It is not an Egyptian dance, it is an Arabic dance tradition in the Middle East, especially Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt and of course the Arab Gulf countries..

I can't see any relation between the belly dance moves and the Irish traditional music it's like you ask an Irish to dance to sensual Arabic song that needs flexibility when moving,although it's lovely to watch ;).

You're supposed to keep your arms very straight by your sides in traditional irish dance but I'm guessing this is kind of a spin off seeing as the arabic dancing doesn't look that authentic either

If you look at the traditional folk styles, like Irish Sean Nos and even today's Arabic Dabke you will see a lot more similarity.
