Speechless! - Incredibly RARE Old Coins found Metal Detecting at a 1600's Farm

- We always have high hopes when we get permission to metal detect at old virgin ground, especially when the ground has incredible age to it. But this spot blew away anything we even hoped for! We first got access to this colonial farm last week and right near the end of the day we pinned down the original 1650's farm house location. 1700's Silver Reale, Liberty Cap half-cent, and several other large coppers were late day surprises but then the sun went down. On this return trip we spent the whole day at the old homesite area and as incredible as the day 1 coins are were, day two just knocked our socks off! This place was just nuts!

You’re killing me guys. One large after another. Very cool video and congrats to all of you. When I find my first large cent here in Michigan, you WILL, hear me scream!
Best of luck Jeff and I’ll keep my ears open!
Wow! That is one of the best looking colonial coins I've ever seen come out of the ground! Congratulations to all of you on a great hunt
SPEECHLESS!!!! Sums it perfectly! Props to the new kid! All of you are amazing! Thank you Jason for your great videos :)
Thanks Dawn!
Jason, Dogtag,Nibbler and Scott (newbie Mc Newberson) ! This was just Awesome ! Welcome Scott !!
Thanks Todd! I have to start writing all these nicknames down! 🙂
I think the thing that amazes me the most is that these thing have just been sitting there 100 yrs or more just waiting for someone to find them. Great finds guys!
"Very gently like you're changing a baby squirrel's diaper"...WHAT! Lol The NJ State copper was an amazing find. Way to go, Scott!
Great finds guys! Hibernia sweet! Congrats. Thanks for sharing! GL & HH!
Fantastic video Jason with some amazing finds! That state copper is awesome! Keep up the amazing job. I’ve been challenged to do the Wheatie challenge. Looks like you’ve got your book half full! I better get busy. Happy Hunting! ~ Gypsy
Killer finds!! Really enjoyed the show and looking forward to more!!!!!
Wow! That was an awesome hunt!! Some really cool early American history right there👍🏻👍🏻
That video was amazing from start to finish! Those old coins were freaking cool!
That's what ALWAYS happens, when you take an inexperienced person anywhere!! I have a distinct feeling, that this guy has found a new hobby!
There is definitely beginners luck at play but who knows, maybe we all would have missed that exact spot and the coin would still be lost forever. Better the newby than no one! 🙂
Nice hunt with some great coins! That State copper is actually an error coin from the mint. It's called a "clipped planchet". This happens when the coin is struck too close to the edge of the material. Very common for the mint to let them go with errors back then. Nice job!
Absolutely incredible hunt and finds. Thanks for sharing it with us. Thought I would let you know that I threw a couple dozen wheat cents on my driveway. The only thing covering them is about 8" of snow. You can dig them up. I'll provide the shovel lol. Take care.
Nice show again ! Thanks for sharing. 😊👍👍👍
Never even heard of a Hibernia before but after a quick Googling that's exactly what you guys have. 1723, I can't even fathom digging up a coin that age! Awesome video brother!
For someone who's speechless you talked for 25:42! lol Awesome video QH! I can't believe all the colonial coins you guys are digging up! Once in a lifetime location!
The thumbnail says “Almost” Speechless. Everyone keeps missing the ‘almost’. 🙂. Thanks Bubba!
I come here just to hear Jason talk, much like Aquachigger. So many great finds, not sure how I missed this episode last yr.
Amazing hunt Jason, very well done, and congrats to all. atb Michael
The two wreaths represent Aretha Franklin!! Haha, I almost peed myself
Well I hope you were watching from the toilet. 🙂
That was one great hunt. Congrats to all 4 of you.
Amazing hunt, going to be a great year for you. Best of luck.
Awesome finds Jason. Great advise on diggin it all. Thanks for sharing pal.
It looks like you all had a fun time. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome hunt fellas, and congrats on the Draped Bust Half Cent! I've only found one of those through the years so a special find. Much more uncommon than a standard LC.
John
JJ Diggins here wow incredible video and finds I like the competition it was fun to watch!!! Id love to find some older coins like that👍🏼👍🏼😁
Thanks JJ!
Speechless is right, that Jersey copper is beautiful, definitely one of my top bucket listers for me to find, congrats to the new guy....
Thanks Frank! Going into the day the new guy’s oldest coin was 1897. Then he digs a 1827 LC, 1786 NJ copper, and then a 1723 Woods Hibernia. It’s safe to say he’s ruined now! Lol.
With a title like that I had to fast forward to the wrapup and see if there really were incredible rare coins. I must say that you weren't kidding. Now I'm gonna go back and watch!
Hey Quig, I don’t mess around! 😉
Wow! ....What an outstanding hunt!!!I know that must have been a blast! Really enjoyed you guys sharing it with us!!!
Thanks!
Any one of those rare coins would have made the day. Really great video! Your sticker is finally on the side of my dive boat! Looking good!
Awesome! Man, I’d love to try dive detecting. I’m hoping this summer.
Great hunt Jason loved the old lock and the coins and all the other cool stuff
OMG?...I can't believe someone used the " That's what she said" line...Bahahahaha. CLASSIC!! The metal detecting hobby has the most sexual innuendos ever..haha. Stunning finds...new guy Scott is going to clean you guys out if you're not careful. Jane Fondoug...what a trooper.
Amazing finds for all of you. Thanks for sharing that group hunt.gl&hh.
Another great day Jason and you can now cross a Hong Kong large cent off your bucket list...lol. Congrats Scott on finding the Hibernia and that beautiful Jersey copper. As soon as that plow started showing I was screaming Jersey copper!
That Hong Kong large cent has eluded me for years! Then again, so did the fact that it even existed. 🙂
Super awesome video and amazing finds. Thank you for sharing. Happy Hunting.
Great Video! Nice Hunt. Some eye popping finds. lol Happy Hunting
Thanks!
Love your videos. Great job!
Wow! It was fun watching you guys score! Thanks for sharing.

Nice finds guys! Love the New Jersey Copper and the Nibbler's half cent!
Thanks Michael!
Who invited that guy! Awesome hunt guys Newbie Mcnooberson Congrats!
I just hope he doesn’t think those coins are common. He might dig another 50 years and never find another one.
Wow magical coin finds , glad we saw and you shared. Thanks so much . HH
Thanks Dave!
So good! Kickin butt guys!
Amazing video Jason! Loved hearing your excitement seeing those amazing coins. Also, the large cent you're not sure about is braided hair and appears to be 1850 from what I can tell.
That NJ state copper is stunning!
Thanks JD. When they’re dirty I always have a hard time telling the Braided Hair LCs from the Matron Heads. NJ copper was a stunner! Those beginners always have the best luck! 🙂
I don't think I ever had beginners luck. Because I literally dug 30 silver dimes before my first quarter. LOL. Dime Hoarder just doesn't have the same ring to it as Quarter Hoarder. ;-)
WOW ! DIG IT ALL I SAY TO MY BUDDIES... Well done guys
Congratulations gentlemen what a hunt. As you said dig everything because there just may be treasure in the next hole. Thanks for sharing and best of luck on your next hunt.
Amazing finds Congrats on saving all that history
Awesome coins guys. Some cool relics too!

Great finds. Another winter storm for this weekend. Already have 2 feet of snow. Enjoy your videos. Spring is coming!
We got the winter storm yesterday but today was almost 50 and it all melted. Crazy winter but for the most part fairly mild here.
Great Treasure Hunting! What a score!
Nice One Newbie McNooberson... Great Video Guys ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Not many nicknames that rhyme with Zoobie. You must have been elated! 🙂
Wow..just wow..NJ state copper..doesn't get much better than that.. good job and great video
Wow what a great area! That state copper is awesome!
Thanks Brandon! We’ve had more than our share of places that only gave up wheat cents. We were due for a winner!
Awesome Large Cents, KGIII 1723 Hibernia and N.J. State Copper. Terrific finds for you and company. 🤗 Big Congrats on your 1 Reale Jason. 👍👏👍 Great Hunt with the Garrett's and the Equinoxes 😉 Great Job and Happy Hunting my Friend 😁
Thanks Johnny! Great to see you around. Hoping to see a few videos coming from you this year!
Great bunch of coins guys. Congrats
Thanks Don!
Great job guys!
Thanks!
Boo to those who thumb down this video!! It was great!! Congrats to you all on your finds!
Thanks Lisa and I appreciate your boo rally! 🙂
Awesome finds! I would suggest carrying a small powerful flashlight to shine across the surface of found coins and relics it really helps the detail come out when trying to ID in the field HHGL
I actually bought a high powered flashlight for that very purpose and of course I left it at home. I used it afterwards and was able to ID the KG3 so that trick does work! Thanks.
Great video Jason. Quarter horder #1.
This will be good!!! Excited
Thanks Pascal!
Awesome video hoarder ! I will volunteer to be a “newbie” if you share like that !! Congrats on a great DIG 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Fantastic hunt guys I really enjoyed it!
Thanks Deej!
The banana always brings luck, it just worked for Newby McNewberson this week! lol
The banana is an equal opportunity luck bringer. 🙂
This is the second or third time I've heard you singing now. Don't tell me there's going to be a spin-off channel. Quarter Hoarder Sings the Classics! lol
The strangest part is that I only know about 12 songs.
Great place you guys got there.Awesome coins..
I love your nicknames, I love your enthusiasm, I love watching your videos Jason!! After seeing that coin I never even knew about (the Hibernia), and your reaction, I just had to run to Ebay and buy one! (And I did)..Thanks Jase:) -Nancy Ann
Wow! Congratulations on your new coin addition! I hope you can read the date on yours! 🙂
Quarter Hoarder yup! 1723😊
Fantastic finds! H.H.
Outstanding hunt Jason, congratulations! I really have to take you up on that offer to meet up with you one of these days! Still waiting to dig my first Large Cent, but the ground is still frozen here. Great job, GL and HH!
Our next hunt the ground was like concrete. I ruined a colonial copper with my shovel trying to dig though the ground. Hopefully winters grasp will pass by soon!
@@QuarterHoarder No kidding.. I'm getting cabin fever waiting to go out...I need digging therapy!
That jersey state copper was beautiful !!
Oh man, it sure was!
Great hunt guys! Those old coins are awesome!

@@QuarterHoarder i sure Hope so! A nice silver is well overdue by now!
Great finds!
Thanks Mary!
I so enjoy your hunts! And I appreciate your BasiaQuarter counts, miss her so much!
Congrats Jason some awesome finds guys. Good luck and happy hunting brother
Thanks Cain!
Pretty awesome finds guys.
Thanks Daniel!
I need to move ...LOL... What a day, eh? Congrats everyone ! Love the finds and Videos! I think the Hong Kong one cent is Queen Victoria on front? And what was your mystery coin??
That Hibernia was made in Ireland in the early 1700's. Probably came over with settlers. What a true piece of history there!
Awesome hunt congrats guys on the great coins!
Thanks!
The title alone saying that YOU are speechless is definitely clickbait lol
In my defense, it says "Almost" speechless. Almost....
😆😆😆😆😆
What is this crazy channel? I came here for the clickbait, and he definitely was NOT speechless.
It is pretty much certain Jeff will not use even "Almost speechless" phrase in his titles. Ever. Sounds like a challenge 😁
hahahahahahaa right right
I think that the one coin at 1105 was a draped half cent 1800 to 1808.
Wow! What a hunt!
I think they call that Jersey Copper the Camel Head variety. The story on the Jersey coppers explains why there's so many varieties. Jersey was as shady then as it is today. Two different guys had contracts to strike coins and they were swapping backs of dies because they cracked so many. They there were counterfeits going around and one of the authorized guys to mint coins actually got his hands on the counterfeit dies and used his reverse with the counterfeiters obverse die so as of a couple years ago they are still finding new varieties. Counterfeits are more prized then the authorized coins because some of the legit coins were slightly underweight so he made extra coins using copper that was supplied to him. Meaning he was given enough copper to strike 2,000 but struck like 2,050. When I found my first one at 16 it was different then the one my father dug so after tons of researching I learned about the craziness going on in New Jersey and striking their state coppers. He had the large shield reverse with either the Camel Head obverse or what's called the serpent head. They are kind of close. It's slightly pitted and hard to see on video. Great hunt though. With the different amount of coins circulating back then it made counterfeits easy to get away with. Many weren't struck well and they are most likely a lot of the ones that come up super slick like a button because they had weak strikes. Even Great Britain were sending over counterfeits. Iol Jersey is so bad in the '40's Jennings counterfeited thousands of nickels and dumped most in Camden county on the banks of the Cooper River. I thought I would give a little Jersey coinage corruption trivia
Edit a south Jersey dealer has a huge poster on the wall in his shop showing all of the varieties know at that time. It's changed since then
incredible video congrats.
Thanks Richard!
Wish we had that kinda history here in Arkansas.Amazing finds Jason
OMG ! I'm surprised Newbie find a gold bar while he was at it . Great video Jason !
Haha, if we stayed another hour I’m sure he would have pulled 2! 🙂
Wow you found Superman’s padlock!
That's an awfully weird place to find a British Hong Kong penny. I've seen them dug up around the Thames in London, but never in the US. That's Queen Vicroria on the other face.
Amazing hunt, guys!
9:30 -The Brits took possession of Hong Kong in April 1899
yep. Should be queen Victoria on there.
I had no idea!
Very nice finds congrats hh.
Thanks!
