  • Best to download the full owner's manual; this is more detailed on setting up the soundbar to your tv. Most questions would be answered within the full manual. The quick start that comes with the soundbar is inadequate.
    Setting up the Smart Thing app is straight forward, just follow the prompts and if you wish, follow with the full manual. Basically you download the app, select your wireless network, select soundbar (if not there click on add device and the soundbar will populate), name location.
    Make sure HDMI Arc is set to Auto or On. Make sure Digital Out is set to Auto 1 or that all channels are compressed; otherwise when you switch between sources or between streaming apps you will lose tv/soundbar connection. Make sure Pass Thru is Auto or On.
    One other mention. Follow the guide and rear speaker placement. Note that the side speaker drivers of the rear speaker should be pointed towards the side walls and not pointed inwards at each other. This point is not to clear in the set-up guide.
    You can use the channel level to increase the surround speakers. The Space Fit Pro will set up the initial channel levels for you. The Space Fit Pro will intermittently poll the speakers and refine adjustments as you may have moved or added furnishings, your seating position may have changed, etc. You then fine tune channel levels to your preference. If you have a large room and you do not have enough volume out of the rear speakers, lower the center channel; which in effect raises the rear speakers level in relation to the center speakers.
    If you find bass lacking, move the subwoofer around the room and or turn the subwoofer sideways or reverse it so port is facing the front (my preference). Also, play around with the bass enhancement feature. This increase bass which is good when listening at a lower volume level as our hearing bass senstivities decrease with volume output.
    Part 3 would be updating firmware.

    Excellent, clear instructions - thank you for the thorough video covering the finer points of the more complete manual found online - you did a great job and a diligent service for most folks who turned to instructional videos vice reading. I wish manufacturers would include the full version of manuals in the box but admittedly I imagine most don't read them anyway.
    When you were covering the "hidden" buttons I realized I missed those pages. Imagine all the folks tolerating using two remotes unknowingly.

    Great soundbar I just received mine. I have found this. When usisin 2HDMI ports. 1 via arc from the Tv. And HDMI 1 port for the uhd player. There is no sound at all. The correct input mode was selected on the soundbar. Unless I disconnect one of the HDMI cable. Is that something can be corrected somehow? Or 2 HDMI port can't be used at the same time?

    This is fantastic! I set up this bar using your guide as my main tool. Thank you so much! I have a Sony Bravia XR A95. I'm using a Fire Cube 3rd gen as my main viewing input on HDMI 1. The bar is on HDMI 3 eArc with high speed cable. I can't get the Atmos to show up on the bar readout. What I get is multi channel PCM. Is this a good thing, or would the Atmos give me more immersive sound? I HAD Dolby Atmos displayed the first day, but it's mysteriously disappeared, and now the PCM is what I get on the display. The sound is still pretty decent but doesn't seem as immersive as the Dolby, which freaked the dog out- LOL. Any suggestions?

      Did you set up your TV output correctly like in my 'setting tv' portion of the video? Have to be sure Digital Audio Out is set to 'auto 1' and Pass Thru Mode is set to 'Auto'. Looks like in your setup you have Digital Auto Out set to 'PCM' which is mostly stereo mode. Double check the TV setting to see if it saved your settings.

      @neilmartin7907 Před 5 měsíci

      Can't reply with pix here, but I double-checked, and all those settings are the same on my rig. This one does have some menu items that yours either doesn't have, or that I didn't see or you didn't cover like:
      Audio system prioritization
      Sound mode sync
      A/V sync
      Dolby digital plus output
      This unit has a camera that is supposed to optimize A and V based on my sitting position in the room. Some setting(s) with regard to that may very well be incorrect or maybe I should just disable/remove the cam?

      @@neilmartin7907 I have all of those settings on default but have dd+ selected. Make sure you are watching dolby atmos. I used movie Ghosted on Apple TV which is atmos. While the movie is playing, I hit the info button on the remote and it shows atmos. If you were to pause the screen and click the info button on the remote, when screen is paused it would go into stereo/pcm mode. Does the Fire Cube output Atmos? Check settings on the Cube for audio output. Why not use the apps built into the Sony?

    • @rossishima
      @rossishima  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi, double checked using the Infinity box instead of the apps in the TV. The Infinity box I set the settings to Dolby Plus and then to Best Dolby mode. Either case I received either multi pcm or dd plus even when the movies were listed as Atmos when using Peacock, Paramount, Tubi apps. Only on the Apple App in the Infinity box did I get Atmos. On the Sony TV I always received DD plus and Atmos within the Apple app. So it seems on how the streaming box or app handles Atmos through their digital output mode. Run your bluray player dolby atmos disc thru and see what you get. @@neilmartin7907

    Doesn't spacefit sound pro automatically adjust each channel level for optimum performance then? I noticed you adjusted yours quite dramatically from 0?

    • @rossishima
      @rossishima  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yes, start spacefit with all levels at zero. Then adjust to your liking. I like my surrounds on the 'hot' side. I also have a tendancy of lying down while watching so the high backed couch is kind of a barrier so kicking up the surround is needed. Also, the mics are embedded into the soundbar and the sub, not at the seating position so final adjusments are needed.

      Both have dolby atmos. Surround mode is more accurate for surround modes, but the adaptive uses ai to create illusion of having multiple speakers placed all around the room resulting in a more immersive 3d surrround as well as having more pin point location. • @rossishima
      @rossishima  Před 4 měsíci

      You can set to whatever you want. Personally I have it set to enhanced dolby vision. Does not matter, because I am using the eARC only for audio. The video is already on the TV screen. Everything is run through the TV (bluray, game console etc) and the audio portion is streamed out to the soundbar via hdmi eARC. Now if you are running everything through the soundbar, than both audio and video will be streamed from soundbar to TV, hence you would want to select enhanced. If the TV does not support dolby vision, you may run into conflict issues if using the soundbar as your audio/video input.

    Why do you have the subwoofer facing backwards?

    • @rossishima
      @rossishima  Před 5 měsíci

      Sub placement is crucial for best overall response. Move and position the subwoofer to where you get the most output. In my case, best bass is with ports facing forwards. In fact, for subwoofers ports should be facing forward. Subwoofer mfgs have their ports either top/bottom firing or front mounted for a reason. Bookshelf speakers have ports on the rear to minimize port interference and bass delays are minimal since their frequency does not go so low. On the other hand, subs should have ports forward as rear reflections cause bass delays and wall reflections could cause bass distortions. Also, in my case the rear bass reflections would hit the back of the tv causing wierd bass response. Also, If I were to have the ports pointed to the back, the woofer would be shooting to the right directly at an obstruction (my tower stereo cabinet). So YMMV depending on your particular room configuration.

      For most people, this is all that you need. Between streaming, tv inputs, soundbar inputs, this will do everything a dedicated home theater would do in a lot more compact form and simplistic setting up. Naturally, your room configuration and screen size will dictate if a soundbar is the best option. This soundbar does not have the capability of having dual zone output or CEC controller.

I see many of them giving amazing reviews for this product but none of them compared this with a dedicated system. @@Kvsanal78 A lot of variable come into play. What is your room configuration. How large of an area. How large screen. How far back to you sit. That said, this soundbar will sound better than most entry level dedicated home theater system. Sound placement is clear, distinct, precise and undistorted at high volume levels. Soundstage is as wide as your side wall are when you have the adaptive sound on. Now, under standard mode where the soundbar playsback exactly as recorded; if in stereo, the soundstage will be restricted to the width of the soundbar which maybe an issue if you are a critical listener and a dedicated home theater will allow you to move speakers further apart. But for most casual music it is not a problem. That said, if you are comparing this soundbar to an expensive dedicated home theater system than 5.1.2 would sound better though arguably the soundbar with it atmos can be better overall. Compared to my dedicated home theater, the dedicated one sounds better. If you do not have or experienced a well tuned dedicated home theater...you will not be missing out by having just the soundbar.

    How good will it be if I use rear speakers as front?

    • @rossishima
      @rossishima  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Samsung allows the rear speakers to put up front and use it as front surrounds by choosing it within the app. This would be used to gain an expansive front soundstage that wraps around the front 1/2 of the room. Also good if you have an open concept room with no side walls so you have to increase the front width. In short you would have a killer TV extension speaker but miss out in the surround. Maybe also good for music applications where you move the speakers to the front for music and to the rears for everything else. If you do not have a deep room but it is wide, this would work out as you get the surroud around, just not in the rears. For most people there is no reason to place the rear speakers up front.

The way most people will use the soundbar is by using the tv inputs (bluray players, game consoles, streaming sticks) or smart tv apps. If the tv supports dolby vision than nothing else to do. Dolby vision video goes to tv and audio passed down to the soundbar The Earc enhanced is for those that will use the soundbar's input and feed video and audio from soundbar to tv. • @rossishima
      @rossishima  Před 5 měsíci +7

      You have to experiment as sub placement is pretty critical to get the best, cleanest sounding bass. Most subs are front ported. Rear port will cause a slight delay in bass reaching the listener as the soundwaves must first travel back, reflect off the wall and come forward. If there is anything on that wall or in front of the wall there maybe issues. In my case, the rear reflections will be striking the back of the large tv causing bass issues as my TV is not wall mounted. Also, turning the sub around would have the driving firing towards the outer and into obstacles. It is a case by case basis.

      ARC will get you Dolby Atmos and ARC connection will mean no video/audio sync. eARC, on the other hand, will get you the full effect of Dolby Atmos lossless such as Bluray Atmos disc.

    I thought everything was wireless

      Audio connections are all done wirelessly, no speaker wires. Still need ac cables to power the amps. Some soundbars have built in batteries so no need for ac wires, but the speakers eventually need to be plugged in to charge.

      Bro how you plan on using an electric equipment without plugging it into a power outlet?

      Jbj and Sony both use rechargeable batteries in some of their surrounds.

      True, but I would find it aggravating to have to charge them up before usage. With the JBL, have to reconnect the rears to the soundbar to charge. Having batteries limit power output as more power=more drain. @@davidcretsinger9285

      What is the length of the power cord for the rear speakers? So I can mount them up high facing down etc@@rossishima

    Not going to work. Have to be all LG or all Samsung. You will not be able to mix different manufacturer. Soundbars connect to each other via blue tooth or wireless so there are software/encryption differences. Now if both soundbar and subwoofer has a hard wire connection you can go that route; but most newer systems are just wireless.

      Not so. You can use it with any tv. I’ve got mine setup with an LG and the video clearly shows it with a Sony. The only thing that works exclusively with a Samsung TV is the Q-Symphony support, which uses the TV speaks together with the soundbar.

      You replied to the wrong thread. This was in reference to Panjabriver question regarding hooking up a LG wireless sub to a Samsung soundbar.@@LostYeti99
