    This is my biggest pet peeve in my cars. No eating anything! I don't even like putting take out in my car because of the residual smell. When I have to I open a window if possible or put it in the trunk. No drinks either, except bottled water. That's why my cars still smell almost new years later.

  • @txmoney
    @txmoney Před 2 lety +2

    I am meticulous with keeping my bought new 2018 Civic EX-T (94,300 miles) clean. I never eat in the car and I’ve never spilled anything.
    Yesterday, (Dec 30 2021) I got the Electronic Parking Brake message. I use the parking brake ALL the time before releasing the regular brake when in Park. The parking brake switch was stuck. The next day, the message cleared and the brake switch became unstuck after I attempted to reengage the switch. So far, after driving all day and using the parking break twice, there has been no further issue.

    • @BCautosolutions
      @BCautosolutions  Před 2 lety

      First off thank you for treating your car with extra care, that’s rare now a days. With that being said it can still fail from normal use especially if used daily like yourself. Sounds like it might be mechanically binding, perhaps some of the plastic inside is starting to break. Keep an eye on it but it’s mechanically binding it’s most likely going to fail sooner rather then later

      Yes, I figure this will become an issue. If I experience it again, I’ll take it in to my Honda service for diagnosis. I miss the old fashioned mechanical parking break. Those usually lasted for the life of the car. Now everything is electronic and prone to fail. When I bought the car, I had the dealership find a Civic without any of the Honda Sensing nonsense as I know that the electronics are often the first things to fail considering how reliable the Honda engines are. I love this particular 10th gen Civic. So far, I’m very happy with it and hope to get at least 300,000 miles.

    Funny look on most of the reviews on youtube when they introduced the new car new model.top 5 flaws they all said was placement of that switch next to cupholder saying it will malfunction when to close to the cup holders. Accidents happen but when predicted before the product was set out for sale.hopefully they change the position and find a new spot.im also happy I stuck with what I know as a older mechanic I always had older cars till I got my 2020 pilot I stayed away from the touring/elite/black edition.staying with the traditional ebrake and 6spd transmission.i hate the electronic ebrake.just more things to brake and malfunction.my friend has trouble using his in the winter in his honda it freezes up and keeps going after you hit the button.only happens after a late night freeze up.and is fine all yr till it's slush and snow with a deep freeze

      Yes you have to replace it. On the accord you have to take out the 2 side pads where your knee would hit, then you open the arm rest and start lifting on the center console trim from there. I believe there’s some Phillips screws towards the front once you remove the knee pad trim. Just lift from the back and pull gently until you see what’s holding it down. Once center console insert is out it’s got a bunch of philips holding button assembly to the console insert. Next one I get I’ll do full video 👍🏻
