      Yes imo lando does not deserve a 10/10 because he majorly underperformed in both sprint and normal quali and won thanks to things going his way,9/10 for me because with the way Charles performed this weekend he would've gotten pole in that mclaren both times and won both races without max touching him. Not saying leclerc had the better race but overall more maximised weekend with the car he was given

    • @bonzwell13
      @bonzwell13 Před 27 dny +6

      I completely agree. If we are taking into account the ENTIRE weekend, you absolutely cannot give Lando a 10/10. Poor quali results in both sessions, especially in the sprint quali, which starting 9th put him in a bad position at the start to be yeeted out of the race. IMO, they basically gave him a 10 for his driving in the final stint after the safety car when he was able to pull away from Max and win the race. I agree that it was a very impressive final stint, but you can't judge his weekend based solely on that and getting his first F1 race win. Honestly, there is a pretty compelling argument that Piastri had a better weekend overall based purely on his driving considering he had only half the upgrades that Lando did.

    9/10: Max, Charles & Oscar (All did very well but could’ve achieved more)
    8/10: Lewis (did great but was outqualified by George in both quali, and finished behind George in the sprint through his own mistakes but made up for it in the Grand Prix).
    7/10: George (outqualified his teammate and did the best he could after being compromised twice at the start by someone else).
    6/10: Carlos, Checo and Fernando (because of Sainz’s penalty and inability to pass Daniel and Checo and Alonso being nowhere).
    4/10: Lance (for being invisible all weekend apart from colliding into Fernando).

    Outside of that penalty for overtaking Albon, (which he had to take once Albon locked up into last place) he basically out drove Alonso all weekend as the on track gap was only the time Alonso saved by pitting under the virtual safety car. I'm here to critique your Zhou analysis again.
    - He cut the chicane but was smart enough to allow Magnusson to keep his place and then overtake him at the straight.
    - His qualifying was bad because he didn't get his final push lap as Stake left him in the pits for too long.
    - He was on the same strategy as Norris and Alonso by going long with the mediums but Stake were not prepared enough to pit him during rhe VSC like what Aston did with Alonso (Zhou was matching and was only 2 seconds behind Alonso).
    - The safety car came out but Stake decided to put softs on for Zhou (with 29 laps remaining). Which was clearly the worst tyre to use at Miami. Even so, Zhou managed to only lose 2 places (to Hulk and to Piastri) by the end of the Grand Prix.
    A solid weekend where he also finished 11th at the sprints.
    Unfortunately, because people don't actually follow the races driver to driver, it often gives Zhou a bad rep as he doesn't get enough TV coverage. You guys need to read the team press releases before making these drivers rating videos.

Drivers complained about the softs being wildly unpredictable all weekend and Daniel just happened to feel that right at the worst possible time, when he needed to set his second Q1 lap.
    And then just like with Zhou, once you get stuck in the rear DRS train, it's incredibly hard to get out of it. That said, I do think an 8/10 is about right for his weekend as a whole.
    Also Horner said there was damage but Max himself said the car felt no different and he was doing the same laptimes so any damage couldn't have been that serious and it sounds more like Horner being Horner.

Trying to shut the door when a car next to you is considerably further alongside than just front axel to rear axel isn’t a good idea. Tommof1 describes it well. 1:11

    Tommy.
    Lando got the better start and was ahead exiting turn 1. But got held up by Checo rejoining the track quite carelessly infront of him.
    Lando's pace on the mediums overall was WAY better. He was showing no signs of tyre deg and could've continued being the fastest man on track for another 5-6 laps easily. Oscar got a great start, but was far slower than Lando by the end of the mediums stint and Lando made the tyres last significantly longer. He also was WAY quicker than Oscar on Hard tyres.
    And finally, beating Lando in the sprint isnt very difficult, when Lando's been sent to the shadow realm my LH and Daddy's Cash at Turn 1.
    Oscar had a great drive and deserves a 9. But regardless he couldnt make thise tyres do what Lando was able to do. Which was lap fastest for the longest.

      I agree, however the critical factor here is that Oscar had 50% of the upgrades lando had, which cost him 0.2s of pace. As such, Lando is expected to finish ahead of Oscar regardless. That's what makes Oscar's performance so impressive, is that he performed so well with an inferior car. Not to diminish Lando's performance at all because he drove brilliantly, but he did qualify lower in the sprint which left him susceptible to the incident that took him out.

      @@72Kraken Bro I'm not saying Oscar drove badly. But look at the pace deficit. Oscar had all 5 of the major upgrades quite clearly bcs he wasnt losing a lot of time to Max and such, he just didnt have 5 that Lando did.
      Regardless, the pace deficit was large from Lap 14 until the safety car. And then on the hard tyres the pace deficit was HUGE.
      Oscar drove a great race and was definetly on for a podium, but its not as if he was still driving the B-Spec car they rocked upto Bahrain with...

      @@MrDonutSprinkles I agree, Lando should be ahead of Oscar. But at the end of the day, a 10 is the perfect race. Which Lando had. Oscar's pace on the hards was massively off Lando's which is why I feel as though I can't give him a 10. Even compared to Sainz, Verstappen and Leclerc his pace looked slower than it was on the mediums, whereas Lando, if anything, got quicker.
      We'll be able to better judge how much time those 5 upgrades gave Lando in Imola.

      @@bill4665 How is that a perfect race lol? Yes, he drove well. Very well actually. But perfect? He didn't even make a single pass on Sunday. Couldn't get around Perez until he went into the pits. He then almost f-ed up the restart. If it weren't for the SC I doubt he makes it onto the podium, and that is despite his great pace. There's just no way he's making it through Perez, Sainz, Piastri, Leclerc and Max, all stuck in a DRS train. So yeah, great race but not perfect. He really shined only once he got clean air to put up a lap time after lap time, but he got into that position purely through external circumstance. Not by his own doing.

    The pit lane was closed immediately upon the deployment of the safety car. No car could enter the pits until all cars on the track had formed up in a line behind the safety car, they passed the pit entrance, and the message "pit lane open" was given.

    Can i ask why kmag move on Logan is a penalty? They were wheel to wheel on previous corner and then half way on the second, Logan didn't check the mirror so didn't leave any room on the inside causing the crash. Isn't that just a racing incident with Logan not leaving room when it was side by side? Is it because half way isn't side by side enough?

    • @michaelsullivan3581
      @michaelsullivan3581 Před 27 dny

      Exactly. A car passing on the inside has a responsibility to not jump in to a door that is already closing! Was Logan faultless? No. But Kmag did, technically, come out of the pits and just barge his way into a car that was running at track speed. KMag should totally have expected Logan to press on regardless! Most drivers in Logan's spot take their line. Diving to the inside demands a responsibility of fully taking the place. Kevin did not!

      @@michaelsullivan3581 but I just think that how can Logan doesn't check the mirror when Kmag was there in the previous corner and overtook him a bit. It then cause Logan to go defensive to have a worst exit by running too deep. With that of course Kmag will have a better run out the exit and Logan should either cut Kmag off immediately or need to leave room when Kmag attacks again

      @@michaelsullivan3581 Most drivers in Logan's spot would've understood that they screwed up their last turn and would've expected Magnussen to be alongside. They probably would've squeezed him, but I doubt most would take their ideal line there (except Stroll, he always just takes the ideal line).
      Also, no. It's neither a commonly accepted thing, nor is it written anywhere that you have to fully take the place if you go on the inside. That would make overtakes from the inside virtually impossible in a comparable car.
