    A very neat job, Tim.....a hiatus of seven years hasn't dulled the skill at all and...it's only your second tank 😲! As an aircraft builder, I throw in a tank from time to time just to keep me sane (and, on a very rare occasion, a ship, to remind me that I prefer planes). Great to see something different done well 👍.

    Nice Job there Tim!!
    To be honest you can't go wrong with these new Tamiya 1:35 armour kits for mojo builds.
    I just finished the Tamiya 1:35 French Char B1 bis highly recommended.
    Kind regards Dave

      Cheers Dave. No you can’t... I did make mistakes but I’ll put that down to being an armour noob.. that Char is on the “potential” list you know....
      Thanks for stopping by mate

  • @toboldlygosmodelworks1973

    Excellent, you've made your way to the dark (daft) side Tim 😉😉
    It took me nearly 40 years of modelling before I built my first piece of Armour..
    And that was 2 years ago😲

      I’ve avoided it like the plague James, but it’s always been around.... in the corner of my eye... like a ghost. Like I said, the Desert War of ‘42/3 is where I came in. It’s like starting all over again. I’ll stick with Brits first...
      Damn hobby!

    Yeah armour cars n tanks are fantastic builds! I've been getting a couple of aircraft kits in bot built them yet but just to mix it up but can't see me ever making the change over really! I've just spent a wee fortune this month getting most the new kits just come out to keep me going till Xmas atleast but always room for more lol! Building mengs new Chieftain mk10 it's fantastic! I don't normally do much in modern but this things beautiful compared to the old Takom kit! Rfms stug is next and das werks 1.16 I got them this week and Geckos new Daimler AC and built ICMs new fence laffly over the weekend there, quicker build I've had for a long time ugly but cool lol

      I just can’t seem to fully get into armour Charlie, armoured cars however are pretty cool. I do like the look of the Gecko British stuff. I will revisit the tanks but definitely won’t be the run-of-the-mill Tamiya mainstream stuff.

    Excellent finish. Also, it's easy to under stand what you had done. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Tim
    My dad served in the North African Campaign during the Wavell push and was transported 12 miles from 1 area to another on top of a Valentine and often said the Valentine and Matilda were the best British tanks on the Desert until the appearance of the Grant tank

    • @TimsScaleModelling
      @TimsScaleModelling  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi John... 12 miles in the desert on a Valentine seems awesome, even in during war (I bet was then too). The Matilda is for later in the year and I do need a Grant.
      Great to hear from you mate, I’ve got to say I do watch your vids even tho I don’t often comment. Your vids are kinda unique. Keep em coming

    Hi Tim. What did you use for dust? Pigments? Oils? Also, for the thin coat was it thinner base coat or oils? Great work, by the way.

    • @TimsScaleModelling
      @TimsScaleModelling  Před rokem

      Hi Toni, yeah mostly pigments for the dust. There is some oil used.
