I worked with the Shakes back when they were recording their first EP, and to this day, Brittney still has the the most powerful voice I've ever heard live. It's absolutely incredible.
Totally agree with that statement.... I've only recently got to hear of these guys as there was a track played in a movie on netflix a few weeks ago ( not this one though) and I had to Google who they where and subsequently found this on CZcams.... She has " by far and a way and without of a doubt" the best female voice I've ever heard....

Brittney Howard has an AMAZING voice, but, also, as someone who has played guitar for 30 out of my 42 years on earth, I could just watch her play that guitar all damn day .. it's a thing of beauty to watch.

Dude ... This band is something else
Brittany Howard, the lead singer, is like the reincarnation of Aretha, Janice Joplin, and Etta James. Soul, rock, and blues, all in one. She emotes ridiculous passion in her performance, every single cell of her being pouring out in her stunningly powerful, unique and exquisite voice, I swear she could have stepped right out of Motown in the 60’s. The songwriting is top notch. The band collectively is Alabama Shakes and the band are excellent musicians, including Brittany on guitar. But as soon as Brittany hits her first note, you can’t help by focus almost completely on her. One of the few performers that’s miles above the recorded version when performing live. She’s one in a million.

I never got into this band but have always respected the talent, dedication and hustle. Some bands are just born to perform live and I think that is where they shine the brightest. I would probably be all-in if I saw a live performance.
Have you ever heard of Chris Cornell? He did a cover as a tribute to Prince, titled " Nothing Compares 2 u. " do you know if this guy Stevie has done this before? I think you would like it and that's the only reason I mention it but if you've never heard the guy you might like him too. I guess I'm asking you because it sounds like you're into rock. I am just learning about some of those old rock bands since the virus came down and we got put on lockdown. I Like Guns and Roses a lot. Anyway I was just curious if your regular on here and if you are maybe you would know because I'm I hiphophead until about a year-and-a-half ago and then I went down this rock and roll Journey with some of these CZcamsrs. I thought the singer was a dude based on the voice(I’ve though the same vise versa before too.) until I came in when you said “She” and I was like “Wow normally I only hear men doing/having feminine singing voices. This is that unicorn type shit. She sounds like a male lead vocalist of a classic rock band. Beautiful rhythm soulful sound emotionally carried notes. B. I’ve never heard of this group, but I have now, so I’ll definitely look into it. C. I’m glad I’m also getting to experience new things through the Journey of you experiencing new things.

Janis Joplin was arguably good because of her Soulful raspy voice if I remember correct though she could also sing a little different on some of her songs.
