Eaton hall and the garden's are very nice.i met the Duke quite a few time's when I was a delivery driver, he was very nice and down to earth. it's a shame he died so young. all the money in the world doesn't always bring good health. great video once again. 👍

Such a shame. I delivered a parcel there about a year ago so I never had the pleasure but heard he was a very nice person. It was funny too because I was grumbling to the security saying "who lives here? a duke? which he said yes. :O

It’s a shame that they demolished the old manor I find it way more beautiful but I’m glad that there still live people there.

U know there was a time when the fifth Duke remodelled the Hall with ugly 70's modernist architecture. Can u imagine how crazy rich the grosvenors are that they can afford to use try and error method in building the entire estate.

Daddio and the naval crowd of students at HMS Easton Hall in 1943 were practicing with a home-made cannon in the Painted Hall, which did not go down well with the management.

Certainly it was a major scandal that the great Waterhouse mansion was demolished in the early 1960s.

The first mansion was the loveliest in my book.

I had read that it was riddled with dry rot...and that it would have been more costly to repair it. 😢

To be honest the history of my family home is incredibly detailed, but in a shorter context the original hall had major problems and with constant renovation the hall just became a money pit. So we based this relatively new home after a French Chateau. Hope that helps.

Why on earth have they omitted the utterly preposterously enormous obelisk right in the centre forefront of his grounds? Maybe the young Perfectibilist Hugh Grosvenor, doesn't want us know his true allegiance to the "Light?"

I drove around it and was bigger than I expected.

They shouldn't have demolished the main house. The replacement is vile(but slightly less so since they tarted it up in the 90's).
At least they kept the chapel and a lot of the ancillary buildings though.

What a waist of materials used to build Eaton hall to just be ripped down an replaced with what looks like an oversized council house square and unattractive very sad
