    This feature is also great if the road is slippery, like ice and snow, and you stop on a slope. You're less likely to lose traction when you start to drive, because the brakes hold just in time for the automatic transmission to engage. The car will not roll backwards, causing the wheels to spin.

    Thank you for making the video.
    I experienced this yesterday. I will have to suggest a new video.
    This happened to me yesterday while on drive thru. The light turned red on the parking break and released the break and it would not release.
    I panicked and could not set it to drive. I turned off the car instead. That was my only option at that point.
    I followed the process to take the break off and I was finally able to drive.

    For stop and go. If Brake hold is engage does it disengage when you add throttle and you need to press the brake hold again? For a manual transmission, i assume still need to keep foot on the clutch if in gear at lets say 1st gear in traffic and you don’t want to keep shifting to neutral each time. Want to clarify.

    Usually in cars with automatic transmission (with no brake hold), if one stops car with drive mode engaged and press brake - it puts pressure on both clutch and brake pads. Is it also same in case of brake hold?
    If that's the case, would it be still better to just shift to neutral to keep clutch and brake pads relaxed?
    Thanks

    @markr.1984 Před rokem

    I have it on my 6-speed manual 2018 Civic Sedan EXT. And I rarely need or use it, even facing up a steep hill at a stop. I'm good enough with the accelerator and clutch that I can start out from a dead stop up a steep hill without the car drifting backwards much, maybe just an inch or so. Starting from a dead stop facing uphill has been the bane of inexperienced stick shift users since the early 20th century. People get scared because they are afraid of not getting it right when time to let out the clutch and give it gas and stalling the car out, killing the engine. Or worse yet, allowing the car to drift backwards too far and hit the car behind them. But I've been driving sticks since I was 6 years old on a farm in the 1960s!! I can handle a clutch car just fine.
