Thank you for this. In the US, I had never heard of these people until today. I think with all we know now, I'd rather be queen of Eton Hall (like that Emily) or something like that than of England. I could lose myself in a place like this. I truly wish the best for them and hope they are very happy.

Now reading the bio, CHANEL: A Woman of Her Own by Axel Madsen, in which Chapter 19 discusses her "affair" with the Duke of Westminster starting in 1925. Chanel was his "girlfriend" from age 42 to age 46. It is disappointing to discover that the original estate was mostly demolished in 1961, so the one that stands now is NOT the one that Chanel visited during her affair with Bendor. HE preferred to spend MOST of his time out on his yachts during the 1920s & 1930s: "The Flying Cloud" and the "Cutty Sark." Chanel did not want to marry him, anyway. She was too busy with her "House of Chanel."

The current Duke should consider restoring Eaton Hall at some point to its former glory prior to its demolition in 1961 to the Waterhouse Hall!

Eaton Hall is a monstrosity. A total carbuncle.

Went to play some music for an event there…. must be about 25 years ago. Left with mixed feelings. It’s all very lovely, a longish drive from the entrance to the house through trees and past reindeer, all very nicely put together. However when one has spent the afternoon stepping over homeless folk and dodging Big Issue sellers while shopping it all seems unnecessarily opulent. Still not sure whether I’m impressed or disgusted.

I’ve served/Bartended very wealthy people during events……no names mentioned.
      Their lives aren’t always fulfilled/happy.

They're no more responsible for the homeless than you are. Blame the government who is supposed to solve those issues.

Needs some gardens outside. Looks barren with giant spires, obelisks, and statues everywhere with just grass around them. Then they crammed their garden into a long ass hallway with a few trees outside.

Gardens take a tremendous amount of money to keep up. Mowing grass doesn't.

If he was so rich then why did he tear down the main house? It was so absolutely remarkably beautiful offer for what the 1960s really? I say put it back put it back exactly the way it was the house is there now is it’s just ugly. It looks like a conference center or some like a like one of those places where they put people like a sanitarium, ugly ugly
