those I believe will all be a problem. The town will most likely not prepare well and then try to fix it after. Although PM has gotten A LOT better at being organized and getting things fixed still has a long way to go to support this kind of growth. Did you see my video before this?? The shocking growth of Puerto Morelos? You would probably like to see that one too!

Be very careful who you partner with......partners can and will pursue their own interests - even at your expense. Some people believe in a relative honesty - relative to serving their own interests but still calling it honest. Check the fine print and insist on accountability. Pre sale is using your money for their profit......know what is in it for you.
GREAT advice! I know some people that have already had issues with builders in the area. Lots of water leakage and flooding of the street. People have no idea what they are getting into with these BIG builders!

Honey....these developers are gonna price you and your friends right out of PM... PM is done....sorry to say. You are recording the end of it as an affordable option for most of us. We will give it a hard pass after seeing these (very honest) videos....

Even if a vegan is the builder or a meat eater it remains destructive to the “mangroovy” .The animals that lose their homes are the ones that are suffering. This “developer probably also has places in Tulum or friends that also “justify” destruction to the environment under the disguise of being lovers of the earth. I call BS on this way of justification. It’s not all about the humans and our selfish behavior making this once little fishing village a nightmarish joke, it is about the health of Mother Earth and the wildlife that depend on it to survive. There is NO other way to look at it even if you try to paint it differently because you are vegan or a singer or environmentally aware. If you are contributing to building ANOTHER huge structure to support rich selfish humans, then you are causing animals and the ecosystem to suffer which will eventually come back and bite us ALL in the butt! I also recognize that I am part of the problem just renting a place here. But even if I had the money to do a project like this, I would not do it. This is exactly how Tulum started its journey down the dark rabbit hole.
I just feel that if we were to build projects like this, I have a lot more respect for the way they are doing it. You should see how bad and terrible quality a lot of those other buildings are. These things are happening, we can't control it but if we had a standard of good buildings I would much rather someone like these 2 than the huge developers that are like wham bam thank you ma'am. I respect their project and appreciate the pride they take in it.
We have to realize things are happening?! As a local we need to stop the government on giving permits to stupid projects made by foolish fools. Conscious?! Hahahahahaha hilarious
Well then, go stop it! You can't, as I mentioned having your way of thinking is how I used to feel until I realized that it's not just happening here in PM. This is worldwide. You can sit here and comment and be mad about it, and see how that affects you negatively or learn to accept it. You can't stop this train, neither can I. So, in the least of these, a local builder with pride in their work and conscious about the environment I can get behind.
More gentrification, stupid projects with crazy names... Gross development, and it's even worse if it's made by a local even worse yet
Welp ots happening sorry, you can't stop it nor can I. Like I have commented to you before Angel if this upsets you go make a difference. Id love to but as a foreigner I can not, but even as a national I would not take that battle on. Its not just PM its world wide. Its hard to see and for so long I fought against it too but I am done. No more of my energy will be spent towards being resentful towards a building.
