I'm not GM lover by any means (Unless we're talking about Pontiac), but my 2007 Rustbucket work commuter Chevy Cobalt never fails to amaze me. Almost 318,000 hard miles, and the AC still blows ice cold in the summer. Hoping for another hundred thousand, but if not, that car doesn't owe me a thing. Pretty hard to deny overall GM reliability.
That was back then, now the quality of GM has gone way down. 👎
I got a Pontiac ! Yall
@@davidkucher5.0Coy especially their trucks... I'd have to go with a Ford there...
Was your car affected by the ignition switch scandal?? It was a big problem that killed several Cobalt owners..
I always thought the cars looked sporty, we rented one awhile back. Of course, at that time you could buy a new Cobalt. It was decent.
@@expertgaming1002 It could have been...it was pretty old when I bought it. Only snagged it up for about 800 bucks.
The look on Randy’s face when the top stoped had me laughing for like 10 minutes 😂😂😂😂😂😂
"Its a theft deterrent" as randy shows people on video how to do it 😂😂
I would take 2 Corvettes and have money left. I have a 1985 Corvette I bought on eBay for 2700. 7 years ago with 259,000 miles and still going strong.
@@jamesfeehan7743 but at the end of the day it’s still just a corvette
But you also have to ask which would James bond be seen in 😂😂
Good luck with your good jobs very much for the update on the everything.
Hi Randy, i would love to got one of them, such beautiful cars. In here i cant afford even close a corvette.
Continue the good work !
Both are great cars in different ways. With the Aston you can get some looks and great sound even though parts are on the high side. The Aston is pretty sweet though and you got to love the interior as well. With the Corvette parts will be easier to find and less money but it can still sound great and be a nice car to drive. Keep up the great videos Randy👌.
Both cars are nice. But I would take the corvette any day! Thanks for all the great content Randy.
I think you hit a home run with that 300,000 mile corvette.
One thing to consider is how the vehicle has been treated over the years too. I have a 1999 van that’s been garaged since day one, the paint and plastic are perfect. My 1997 truck has never been garaged and it has a lot of issues.
Between these two you have, it comes down to personal preference.
I forgot since my dealership days, driving one the tach is backwards! I believe the bang for the buck is the Vette. I own a 2010 CTS-V, and I get it GM has some areas that need work. But the money For a GM performance car,vs a "Exotic" is what it is. The Exotic in my mind means more money for repairs etc.. I have believe the reliability in the Corvette drivetrain. 260,000 miles runs and sounds like new! You hang on to the Vette to see 300k on it. I had a 94 Fleetwood with 283 k unit its original LT1, but didn't get to the 300k mark!
The corvette deserves to be refreshed.
Good Afternoon My Good Little Bro Randy Lee Shear Of Auto Auction Rebuilds
After listening to what you said, in my opinion Corvette hands down! I currently own a 1984 Crossfire Corvette.
Randy, love the videos dude, been watching you for years.
I’ve noticed a new slogan you can put on some merch……
“…All…..Day……Long!”, with a silhouette of your face underneath wearing a cap and sunglasses. Dang I reckon these will be a sell out!!!
Thank You for all the content Randy 🤘🏾
I love them both they both have good points and bad points keep the vids coming Randy
I love Randy's "wingin it" high performance convertible coupe comparisons!!! Well executed malarkey, lol.
I owned a 2006 C6, loved it, was very reliable and back in 2006 in beautiful Lemans blue, it was a real eye catcher and my seats were leather. Z51, awesome car that I miss to this day.
I love this comparison. Hope to see more video’s like this.
It’s your bold and honest opinion Randy, if people don’t like it, they don’t need to watch it.
I have to agree with you Mr. Randy. The Astin looks better but it's not feasible for your average Joe.
The corvette hands down is my favorite an i hope you feeling better
I really do love the vet been wanting one for a while not a huge Chevy fan but I do like all american-made vehicles for the most part exotic cars are just made for rich people as you said with deep pockets
What editing software do you use? Starting a channel and using Filmora. Love your vid quality.
I wanna see all the content on the Corvette. Please I’d love to see the transformation of it!!!
It reminds me of how proud people are to say "it's hand built!" to which I reply, "oh, not with the fine precision of a machine then" 😊
You’re 100% right, I have been saying this for years. The aftermarket parts are crazy for the Corvette.. how about tonight the Aston Martin after 20,000 miles😮
I like both of them. Vary awesome indeed. Lot's of work to be done on both of them. Keep up the great work. Okay.
An interesting thing I noticed after my previous posting . The tachometer goes counter clockwise on the Aston Martin . As you were saying about the pricing if those parts . Astronautical = astonmartin .
Im from the UK 🇬🇧 and I personally would choose the corvette all day every day its just got that something which draws me to it don't know what that something is but it has it
The Corvette has always been the working class hero
Nice enjoy I'm happy for you!
I agree with you Randy..the Corvette makes more sense for the average person in a long term sense. The Aston Martin is for those with deep pockets.
Idk…. i think i’d rather have the corvette, it’s not something that was put together with random parts and then if it needs to be fixed it’s not some crazy price like tyler spends with the car wizard…. But i wonder what that high mileage maybach went for at the auction?….Good content Randy👍🏿🥳
Both cars are beautiful but it is also a personel thing which car you would choose and drive , Randy
I agree with you because they both have their own spot and nothing will chaing that it just depends on who likes what. I don't see any issues in loving a car that cost half the price of another its what you love thats all agree agree agree 💯 with you brother
That duo belong in a upper level executives garage. He'd drive the Corvette to the country club to make a statement that he was doing well. He'll drive the Aston Martin to the country club to make a grand entrance to say he's made it. Two different cars at two different levels.
Randy revving on a cold start. Not surprised
There's no reason to apologize for liking the Corvette or liking the Aston Martin.
You aren't driving your car for somebody else.
The important thing is what puts a smile on your face when you get behind the wheel.
Is the intro an Aston Martin DBS?? And nonetheless the ole intro fits the Aston Martin ownership of yours perfectly.
Vantage - Looks
Vette - Reliability
Wonder what Randy's Oklahoma state police neighbor thinks about reving that Aston. I like them both.
The Aston has only it's good looks going for it. You have to ask yourself why the Aston only has 60 000 miles on the odo, has it been broken down the majority of it's like. I agree with everything you have said in this video. Me personally I would like to see you refresh the Corvette.
I like both but like the vette more!! Definitely got a good deal on both!!
Great comparison! I still love the Aston Martin’s for the brand better!
I know you used to own a Viper, how would you compare the Corvette to that car?
Well done comparison Randy! I’ll take a Corvette all day everyday
You should take the corvette to bowling green ky when the have there corvette car show and check out the museum.
As far as the Aston Martin goes if it's running that well right now clean it up and put it up for sale before something happens The Corvette I don't think you'll lose too much on that even with some upgrades
Hello Randy Check out the Jaguar that NicoBrothers got in Florida. Another steal like the C8 Corvette that they got in Florida few weeks ago!!!💪👍
Your right about the vet being a better buy, because you don't have to worry about finding the parts for it.
They are both very well built cars, just in different respects. The Aston encapsulates the phrase "first impressions are everything" while the Vette is like that old dog that just keeps living.
The Lamborghini Mercielago has a side indicator from a Ford Focus Mark1, an ashtray from an Audi A6 and throttle bodies from a Volvo. So I guess THAT'S not an exotic too Randy?
Nice video Randy. You should have made the vet disappear when you throttled up.
I have a 2005 C6 and have 2 other Corvettes along with many Fords and Chryslers. In addition I have had many foreign manufacturers cars. I have never owned an Aston Martin. While Chevy dealers will have a Corvette specialist mechanic, you can take a Corvette to any mechanic and be reasonably assured that it will be repaired. Corvette parts are readily available and reasonably priced.
I love the Aston for sure
Hey Randy, do you still have that Jeep? I’d be very interested in buying it.
More interested in the AM content, but the Vette sure is lots of fun. Enjoy it
In the end he set the go pro on Jessica's car. Randy Randy. lol
Out of all the Fleetwood is my favorite!
I love both but I just can’t deny a Aston, as problematic as it may be, you can’t deny the sound, the looks and of course the “brand name” 🤣. I love the C6 though, it’s definitely better for daily usage and you can’t go wrong with it, it’s beautiful, quick, reliable and cheap.
Edit: in my opinion, it just depends what you want though. You want a “brand name”, sleek beautiful car with an exotic sound and problems go for an Aston. If you want a cheap, reliable sports car get the Vette.
FUCK MATE THAT END 60 SEC WAS FABULOUS PERFECT END TO THAT SHOW WELL DONE RANDY WELL BLOODY DONE
I'm still waiting to hear that exotic car sound....
Randy my friend,
This is an outstanding comparison between the Corvette and the Aston Martin. Great, great video. Do more?
Love everything you do!
Peace,
DrRick
Do you still have that Mercury Marauder?
I think a corvette is every man dream car
Different strokes for different folks! The Corvette is an attainable sports car, while the Aston is a fancy car for fancy people.
Randy, in the UK the Corvette would win hands down. Also it would worth a LOT more money; UK autotrdr has a white 05 LSE for just under £21k
I agree with you on the Vette .
The corvette all the way . The corvette is faster . And easier to get parts . The Martin is beautiful but it's more expensive to work I guess I'm old fashion muscle car guy . Great content. 👍
You're absolutely right about the Corvette. You didn't even mention the amazing fuel mileage.
@@vadim7590 about 30mpg
@@vadim7590 try again. I got 26 over 2,046 miles home
Randy you’re absolutely right, the corvette is a much better car, and I’m not a friend of American built quality but a friend has the same Aston and literally everything on it is falling apart, especially the interior. When I went through the car I couldn’t believe how badly it was put together even tho the materials are of high quality. There’s a reason why everyone is buying Hondas and Toyotas
Spend a few grand on the Corvette
Buy the switch for the turn signals, buy a Borla exhaust for it, buy a new convertible top for it, also it deserves a second chance
I bet Tyler Hoover would like to have that Aston
The Aston Martin has the class ! You have to pay for it . Alan Northern Ireland 👍
Yes but you said about the Aston Martin Gaston Martin is a parts bin from the other cars like Volvos
At the end of the day usually we're all going to go ahead and say that we liked Corvette because after all Merica! But I also like the fact that the Aston Martin's and whatnot are not cookie cutters like the rest of the American cars.
Great comparison but rather the Mustang 5.0 over the Vette and Aston Vantage
I would sell the Aston asap while it’s still running good and keep the Vette.
I think you need to take both on some nice twisty roads I think that's where the Aston will shine in comparison to the Corvette
Have ya ever driven either? I gotta say, the Aston feels boaty In comparison to a C6+ Vette
The Aston has much softer shocks, the wheel feel isn't quite there, the body roll isnt controlled as well in the twisty roads, and the tail wants to wiggle out a lot more
The C6 Corvette, in terms of the Twisties, will outdo a '08 vantage any day of the week
If you want a proper European car that can handle twisty roads, a Porsche is a much better option
Sincerely, someone thats owned or driven all of these
Corvette all day long!!! The Aston is a good looking car, but repairs would be too expensive.
I couldn't agree more
I think you may be generalizing a little bit with Aston being a parts bin car...the engine is a bespoke Aston Engine. It's based on the block architecture of the 4.2 Jaguar block. The crank, rods, pistons, intake...basically all the internals are built by Aston and were assembled by hand at their own plant in Germany. Most Exotics these days are "parts bin" Cars as small exotic car companies do not have the means to develop ancillary parts like ignition systems, hvac systems. Ferrari uses Fiat electrics and HVAC. Lamborghini basically uses everything from Audi. Most of these car companies share parts from parent companies.
Definitely C6 Vette droptop for win one of my dream cars is C1,C2 or C5 & C7 Vette.
People say V8 Vantage, the F type the XKR the Maserati, GT and Ghibli are all exotic or super cars and my counterpoint. That is the Corvette. C6 is just as fast in to me looks better but that’s because I wanted one since they came out and I saw the Super Bowl commercial of the kids jumping I’m off ramps.
And im planing the GT3 widebody kit for my c6 when im done it will be around 18k into it alland then ill consider it a super car
I’m with you the corvette is the car for me
I’m still trying to figure out why when you drove the corvette and Allante home why didn’t you stop at Walmart and buy some plastic for the windows
Randy I much rather have the corvette myself I'm not really into aston martin sorry but if I had to chose between the 2 I would pick the vette hands down and the vette's interior looks better to me anyways. Don't get me wrong the aston martin looks great but to me the vette looks way better
Agree with the premise of this story: the Corvette is better. You can enjoy it and not worry about it ruining you if it breaks. People in the UK must wonder what we're smoking if we pay so much for a convertible when we have so many Corvettes here and a whole industry for maintaining them.
And I bet that Aston has high compression and requires premium fuel, to get that much power out of small displacement. There's no substitute for cubic inches, as we used to say.
I'd like the paddles in the Aston but that's about it. Whether a surface I am not touching is plastic or leather, soft or hard, makes no difference to the enjoyment of the car.
Stickman attract together dragracing drag race
Quality is relative when it comes time to shell out a ton of money to repair it.
Enjoy life don’t be intimidated of nice things you worked hard for it don’t let people push their opinions on you just have fun Aston is a great car both very nice 👍
Can you imagine what type of condition the Vantage will be in when it has 5 times the existing mileage on it? would you still want to be seen in it?
Are you going to take the AM to the Valet people?
I feel the same about the Corvette. To me it’s cool, but “it’s just a Corvette”
That being said, when I take my Corvette out people flock to it and break necks like it is an exotic. It really boggles my mind how people are attracted to this car sooo much.
I considered an Aston as well when I got my Vette because the price point, but I was worried about the Aston tax when things broke although it’s a hodge lodge of other manufacturers
Two different cars for two different purposes. On the Aston, pull the valved exhaust fuse. It'll make the drive so much more enjoyable.
Hands down the corvette is for me. I want to enjoy the car without worrying about the mantainance and parts.
Corvette all the way! Affordable, dependable, fast and in my opinion beautiful and that’s just a base model. If you compare it to a Grand Sport a Z06 or a ZR1 once again my opinion they are better looking than that parts bin special.
I agree that the Vette is the winner. It is cheap to work on and will give minimal problems over the long term.
I totally agree Randy, value for money the Corvette wins hands down. Aston Martin are awesome looking but they have always said that here in the UK a super car will always break and will cost a packet. I love American cars, from a young age I was able to drive Chevy trucks and Cadillacs imported to the UK. Cost of parts and availability are the true value of owning a car 👍
