    Welcome to the Year of The Mustang project! I'm Jake Harvath, a 24 year old horse trainer, and I'm currently traveling back and forth across the US on horseback. This trip will span thousands of miles as I travel around 20 miles on most days. Each video is a week of my travels across America. I hope you enjoy experiencing the ride alongside me and my horses as we take on this ambitious adventure! If you want to see new places, learn interesting history, and have tons of fun, then this video is for you.

    Hi Jake! I rode by you on a bike on the Schuylkill River Trail and said hi that night. At the time I didn’t know about you, so I was really surprised to see a real cowboy with 2 horses on the trail. I wish I had stopped to chat. Since then I have watched all of your weekly videos. I’m not a horse guy, but I love your story. Good luck on the rest of your amazing journey! Adios!

I grew up in southern Ontario, Canada, and know it's quite humid there in PA too. Do you notice the humidity much, coming from Utah? Ya. I'm glad to be living here in Colorado! I ride a 13 hand Mustang out of the Challis Idaho herd. She walks 3 to 4 miles an hour. I'm just wondering how fast your horses are walking on the level ground and long it takes you to cover 20 miles on average?

    • @jakeharvath
      @jakeharvath  Před měsícem +1

      The boys walk 3-4 miles and hour just like yours. If we ride a 20-mile day it takes us 7-8 hours depending on the terrain and that includes stopping every 2-2.5 hours for a 20 minute rest.
