I think the JD 12 takes it for me. It’s so dense and rich with dark flavors which is directly up my ass. Literally my first reaction to the JD was “this is the best thing I’ve ever smelled”😂
Scored one of those bad boys from a liquor store in Delta for weeks ago. Ive never thought I’d ever find anything in Delta, but our CO small towns seem to deliver

Just picked up this bottle batch 5 at MSRP. First time ever getting a 13 and will be the first time trying it too, waiting to try it after graduating
I have a RR13 Batch 5 and from what I have heard it is the batch that rivals Batch 1, which is considered the best of the releases. Personally, it is the best thing I have tried this year and probably last year as well.

Was just in Kentucky for the first time and unfortunately the WT distillery is still closed, would have loved to tour though. I also couldn't even pop into the gift shop since it was closed that day. Guess I'm due for another Kentucky trip when they re-open!
Picked up a bottle of RR13 earlier this summer, just happened to be at Wild Turkey when they released it. I haven't opened it yet, I was waiting on a special occasion, looking forward to it though.
I hope to find out in the next couple months. I have both bottles, but am saving them for hitting certain weight loss goals. lol I did just crack a bottle of Stagg 22a, and it's the best straight bourbon I've had so far.
Batch 1 of RR13 was the best bottle I have ever owned. Wish this was something I could regularly get.
I heard batch 2 was underwhelming, but can't say for myself.

@jolkraeremeark6949 batch 2 wasn't any better than maybe an average Russell's pick. Had some picks that were better. Compared to batch 1 you'd never even think it was the same type of whiskey
I have that same batch & its phenomenal. I also have the JD12 I’d love to blind them and see how it turns out.
My Russell’s Reserve 13, batch 5 is already 1/2 gone. So good, plus I have given samples away for others to try. 🥃
Would love to try zbiotics! I have been taking liver detox and rebuild herbs every day for years. I definitely notice a difference and would love to compare how I feel with ZBiotics. The idea of lightening the load on my liver is mighty appealing. Its not cheap but the price would be justified if it works as advertised. Cheers!

I should have told you this when we talked at pours or at Virtue if I didn’t have too much Michters 20, but I drive a mustang (manual, obviously) even tho it’s only an Ecoboost it’s tuned and whatnot to 345hp at the wheels. Dads got an 08 GT500 makin 725rwhp (not to mention the CT5-V Blackwing manual👀) and my brother also has a 2019 Bullitt. We gotta chat cars some day buddy!! My biggest hobby behind whiskey by a long way is cars and racing

I should be chosen to get free Z-Biotics because I have a toddler at home and a wife that is 6 months pregnant. I want to continue enjoying beer and/or bourbon on weekends but I need to be in tip-top shape in the morning to help take care of the family. Hangovers with young children aren't cool, especially when your wife is pregnant with #2!
Here is my take, which is worth what you paid for it…
Batch 3 is my favorite batch. Some do not like the level of oak in batch 3, which I understand. People’s tolerance for oak varies. I feel like the oak is very well integrated, but some call it bitter.
Batches 1 and 4 are more fruit forward. They do not act their age and that’s a good thing. I think Batch 1 is slightly more balanced and complex than Batch 4, but I could see one beating the other in a blind. The market likes Batch 1 the most. Many people like Batch 1 the most. I can see why. I still prefer 3 to 1.
Batch 2 is kind of somewhere in between batches 1 and 3. It is very very good. It seems like as a “Goldilocks” batch, it would be the best, but I prefer 1 and 3 to 2. Honestly… just so close.
That brings me to batch 5. It is the oakiest batch and my least favorite. It is still a great bourbon and I would still buy at MSRP, but not secondary pricing. I could see some people loving this for the oak. For me, the oak is not well integrated. Instead of getting leather or tobacco, I get wood in parts of the nose and finish. To me, Batch 5 is a step off of the others, where I adore the first 4 batches. Just my opinion, man.
As to JD12 vs RR13. I LOVE JD12, but there is a special place in my heart for WT. for me, the RR13 wins, but it would be a close contest and pretty obvious which is which. That banana-molasses note screams Brown-Forman.
Getting my 1st RR13, traded a EW12y and kicker, and excited to pit it against J12. Need to give the JD12 some air time because the samples I've had of RR13 are great so looking forward to a personal head to head. I find WT101 12y and EW12y being equally strong performers as well.

I passed on a RR13 batch 5 at 200$ the other day for a Weller 107 instead. I tried the batch 3 at a bar and it was good but wasn't mind blowing. I haven't had 107 before but I really like the special reserve. Hopefully I didn't mess up
Only had a sample of JD12. But every time i went to it, it got better and better. The RR13 batch 3 i have started well with apricots and leathery oak tones but became very spicy before settling down once halfway in. I call it a draw.
Someday I hope to see a RR13 live and in person!
I’ve got the Jack 12 in a head to head.
Both are very good, but that’s an easy decision for me!
This is the main bottle I'm hunting. I've been looking for the past couple of months, but no luck yet!

Just finally killed my batch 1 at a bottle share a few weeks ago. Loves that bottle. Unfortunately didn’t get a JD12 until last week. So I couldn’t compare them head to head.

Man I have and absolutely love both…. I honestly think it will boil down to whether you like the brown foreman profile or turkey.. both are damn near perfect representations of the best each distillery can do
But JD12 does have the best nose of any bourbon I’ve ever had so I’m bananas for 🍌
I have had both the R13 and the JD12. I think head to head the R13 will take it, but it would be Very close! The R13 took my best bottle last year in my breakdown video. It may come down to those two this year.
I think the JD12 has a thicker mouth feel. The R13 has a longer finish.
I like the overall flavor profile of R13 better.
Would love some zbiotics cause I am headed on vacation in October and want to be able to enjoy the all inclusive every day
I had a pour of Russels 13 at the Distillery and it is possibly the best bourbon I have ever had.
The white duck line got me. And the ending made my man area quiver.
Intersting. I purchased a bottle a month ago from Reserve Bar thinking I was getting batch 4 and I think they switched it for a batch 3. Bait and Switch?

RR13 batch 1 & 3,had 2 oz of JD 12 yr. BUT I DID NOT GET TO BLIND THEM. Still have RR13 b1 eeking out a win but the fact JD 12 is that special where i question if it would win in a blind.
I think id go jack 12, just because to me its a deeper experience, but i could see it going either way
I’ve had 3 bottles of the R13…very very good…but I’d take a JD12 over any of them. Just hits my palate profile better. That being said, RR13 is so so good.
I got RR13 by a landslide. It's sweeter, more complex, and even tho it's higher proof it also has less of a noticeable ethanol note that I get from JD12

Personally I think the M10 and RR13 have a close flavor profile than J12 and RR13. I realize there is a big proof difference between M10 and RR13, but I think the M10 punches above it’s proof weigh class.
I think J12 v RR13 will come down to an individual preferring Brown sugar caramel oak vs more fruity oak forward. They are both heaters!
JD12 for $89 wins it for me. Loved the RR13 before msrp was raised to $150 though

RR13 didn't blow me away compared to Jack 12. I will note though that Wild Turkey doesn't tend to fit my flavor profile preferences.

How do you know what batch you have? There's no markings on the bottle.
