    I took the rear seat out of my 2019 Toyota Hiace Crew (without disconnecting the battery). I have a dash warning "airbag system malfunction". Is there a way to "dongle" or short the seat belt sensor harness (only to the rear seat). I believe I have to get toyota to clear the codes of the malfunction. I want the seat permanently out or at least the option to have it out for camping AND have my front airbags working.

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes you would need to clear the code with a diagnostic scanner after you put the seat back. If you are not planning to put the seat back and still want the airbag light to turn off then you will need to use a 2 OHM resistor. Place the resistor in the harness plug that plugged into to seat belt. This would give a 2 OHM resistance to the SRS system and it would think that the seat belt is there. Do this at your own risk.

      @MyAirbags  Před 5 lety +4

      Arthur, Thank you for your question! After an accident, the seat belts deploy and lock up. Unlocking the belt is one problem, but not the main problem. You want to repair your belt so it works again if there is another accident. There is an explosive charge inside that needs to be completely replaced. This is something that you need a professional company to handle who has all the correct explosive licenses. You can buy a brand new belt, but if you want to save and repair/rebuild the belt, then you should use a good reputable company with the licenses to do so. The belt has to function again in another accident event. With seat belts, you want to save BUT also make sure the job is done right 100%. This is why body shops, collision shops and salvage rebuilders from all over use myairbags.com.
      Repair is just 24 hours and prices are very good compared to new expensive dealership prices.
      Also - You have a good idea for us! We will start working on a video on how to re-install the seat belt.
