Oh boy I am so glad you made this video. I wanted a nice double din for a 1998 E350 RV I just purchased and I had been looking at the ATOTO radio what a coincidence! I bought one and I am glad you listed that bracket part I would have never found that. My dash is almost identical but a little different overall however the radio slot is identical so it's all working out beautifully so far. My wiring harness is a little different, it has 2 connectors not one but I'm able to use the old harness off the old radio just fine. I may only have to cut one of the top or bottom tabs off and I don't think I will have to cut the side tabs off at all there is a good bit of space there on both sides so we will see once my bracket comes in. I don't have a small access on the top of my dash like you to bring the wires for the wifi and GPS up there so I have to figure out something there hopefully it won't be to hard to get those in the same position. I wanted those up front on the top of the dash near the windshield too.

Great job! Last year I did the exact same job, installing an ATOTO Android unit in my '98 Econoline E-350. BUT... I chose to go full install. It is a pitty that you didn't since the ATOTO unit is a smart one and has a lot of integration on it. I've installed a back-up camera which is activated automatically when I shift in reverse; I've installed a dash camera for the front that is connected to and controlled by the unit; because it is more convenient, I added the ATOTO steering control which very easy to use; I added also external tire sensors that communicate with the unit and display the pressure and the temperature or each tire, also send a warning signal to the speakers if there is a flat tire or it looses pressure below a treshold that you can customize; I've installed an external microphone for a better voice quality.
All of these extra things I have added are ATOTO accesories, sold separately. It was well worth the extra money. Now I really have some updated tech in my van that many new modern vehicles are missing from the factory.
I also used a different face frame to make the installation clean and neat.
The adaptors to a full install are too expensive for me to invest in for an unpaid video. These kinds of videos get some fews views they barely earn enough to justify the time invested to created them. The companies that send me the products, are just giving me the product, but no money. If I have to invest 2
$200 in parts to do a full install, I am just losing money. For this reason I do not do these kinds of videos that require me to buy parts to complete the video. It is just a loss of time and money for me. Add to this that CZcams is destroying channels like mine by cutting our revenue by 75% in the last year, and it is almost not worth it to create videos for CZcams anymore. People seem to only value mind crack content, while us Creator's who make useful content starve to death.

Thanks for the great video! I am installing almost the same model of radio and was looking at the mounting kit. Its instructions say that once it clicks into place, you must remove the dash to remove the radio. But, you trimmed the sides! That's awesome, but how well does the radio hold into place? I noticed you had a little trouble seating it, is that because it no longer snapped into place? I want to be confident before I slide mine into place because I haven't a clue how to take the dash apart!
Hi. There is barely enough room in the dash for the android head unit I installed and it went very tight. Since the installation, the vehicle has traveled over 15,000 miles with no problems. The unit is still secure in the dash and has not worked loose. It is a very tight fit to get it though. Once in, it will be even more difficult to get it out. I hope this helps.

There is an antenna cable adaptor that came with the unit I received, but I did not need it as the factor antenna cable was the right size already.

The model I got did not come with one, but they do sell one for it. I did not need one because the vehicle already had a rearview mirror unit installed.
If you want to remove the head is it easy to take out? I may want to put in a rear view camera just not yet? Deciding which one to choose. Thanks I shared. Great video.
It can be taken out. The fit was a little tight on my installation and may require a little force to get it out, but it can be taken out.
Thx for the vid, Could the WiFi and GPS ends be double sided taped to under that access pannel and still work? Would have been a cleaner look......

I have a 1998 E150. I cut off the top and sides of the hole where the receiver slides in, just like in the video. The top and bottom had to come off. The sides were tight, so i cut them off too, just like in the video. The sides should not be cut off. When the sides are cut off, there is nothing to lock the mounting kit in place. Meaning, if you push on the receiver, it falls through the hole. I strongly advise, thinking twice before removing the sides. In hindsight, i think you should attempt bending and wiggling the receiver from side to side to get it in.

What was the tool you used to trim out the opening? Milwaukee of some sort or ??? Have not seen that one as yet.
Mine is a very old model that is not made anymore. If you will look in the description of the video, I have a link to a modern version of the tool in the video. I always provide links to the exact item if it is available, but in cases where the item is not available, I will link to something similar.
Home Depot has a good one... Ryobi. It works well and is reliable. I bought it and the guys at work beat it all the time.

Does any double din stereo work or it has to be that one specifically?
I would imagine that this method would work for most standard size double sin units.
Did u hav issues with rebooting when powering on?
No. I occasionally have issue with it freezing up and needing to be rebooted when running navigation apps for a long time.
I ran my head unit usb across the dash, dropping it into the door panel pouch.
