I only just found this, a year on lol. I've liked Alabama shakes for a few years, she's raw talent that singer. The lyrics are sublime, great tune.
Discovered them on a concert show a few years back and was blown away. Did a little research and Brittney and a couple of these guys have been together since high school. Even though the record company wanted to push Brittney out front . She’s remained loyal to the band. She instead recorded a well received solo effort. Still records with the Shakes and has a side band called
Thunderbitch with her wife. And yes they are from Alabama.

One of the most tragic things that has ever happened in music was that this band only created two studio albums. First time hearing Brittany Howard I was hooked....all in! Like a drug, had to have more. I pray the band gets back together.

Although she has gone "solo" for a while...I think this band had something special. While I respect her need as a artist to branch off and out , I sure hope Alabama shakes gets back together!
