Brittany Howard is an amazing singer! For more Women of Americana you should listen to 🛎 Allison Russell “Nightflyer” 🛎 Yola “ Starlight” 🛎Indigo Girls “Closer To Fine” 🛎 Lori McKenna - “The Balladeer” and of course more Brandi Carlile “The Story”. Damn I wish I was at the Newport Folk Festival this weekend 😢.

I have four really good female Friday songs to suggest - K.T. Tunstall - Black Horse And A Cherry Tree, Jennifer Paige - Crush, Terri Gibbs - Somebody's Knockin and Shakespear Sisters - Stay...Thank you much for all you both do, you make me smile everyday!😊😊😊

Ooh yes KT Tunstall. I'd also add PJ Harvey (any song), Joan Osborne (St Theresa) and Tori Amos (Cornflake Girl)

I want to add 2 of my favorite female artists from the late 80s to late 90s:
      10,000 Maniacs & Indigo Girls!

Finally! Once you hear Alabama Shakes there’s no going back. May I suggest Gimme All Your Love LIVE ON SNL next. This live version still gives me the chills...❄️

Without a hit record, Brittany has become a big star from TV appearances and live concerts. Everyone reacts to her the way you did.

Dang for a second I thought you guys finally got around to Alabama the country band but then again I forgot it’s also female Friday. Well tomorrow or sometime soon maybe y’all can get around to Alabama. Start off with their song Feels So Right. You’ll fall in love with them with this love song.

Wow! I knew you'd love this as song as I saw it posted. You also need to hear their song Don't Wanna Fight. Incredible.
While your at it, another Georgia artist you need to hear is Jason Isbell (with or without his band the 400 Unit). Rock, blues, country, and somewhere between it all. Raw, powerful, emotional.
Start with "Hope the High Road" and "Cover Me Up". 💙

I have decided that you two are the most satisfying of the reaction folks that I subscribe to (and the most fun!). The way you dig the music and just feel it, without trying to analyze it too much is just right for me. Your taste is wide ranging, too and that is important, I believe. I really look forward to these videos as a respite from the crazy world we live in, so thanks for doing what you do! Love you guys!❤

Love Alabama Shakes, who doesn't? Definitely listen to some more. And it really doesn't matter which of their songs you pick next, they're all good.
But, for another female Friday, eventually, why not watch the highest grossing female singer in the world? Like over 900 million dollars a year, something like that. Not Adele. Another clue, she lives in a castle in Ireland. I would say to not start with "Orinoco Flow", but rather start with "Caribbean Blue" or "Storms in Africa". Or "Boadicea", a song sampled by The Fugees in "Ready or Not". So, Enya, that's who I'm talking about. Pretty please. Even if you start with her most popular song, which is "Orinoco Flow", I'd be okay with that.

Glad you're bringing attention to Alabama Shakes! My favorites are the ladies who are true to their musical art regardless if it gets them lots of "radio play". So much more talented then many performers you hear over and over on the radio stations today.
